God can bless us in many was besides financially.

That is so true, yet the abundance we are promised is in all areas, but too many people make a grave error and neglect a part of that full complement of blessings. Why? It's because people do not understand the great love and favour God has for His own, nor do they realize that the increase He brings us in that one area of concern, namely financial or material wealth, is a way for His people to share it with others. it isn't for carnality's sake, but for the sake of the Kingdom.

2 Corinthians 9:8
And God will generously provide all you need. Then you will always have everything you need and plenty left over to share with others.

Finance? Hardly. It isn't that God will just bless us financially, God would also increase the fruits of the earth that they not only have bread sufficient for one year, but, enough to sow again for the future supply.

God can bless us in many was besides financially.

Sure...righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit etc..... but clearly the context of the passages you was using was financial blessing, not so we can live in covetousness, but so we have an abundance for every good work.

Yea if they really believe its Gods Will...why are they trying to get out of Gods Will? They don't believe that nonsense is why they are trying to get well and work good jobs etc...

I guess this is really the only question I have for those who believe its Gods Will to be poor and sick...why are you trying to escape the Will of God? The fact is that your actions prove you don't believe its Gods will.

You go to the doctor for health...I go to Christ
You go to the world for wealth and financial ability...I go to Christ and trust in His Blessing upon those who live godly.

the whole reason for the original question would seem to be to spread the prosperity gospel, if thats what you follow, well good on you, there are many variations of the gospel out there and those that seek the face of god will see for themselves the truth as he leads them...

No the reason for the first question was seeing how unbiblical some are in regards to the truths of God as it relates to healing and poverty ....

If what im saying on this thread sound like "good news" that's because its the truth and that's what the term "gospel" means...

Now let me ask you ...do you believe that its Gods will for you to be sick? If so why do you go to the doctor or take meds?

You see its ok to speak against the "gospel of greed" because all should know that's not what God is trying to give to us, but its not ok to speak against the gospel and reject the truth while you "pretend" to defend it.

well if i line up your interpretation of selected scriptures against the selected scriptures the prosperity movement use to further their message,,, its the same verses, and they also seem to reject the same verse you do, too. to suggest that somehow a christian lacks something cos his not prospering or healed in the way you suggest, is a prosperity gospel message if you reconise it or not.

I cant help it if other people use the truth in a way that dishonors the truth...I cant help it if the Roman catholic church uses the same scriptures to describe the Thrinity , it don't mean Im a Roman Catholic. I don't throw away the truth because others misuse or abuse it.

but a catholic will admit his a catholic so you know where his coming from, its not for me too judge their salvation, same with prosperity gospel, just to admit thats where your coming from gives the reader an understanding that your not preaching from an orthodox view, thats fine, i then move on, like with catholic its not for me to judge salvation.

Well I don't defend any group and believe the concept of a denomination is a sin against the unity of Christ...what I do defend is the clear and evident truths of Gods Word and the power of God that I have and have seen work in my own life....those who are teaching that its Gods will for believers to be poor and sick are teaching error and I think its right to challenge those errors.

no ones preaching you need to be poor and sick, but suggesting prosperity health and wealth, people are dying for their faith today, as they have from biblical times, your wealth and health message seems to not account for those, or your suggesting their not true christians

Well all I know is what the bible clearly teaches and if you want to call the truth "health and wealth'' that's up to you.

Ps 103:2 Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits:
3 Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases;
4 Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies;
5 Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle's.

I believe I will trust Gods word, if that offends some? Its good to suffer for the truth :)

He who would be rich shall be poor in the kingdom of God. He who is deemed poor in this world shall have great riches in heaven. The first shall be last and the last shall be first.

What shall it profit a man if he should gain the entire world and lose his own soul? What shall a man give in exchange for his soul? Lay up treasures in heaven where moth and rust doth not corrupt. The things of this world shall perish with the world. Despise not the poor for theirs is the kingdom of God.

For the cause of Christ

'Well all I know is what the bible clearly teaches'

i think after your remark here i will clearly remove myself from the conversation

2Co 8:6 Insomuch that we desired Titus, that as he had begun, so he would also finish in you the same grace also.
7 ¶ Therefore, as ye abound in every thing, in faith, and utterance, and knowledge, and in all diligence, and in your love to us, see that ye abound in this grace also.
8 I speak not by commandment, but by occasion of the forwardness of others, and to prove the sincerity of your love.
9 For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich.

For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich.

Please don't tell me you are trying to say Jesus was monetarily wealthy. This is talking about His being in heaven before His incarnation.

Let's go a bit further into Hebrews 13 there............

Hebrews
13

1 .) Let brotherly love continue.
2 .) Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.
3 .) Remember them that are in bonds, as bound with them; and them which suffer adversity, as being yourselves also in the body.
4 .) Marriage is honourable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge.
5 .) Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.
6 .) So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.

Abolutely "be content with such things as you have".
