I don't belive its fair to say Paul is speaking for Jesus.

If Paul is not teaching what He got from the Holy Ghost, which the Spirit got from Jesus - then Paul is a heretic!

WHERE did you think the New Testament writers got the revelation from that they wrote down???

Jesus said the Holy Spirit does not speak of Himself and only speaks that which He hears which is coming from Jesus - and then Jesus said He only says and does what He sees the Father say and do.

So to help you out here, the teachings come from the Lord thru the Biblical writers.

Then they asked him, “What must we do to do the works God requires?”

Jesus answered, “The work of God is this: to believe in the one he has sent. (John 6:28-29, NIV)

I thought you were one of those OSAS faith alone peeps?

Now you are teaching works based salvation? 'Sup with that anyhow?

Note the many times Jesus quotes the Old Testament.

And yet, Jesus was NOT teaching the OT Law.

Luke 16:16 is indicating that the teachings of the Law and the Prophets were in effect until the time of John the Baptist, after which the message of the Kingdom of God began to be preached. It highlights a transition in religious teaching and the introduction of the Gospel.

Jesus was teaching the Doctrine of Christ, aka the Gospel of the Kingdom and Jesus continued His teaching ministry thru the Apostle Paul as well as the other New Testament writers.

Mortification is to suffer to achieve sanctification. This is works based.

We are called to submit to the leading of the Holy Spirit so the works are OF THE LORD.

Romans 8:13
For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.
(NOT in our own strength - see Philippians 4:13)

Only those led by the Holy Spirit are the sons of God, those walking after the flesh go to hell when they die.

Choose to agree with the Word of the Lord instead of the false teachers who teach in OPPOSITION to the Word of the Lord like their father the devil.

If you think suffering is going to make you sanctified... then go get a hammer and beat yourself to a bloody pulp and see if that makes you closer to the Lord

Including Paul.

So your claim is Jesus is in ERROR (sin) by failing to prevent the devil to bring teachings in to God's Wo9rd that are not of God???

Jesus taught Jews under the old covenant of the law.

Jesus taught the Gospel of the Kingdom, He did not teach the OT law.

Paul taught the Gospel of the Kingdom too

You do not know what salvation is. You deny the whole point of the sacrifice of Christ His death and resurrection. If you are not saved by grace, you are not saved.

And you just denied what the Lord teaches in His Word.

This is how we know you are sadly listening to devils.

Then you don't agree with scripture ----which says itself ---

Again don't use Paul. I don't believe Paul. Acally the bible says otherwise.
Jarimiah 8:8
“How can you say, ‘We are wise, and the law of the Lord is with us’? But behold, the lying pen of the scribes has made it into a lie.

You keep trying to prove Paul with Paul. Peove Paul with the words of Jesus.

Why not accept what Paul said concerning following the Words of Jesus???

Ever think of that?

1 Timothy 6:3-5
If any man teach otherwise, and consent not to wholesome words, even the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which is according to godliness;
He is proud, knowing nothing, but doting about questions and strifes of words, whereof cometh envy, strife, railings, evil surmisings,

Perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw thyself.

Wow. You are maximal troll. Good on you.

Sure, I'm open to that I would love to be able to take Jesus and Paul and see how they jive, so to say, but still, no one's been able to show me how the theology of Paul is compatible with the words of Jesus.

Okay, first, you'll have to admit you were wrong about two points you posted:
  • saul/"Apostle" Paul said he saw Jesus in the desert before he got to Damascus,,, (Acts 9:3)
  • God Said that if anyone says they saw Him in the desert,, they are LIARS,,- (Matthew 24:26)
I provided the explanation:

Paul told no one to go out to the desert to see Jesus there. Besides, Luke wrote the account.
The Matthew passage you referenced occurs during the great tribulation:

Pray that your flight may not be in winter or on a Sabbath. 21 For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been from the beginning of the world...

If you admit you were in error, I can show you how to study the Bible.

Yeah I get that a lot from those listening to the lies of the devil.

We can always tell who those people are by their objections to what the Lord says in His Word.
You are a troll. You imply people are saying things they aren't even talking about.
Grace and peace.

It seems Jesus is teaching a works based faith.

The one that showed/taught Paul was Christ. Christ died rose yes shouting time and what was a mystery was no longer. What so ever you ask the Father in My name He will give to you. What ever you ask in prayer believe you receive it (faith works) you shall receive it. But someone will say, “You have faith, and I have works.” Show me your faith without your works, and I will show you my faith by my works. Now some may differ on what the "works" means yet Matt-Rev it just flows.. Same God same Christ same oh sweet sweet holy Spirit.

Still gets to me.. well out of all the places we can seek answers... would it not be easier to just seek wait on Him and ask? That's it huh.. it can take allot of time. I wonder does He wait sometimes to see if we really mean it really want to know? Just thinking not offense

Ok thats fair. Don't forget Jesus also says, for those who love much will be forgiven much and those who forgive little will be forgiven little. This is the law of love that leads to the law of one. Love god and love your neighbor. This is not a command of faith through grace but a faith that demands the proof of good works.

This is no longer beneficial for me. Im pointing out somthing I ask for help to work out. No one has done that. Just say it then. You can't validate Paul’s teaching with Jesus words. You can only validate Jesus with Pauls theology. This is an issue. Paul follows a different Jesus.

I tried to help but you ignored me.

Again, that is not true. I pointed you to the TOJ thread which is showing just that, but you ignore it.

How did Jesus Himself offer salvation to the world? He framed it as an exchange - our life for His. That is the essence of what a covenant is versus a contract or agreement.

24Then Jesus told His disciples, “If ANYONE wants to come after Me [become one of His true sheep who follow Him] , he must deny himself and take up his cross and follow Me. 25For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it. 26What will it profit a man if he gains the whole world, yet forfeits his soul? Or what can a man give in exchange for his soul?…
(Matthew 16:24-26)

The claims of God on us are absolute. As Jesus gave Himself to us without "keeping back part of the price" so we must follow Him by surrendering ourselves completely to Him." That is what a covenant is - a binding of life to life. When Abraham was told to offer His son to God it was the last thing he expected to hear. After all, how could Yahweh fulfill His promises if Isaac died? According to Paul, Abraham resolved this question though a radical step of faith. Even if God allowed Isaac to die God would still fulfill the promises by being resurrected. This was came from the interaction of both faith and works.

I already agree that Paul ment well and

Thats not true. The Holy Spirit helps us know Christ which has be reviled through his apostles. I don't belive the bible is without error. We are instructed to discern.
You think that God is unable to ensure that His word is without error? Your God is way too small. And it is obvious that you do not know God.

The bibe itself says its in error.
Hello Nufan, I've read through the entire Bible a number of times and I don't remember seeing it make that claim about itself, so please tell us where we can find it. Thanks :)

Also the dead sea scolls prove this.
You also believe that the Dead Sea Scrolls prove that the Bible is in error  Again, from what I've seen of them, I would have to say that he very opposite is true, that they help us prove the validity of the Bible instead. So again, please point us to the place or places in the Scrolls that you believe show that the Bible says things that are not true.

Thanks again!
