Does someone need to ask God outloud "please save me" to be saved? Just had maybe an hour plus long conversation in chat in a Christian chat room. My position might have been we are saved by faith, so no?

1 Cor 15:1-4 tells you how you are saved.

No...

They need to believe Jesus.. All of His words and trust that the Atonement Jesus secured by His death on the cross paid the penalty for all their sins..

Isn't it just faith?

Ephesians 2:8-9 King James Version (KJV)
8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.

Rom 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
Rom 10:10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

LOL! Faith and belief are the same thing. And grace is what God gives to us so that we can respond through faith.
It is by grace through faith, not by faith through grace.

And it is not "just faith" and it is not "all you need is faith and belief . . ." You need faith in order to be saved.
It is not through faith alone or just by faith or all you need is faith. It is by grace through faith.

What am I trying to say?
Here are the words of an old favorite song:
Only trust Him, only trust Him
Only trust Him now
He will save you, He will save you
He will save you now

The song would be much deeper, clearer, and effective if we sang it without the "only": So it would go like this:
trust Him, trust Him
trust Him, trust Him
He will save you, He will save you
He will save you now

By speaking of "faith only" or "just faith' we actually minimize the importance and function of faith.

But it's faith that saves us though, isn't it? How does one "accept His (the Father's?) grace"? Isn't it just faith that saves us?

By the way, I don't really know if by God I meant the Father, or the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit all at once (because I guess God is the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, right?).

It is not really "faith that saves us" at all - it is God who saves us! We are saved through faith. To say that it is "just faith" that saves us misses the whole point that we can be saved only because of Jesus' life, death, and resurrection.

How does one "accept His grace"? That is not the way I would normally talk about salvation - I think that was Blue Ladybug's words.

Grace is definitely a key part of the saving process - it is by grace - Paul's words - Eph. 2:8

Ok, but it is also through faith, isn't it? How can someone be saved other than by having faith?

Salvation comes only through faith in Jesus Christ and his finished work!

There is salvation in none other: there is no other name by which any will be saved!

I confess I am saved by the Blood of the Lamb of God, by His life, and by His being the resurrection. All of this because I believe Him and because I have received the gift of faith from our Father.
To believe Jesus-Yeshua is to do what He is and teaches.

God saves people and then they become conscious of him and want him more than anything else. They cannot believe in any true sense until after God saves them. Your concern shows that he already saved you and now you need to be baptized and learn to live a holy life.

Agree, when the thief on the cross stated “Remember me, when You enter into Your kingdom.”

There is the faith.

He was saved by faith alone... and it was expressed by the confession of his mouth.
