Are you actually going to take that position? You know full well that alcohol has been and is being abused by untold millions of people daily. There are many children going to bed hungry because daddy spent his paycheck at the local bar with his drinking buddies. How much immorality has resulted from diminished capacity due to alcohol? Not to mention crimes committed by those who were emboldened by alcohol. Wives and children abused and physically threatened, marriages destroyed not to mention reputations and careers ruined.
I find it difficult to believe that no one is hurt by alcohol.

Let's blame alcohol instead of the person who is sinning? There is a right and proper use for alcohol and it is not wrong to drink in moderation. You can dig your grave with your teeth if you overeat and gluttony is just as much a sin. Christ was accused of both. They are condemned together...
Deu 21:20 And they shall say unto the elders of his city, This our son is stubborn and rebellious, he will not obey our voice; he is a glutton, and a drunkard.
Pro 23:21 For the drunkard and the glutton shall come to poverty: and drowsiness shall clothe a man with rags.
Mat 11:19 The Son of man came eating and drinking, and they say, Behold a man gluttonous, and a winebibber, a friend of publicans and sinners. But wisdom is justified of her children.

So is TV, Computers, Church (yes I did say it, people abuse church with all their false doctrines), Food, you can abuse about anything there is. does that make it a sin?
May are hurt by Alcohol. Yet many are hurt by the things I mentioned above and much much more.
Does this make it wrong.
Again, Was Jesus wrong for turning water to wine? (A Jewish tradition, they did not drink non alcoholic wine, it was a celebration, look up History. Was he wrong for drinking with the sinner??
I prefer to follow Jesus, as he didn't drink either. The quantity of wine Jesus made was between 491 and 737 litres. If the wine was alcoholic then Jesus would have been making sure they were well and truly ‘plastered’ and was a participant in their sin! A serious charge particularly in light of Habakkuk 2:16 where we read: “Woe unto him that giveth his neighbour drink, that puttest thy bottle to him, and makest him drunken also, that thou mayest look on their nakedness!”
For Jesus to have made alcoholic wine, He would have sinned, and hence He could not have been the Saviour of the world. The Pharisees, who were desperate to bring some charge against Jesus would surely have made mention of this wrong if it had been committed.
Jesus’ appearance at the wedding feast was to show divine approval for the union of a man and woman in marriage. The wine He made was non-alcoholic; made so that the guests could continue to enjoy the wedding celebrations, and not to have it disintegrate into a drunken orgy.
For those who want to ignore the warnings of God on the use of alcohol, the miracle of the water into wine provides no scriptural justification for their cause. Let us be content to remain sober, that we may best serve God and be a good example to our fellow man.
The bible said "money is the Root of all Evil"...
and yet everyone have 'em...
some took them forcibly...probably to the point of killing..
some work to have em...
some use them for providing for their family...
some use them to kill others...
It is not the money...neither it is the wine...
but the person who is involved with them...and their purpose.

I had a mikes hard lemonade on new years eve. That was probably my 5th drink for the year of 2013. 5th over the course of a year.

Wow this thread has grown from 4 pages to 12 overnight. How could I ever keep up?
Probably someone has mentioned since but I just add mine anyway -
I fear the Lord, I rejoice before the Lord, I try to tithe and thus I drink.
Of course it does not apply to the new covenant only Christians.
Deut 14:22-26
Be sure to set aside a tenth of all that your fields produce each year. Eat the tithe of your grain, new wine and olive oil, and the firstborn of your herds and flocks in the presence of the Lord your God at the place he will choose as a dwelling for his Name, so that you may learn to revere the Lord your God always. But if that place is too distant and you have been blessed by the Lord your God and cannot carry your tithe (because the place where the Lord will choose to put his Name is so far away), then exchange your tithe for silver, and take the silver with you and go to the place the Lord your God will choose. Use the silver to buy whatever you like: cattle, sheep, wine or other fermented drink, or anything you wish. Then you and your household shall eat there in the presence of the Lord your God and rejoice.

I can tell you this, my friend, your kids can't get into your wine & beer if there isn't any.
lol. And this is the reason not to have any. (although I do not keep it in my house. If I do drink, it is because I am with someone, and we usually just get it) But that is no reason for me to JUDGE someone who does have it.
I hope you do not have any food in your house. they may get FAT. And die of sugar and all other kinds of BAD things food causes (rolls eyes)

Hmmm, I am sure that if you do not have any in your house, they will NEVER get any from their friends. One is better served in teaching their children responsibility with alcohol rather than trying to hide it and pretend it does not exist.

Do not join.
Makes life merry. We know the Bible has stated specific times drinking is acceptable which would include joyful occasions such as weddings and banquets. This verse mentions a feast or party, specifically.
And of course, the Bible goes into a plethora of warnings about alcohol. Not going beyond Scripture is the wisest thing anyone can do.
