In Revelation 6:12 it talks about the sixth seal and how the moon will turn red and the stars falling to earth. What if those stars are bombs? It then goes on to explain how people run for cover and call out for God to save them. Well there are no athiests in fox holes right? only AFTER all that does the tribulation happen and the mark of the beast.

So here's my questions:1) what are your thoughts on all the solar happenings of today?

2) how does today tie into revelation?

1. Business as usual and just as God planned them

1The heavens declare the glory of God;the skies proclaim the work of his hands.2Day after day they pour forth speech;night after night they reveal knowledge.3They have no speech, they use no words;no sound is heard from them.4Yet their voice goes out into all the earth, their words to the ends of the world. Psalm 19

2. These events do not tie into the book of Revelation

12But God made the earth by his power; he founded the world by his wisdom and stretched out the heavens by his understanding. Jeremiah 10

Although signs will appear in heaven, the Bible also states not to look for signs, so I think that indicates that conjecture is not proof of anything

The signs are not naturally occuring celestial events

So today is the Jewish New Year attended by a full lunar eclipse.

Actually, they celebrate the beginning of the civil year on the 1st day of the seventh month and the beginning of the sacred year on the 1st day of the first month, today being the first day of the sacred year.

This eclipse would have been meaningless, they could not see it from Jerusalem.

Doesn't anyone remember all the other 'end of the world' predictions even though Jesus clearly stated that not even He knew when that would happen?

WorldNetDaily, an American site that is roughly affiliated with the American political right, reported that biblical experts believe that the message is a sign of judgment from God to those on Earth.

The co-founder of Christian website Root Source, Bob O’Dell, told WND that the message was a sign of judgment. The eclipse will be total across the North Pole, and so is not pointed at anyone in particular.
“The North Pole can’t really be called the territory of any particular nation or people,” O’Dell told the site. “This is likely a message from God to the entire world.”
But since the eclipse will most affect those in northern Europe, the message should be especially heeded by people there, according to a pastor interviewed by WND.

I was just thinking about this because of the up and coming blood moon and the fact that there are three things happening in the sky today. *shrug* I like thinking about this stuff.

just remember, what we are seeing has been happening since the flood. Nothing new. Try not to read to much into them.

Who's doing any predicting? I just find it interesting.

There are those who demand a sighted calendar. They must have two witnesses in Jerusalem that see the first sliver of the moon to declare the beginning of a new month.

There are others who use a calculated calendar. It is based on calculations around the Molad Tishri (new moon of the seventh month) and works on the conjunction, not the sighting.

I believe only God knows the timetable for his plans for this world. As scripture says, no man, not even Jesus, knows the date or time when Christ shall return.
Therefore, I believe the same can be said for the end of days. As a Christian I don't look forward to the end of this world. While it is still here there remains time for those who are called to find their way to Christ and salvation. That means one less soul for the Satan to claim as his own.

That's just fine with me. 1114469o00kbqvngd.gif

Well, no one can know the day or the hour but Christ Himself said this...

Mat 24:32 Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh:
Mat 24:33 So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors.

And couple that with this...

Luk 21:36 Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.

And then inspired a complete book of prophecy for that day...

Rev 1:1 The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto him, to shew unto his servants things which must shortly come to pass; and he sent and signified it by his angel unto his servant John:

I am amazed people can read all this that was either said to or written to people living 2,000 years ago, and conclude it was really meant for today.... and not for them at all. I guess it was just supposed to make that generation (and 50 subsequent generations since then) nervous worrying about what was to eventually happen to you and me?

Does anyone ever get the Jonah feeling? This world can be very wrong sometimes, like in Syria, and you can want judgement to fall to sort things out, to deliver the words of judgement and warning and see revenge. But they repented in Nineveh and God did not bring the judgement, but people still want this kind of feeling, we are saved, they are the evil ideas spliting the world into good and bad people, but unfortunately it is normally paranoia and leads people who store up guns against the evil people, to suddenly become victims of their own family and the insane thoughts of those close to them...
This is why I avoid too much speculation on such subjects, because that day will be a sad day for many, and I hope many find Jesus before then....

Uh, OK, then perhaps you can tell us when this occurred...

Mat 24:3 And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world (age)?

Mat 24:30 And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.
Mat 24:31 And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.

I couldn't find it in the history books.

1) I think it would have been nice to watch if I'd been up early enough!

2) It doesn't!

That ye may be mindful of the words which were spoken before by the holy prophets,
and of the commandment of us the apostles of the Lord and Saviour:

3Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts,

4And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep,
all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.

5For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old,
and the earth standing out of the water and in the water:

6Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished:

7But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store,
reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.

8But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years,
and a thousand years as one day.

9The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness;
but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish,
but that all should come to repentance.

The reason people " conclude it was really meant for today" is the original question the disciples asked Jesus beginning with the third verse of the said chapter of Matthew 24.

"And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?"

This is what people are supposed to watch for. It has always been a desire of Jesus, Him wanting us to watch the given signs He predicted. He exhorts us to be alert at all times. God's children have no need to worry about this. He takes care of His own even unto death. Even if we are in prison, tortured, and are killed. The end is the comfort that we are assured of in being with Him for eternity forever, after it's all over.

Actually quite a bit was written about these things over a thousand years ago. But you wouldn't let yourself see it, if it was to be right in front of you.

If you think that I would not believe that the second coming has already occurred, then you are absolutely correct. I am the furthest thing from a preterist you will ever find.

A little surprise for you.... if you think Jesus was born, and that He went to the cross, then you are believing in preterist happenings.

If you believe Jesus turned water into wine, you are believing in things ,preterist.

From Merriam-Webster

Definition of PRETERIST

: one who believes the prophecies of the Apocalypse to have been already fulfilled — compare futurist, presentist

Nope, what you say is not preterism at all. Preterism is the belief that all prophecy is already fulfilled.
