If we have a "works-based " D.I.Y. self-righteousness /holiness salvation...then we don't want to say that there is any sin that we commit every day because we "need" to produce " our " good works in order to maintain "our" salvation. We can't have sin and do this too at the same time.
What people are really saying is.." I don't do any of the biggie sins like others do...."...so I am making sure I'm maintaining my "own" salvation...oh....but I will use Jesus' name once in a while to "Christianize " what I say..

It truly astounds me that people believe that if you're a christian, then christians don't sin, because they're saved. HELLO!!!! Even christians sin, every single day.. Christians are sinful humans, and humans sin on a daily basis. Christians are NOT exempt from sinning.
Still waiting on Scripture from Paul's epistles...Is not what this should be about...Scripture?

Huh? No the sin nature died with Christ. I think it's: If we say we have not sinned. Later he says I write you this so you don't sin and if you sin (not when, if, not expecting you do the same thing over and over) there's 1 John 1:9.
If you did a sin and repented it's gone.
Jesus was tempted in the same way as us it says. I don't think He had a sin nature. He was no slave to sin. His body had an own will. He just said no to His members. So can we if we find out who we are in Him according to Thorben Sondergaard who doesn't have to do the same sin over and over again anymore. Doesn't mean he never commits a sin.

To all who pray what is known as the "Our Father," the most proper prayer given to all by Jesus Christ.
Of course we are saved by grace, nothing more, but to live in grace requires spiritual responsibility.
Do you pray "Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven?" If you do then you are agreeing to obey the Father's will.
Surely you do not believe when you say "Thy will be done" you are not also agreeing with the enemy to be disobedient?!
Mind what you do and teach about obedience, especially if you yet do not understand it is included in living in grace.
Always honor the Father. You will fail, probably many times, but do not worry because you are seen as being His Son as long as His Son is in your heart and soul.. Praise God. God bless you for loving Him, amen.

People like HRFTD have to lower the guiltiness or water down the law. so they can appear sinless.
Otherwise, their own legalism bites them on the dark side. (they can't practice what they preach in other words)

You can always shine the light on salvation by works by talking about the blood of Christ. No one can speak against that. And the constant reminder of what His blood accomplished spurs us to live for Him.

Wasn't Jesus tempted in the wilderness BEFORE going to be baptized in the Jordan where he received the Holy Spirit???
makes me kinda sad that hrftd used to argue strongly with Jason, yet now kind of sounds like him. ( you long-time members will get this, sorry for the newer folks).

So? He had flesh but not some sin nature that made Him sin.
His own will He totally gave over when He died. He was made perfect by suffering. He was later tempted to not drink the cup.

Well sorry but I didn't see him say anything wrong in this thread. I see a lot of false accusations though. He's not a legalist.
amen...well said..the blood of our Lord Jesus speaks of better things...build on better promises...we are sealed with the Holy Spirit of God.
This works-based self-effort/righteousness/holiness gospel is a false gospel ..and the apostle Paul would have jumped on it like a chicken on a bug!
We all agree that Christians are to live holy lives...but how is this done?...by our own self-effort of our flesh or by the transforming life of Christ changing us outwardly to manifest who we already truly are inside the new creation that is one with Christ?
Are "we" trying to "produce" fruit...or are we a true branch that "bears" His fruit in and through us?....there is a vast difference...religion is very subtle and is a crafty deceiving demonic reality that can destroy us if we listen to it's lies.
Jesus' blood and sacrifice is enough and it bought us eternal redemption. Believe and receive it. It is finished! Be who we truly are in Christ.
