when I think about the fall ... what Adam and Eve went through when they ate of the tree ... while I can't place myself in their shoes as they had never sinned, yet I had sinned prior to being born again ... I know there was an immediate consequence in each of them at the time they sinned.

I do not believe Adam was with Eve when satan deceived her. If Adam would have been there, he would've done exactly what you believe he should have done.
Genesis 3:6 does not state that Adam was with Eve when she ate ... Genesis 3:6 tells us Adam was with Eve when Eve gave him to eat.

Why in the world would you want to grasp at straw instead of accepting the plain teaching of Gen. 3:6-7 that A&E sinned together?!
I do not believe Adam ... who sinned against God in order to join his wife in her fallen state ... sat idly by and allowed his wife to be tempted by satan, not saying a single word of warning as she ate of the tree.

I agree with what the Scripture says; you are free to believe what you choose (2Thes. 2:10).
It's so easy to make Eve guilty of the fall of man, when your in a country where the Christian church dominates. Because if you can get everyone to agree with that, then you and your fellow can take over the country. It's because you can now beat up the woman. Rape them, just have anyway you want with them. So, umm, what I am saying is the reason the debate happen with Eve being at fault for what happen in the garden of Eve. Was for the purpose of dominion over the woman. So they would be the men's slave.
And more. It's well known behavioral pattern for men and woman. They think if someone is guilty, or at fault for something. Then it's righteous that they have to submit and be slave. That it's righteous they suffer for it. And, the truth is this is false. As the teachings of Jesus Christ will reveal to you.

When Jesus was teaching, that was one of the things he was setting people free from.

You believe I speak with "all decievableness of unrighteousness" ? ... that I am perishing ? ... that I have not received the "love of the truth" ? ... because I do not agree with you that Adam was with Eve when she ate ? ...
I believe Adam was with Eve when Eve gave to Adam to eat ... but that does not mean Adam was with Eve when satan was deceiving her and she ate.

Was Adam with Eve When She Spoke to the Serpent?
In Genesis 3:6, Eve invites Adam to join her in disobedience: “So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was a delight to the eyes, and that the tree was to be desired to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate, and she also gave some to her husband who was with her, and he ate.” Does the fact that Genesis 3:6 states that Adam was “with her” mean he was a witness to the entire conversation between the serpent and Eve? Or does it indicate that Adam had only just arrived on the scene the moment Eve took the fruit?Those who believe Adam was with Eve during the entire conversation point out that when the serpent speaks to Eve, the plural form of the verb is used: “You shall not eat . . .” (Genesis 3:2), “you will not surely die . . .” (Genesis 3:4), “when you eat of it . . .” (Genesis 3:5).7 When God speaks to Adam after the fall, he addresses him alone (Genesis 3:9, 11). Yet Adam blames God for giving him Eve to be “with him,” which may also suggest that when Eve was being tempted by the serpent he was, at least passively, “with her.”
Of course, if Adam were with Eve during the entire conversation, then certain questions arise. Why did he not intervene to protect Eve? Why did he eat of the fruit when he knew God’s command not to eat from it?
Before taking the fruit from Eve, Genesis does not suggest that Adam has yet sinned. Adam was sinless until the moment he decided to eat the fruit, and his sin was an active choice to rebel against God rather than an error before the fall occurred. Eve was deceived by the serpent (1 Timothy 2:14), but Adam was not. Adam’s sin was a deliberate, knowing act of rebellion. Adam, as the head of the family and the one who received the command directly from God, bore the ultimate responsibility for the couple’s actions (cf. Romans 5:12–19). However, if Adam were with Eve during the conversation with the serpent, then he would have been guilty of sinful negligence (cf. James 4:17) before he sinned by eating from the tree; thus it would seem likely that Adam only joined Eve when she gave the fruit to him.

I was pleased to be reminded of 2Thes. 2:10 recently, which I urge everyone to apply to themselves along with my motto.
Regarding Gen. 3:6-7, I am amazed that folks reject the beautiful moral/truth it contains: All humanity has equally sinned and
needs divine salvation (Rom. 3:23, 6:23).
Even Paul appeared to miss this moral where he blamed only Eve, but elsewhere he blamed Adam also, so he wrote Gal. 3:28.
I have been happily married to the Lord from childhood and to my wife since the Lord answered my prayer in 1968
that I would meet my soulmate because I was so shy I hated dating.

The snake part was the temptation. Eating of the fruit was the sin. I believe that the bible says that temptation in itself is not sinful, but it would be wise to avoid it less you acted on it and then sinned. I don't remember either Adam or Eve questioning God, but I could be wrong.
