My view

Mankind disobeyed God's Command to allow Sin to enter into this world ------Sin is responsible for the power of death -----

Nothing about mankind causing death here -----

Romans 6:23 NIV
23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in[a] Christ Jesus our Lord.

We humans don't have to sin ----no one forces us to sin ---we choose to sin ------before sin came into the world -----there was no death involved ----only life was in place -----
i agree. Without sin, death is powerless and the strength of sin is the law (1Cor.15:56). The law defines the knowledge of good and evil.

Sorry but no, I don't do polls and i just let the word explain my position.
We are in a forum, not church or Sunday school.
Ok but bare in mind you should always rememember you are a child to God, remember the scripture that says come to me like little children by Jesus., thats because God likes you to think of him as your father and you his child. he loves that kinda of relationship.

and also this can be useful if you feel the question is silly, because no matter how silly or little you may feel, God loves the his liitle children which is what all manking is to him in cuding you because he the oldest of grand fathers and ye are just a minute fraction of his age, our fathers loves it when ye come to him on like little children, and dont feel silly for it either. anyhow if you change your mind let me know, goodbye for now. ps everytime you go to church of a weekend it is sunday school to the father.

First explain your comment, “a meat cleaver for the word”. If that is an insult, which it certainly appears to be, then you can apologize for it before I answer your question.

Actually, sin is like a crime, with death being the sentence.

Sin is likened to a sting,
which may not cause immediate death. Sin is also like a road which ends in death,

sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death. Jas.1:15

So please @Dino246 @Gardenias @Pilgrimshope @Runningman @studentoftheword please also let me give some more insight into this study, and maybe a question none of you have been asked befor.

Here is something to think about in the mean time befor i reveal many scriptures showing where lucifer a guardian chrerub once entrusted with Guarding the seed of wisdom, that lives in all mankind all nature and the tree of knowledge. but befor i show many verses showing how lucifers can manipulate matter and corrupt matter, may i give you something to think about,

Would anyone say that when you commit a sin you also disobey God, now befor any of you answer, bare in mind that God has left a set of rules and commandments in place for every sin.

So with that thought in mind how is it when a christian sins to day and disobeys God, the spirit is not currupted in the christian or dies like it did for adam.

would you all agree that to sin is also to disobey God.
it depends how strict you want to be. Is a single sin considered full blown apostasy from the faith? If God didn’t tolerate any excuses for Adam and Eve then I guess He won’t tolerate excuses from anyone else. If willful, ignorant, or accidental sin is apostasy then no one is in the faith and no one has repented.

By those metrics alone I think it’s necessary to reassess what it really means to be in Christ and what it means to really repent; I believe the answer will surprise many people, especially the works-based crowd and legalists.

I can understand where your coming from, but is it possible death has got so powerful because so many people sin.

Most people have agreed to tempt somebody in to sin is a sin. But is that the reason why Satan gets so powerful in a sinners life. Because the sinners gives in to temptation.

Do have any thoughts on death and sin starting with the rebellion in heaven and not with Adam and Eve.

not really because scriptire says sin entered in through man and passed upon all other men through him

“Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:

( For until the law sin was in the world: but sin is not imputed when there is no law. Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam's transgression, who is the figure of him that was to come.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭5:12-14‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Ultimately looking at the big picture , there is certainly something to what your saying though . Satan led the world of man where we are now but we were free to follow the darkness or light and we followed the darkness freely having Gods word “ don’t eat the fruit you will surely die “and then satans word “ it won’t hurt you it will Make you as gods “

Satan didn’t have dominion until we gave it to him is my point so I would have to agree with Paul sin entered into the world through Adam and Eves transgression. And because we are thier children naturally we inherited that knowledge of good and evil and death comes with it

hi pilgrims hope, when you say not really does that mean that you are 100% convinced that disobedience and Rebellion did not start in the heavens first. Because scriptures say fallen angels have been bound.

Scripture is quoted as saying that Satan is the ruler of this world and that he holds the power of death, but have you ever really questioned why Satan is the ruler of this world and why he holds the power of death.

Scripture says here that you posted that sin gives power to death.
And Satan says he will exalt himself higher than the heavens.
Which is a power mad statement.

Would that not be because the more people satan can tempt into sin the more the power of death becomes more powerful in Satan.

Is it plausible The power of death and sin spread quickly from angel to angel in the heavens befor they where cast down to earth from heaven, befor they took up wife's for them self's. And is possible Satan corrupted the angels in heaven. Just like he corrupted Adam and Eve in the garden.

Also what would you say anything that gives power to death.

Would you understand The reason that we must refuse temptation is because sin gives power to death. So for instance you know if we somehow become un-sober in the mind that we give death the opportunity to knock on our door. Or if we don't train the mind to stay on Guard that we also give death the opportunity to sneak in like a thief in the night unnoticed. Or day if we don't stay on watch and we don't keep the eyes of our heart open, we also drop our guard.

Now the power of death was able to kill the spirits in mankind now the power of death is also still able to corrupt the body of a Christian The flesh as you know, and still we wait or incorruptible body. In the meantime temptation can still come and the Christian can still give in to temptation and obviously then that sin corrupts the flesh of the Christian which then gives power to death.

Now for the non-Christian the spirit is at risk if they carry on living a life of sin they give more and more power to death and death becomes deep rooted in them in their soul. The spirit dies. And the power of death is still in this world still temptation sin and death is still trying to break into to Christians...

We are all sinners saved by grace.
God cannot be an Indian giver you know God cannot save you by grace and then un-save you by that Grace to tempt you and test you.

I believe if we follow our Lord we're more powerful than the devil,

Behold, I have given you authority to tread upon serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy; and nothing shall hurt you. Lk.10:19

Jesus is only more powerful than death in a person life if they stay obedient to the lord. And don't fall for temptation. The reason why Jesus is more powerful is because he beat death by not being fooled by temptation from satan and not sinning. Would you agree @Journeyman

I think its probaly time a discussion was raised on this matter. because one side seems to think mankind is reponsisble for the power of death
The power of death is thru sin and disobedience. And satan has gained control over it thru deception leading man kind to rebellion through disobeying what God said. Satan is the master of deception and will do anything to lead Gods creation to destruction because he does not want to worship God, he wants to be worshipped.

Well, the Bible defines being in Christ as following him,

There is, then, now no condemnation to those in Christ Jesus, who walk not according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit; Rom.8:1

yeah the thing is with me ( just how I see it ) we shouldn’t go beyond what’s written so I try to stay with what scripture makes clear . That’s why I quoted the scriptures that make me think that

in the past I’ve wandered a lot into things I though or figured but later it turns out that when I learn later from scripture I had wandered from its conclusion and explaination

I don’t know everything , not even a lot compared to what’s available to learn from scripture. My position is a learner and never quite able to convince myself that I know all I need to know but today I’m doing well and swelling with Jesus as best I can each hour and moment

tomorrow I’ll begin again with a cup of coffee and a Bible and prayer to start my day and my hope will remain in Jesus and I’ll try to learn something I didn’t know yesterday

so no o don’t know for sure what transpired in the heavens apart from what the prophets , the New Testament and the book of revelation tells us transpired in the heavens.

I don’t comment to try to argue or dispute just sharing my own thoughts to your op I think my position is that sin came through man because God gave us dominion on earth not Satan , he only has any power at all because we handed our dominion to him

you say he’s the ruler of this world I say we are me in order for him to have any power he has to corrupt us

think of it satan can’t actually do anything in the world unless he works through a man he murdered lies and rapes but the agent of his devises are always mankind because earth is mans

just as God works through men and women who believe in him truly , Satan works through those who don’t but the choice belongs To us Becausebit was man who God gave the earth to and we then handed it to the devil
