Good post. It compares with hat I've studied. I do, however, think that the Sabbaths that envelope the feasts are perfectly co-ordinated with the weekly Sabbath days year round. But I care not to derail this thread of Barlygurl's discussing such. Many who observe Saturday as the weekly Sabbath do not approve of my analogy, but that isn't to say that I disapprove of their observance.

I do not have anyone to fellowship Sukkot with, nor do I have a tent or camp trailer... if I just open my bedroom window for the 8 nights... can I be included in yours... :D

Absolutely! Although the instruction is to live in a temporary dwelling. So find something temporary to set up in your yard and sleep in that!

Observe it in spirit, and include Christ, past present and future in your worship during this beautiful time of the year. Go back and read about the "big "deal" beginning with post #45, and you'll see what I mean about the plan of salvation as my explanations that God enlightened to me to unfold. Obviously it's all about Him. Elohim! (plural)

Hopefully I'll have the time (shortly) to present the offerings and their spiritual meanings through the 7 days and though it all we see how the wonderful plan of salvation unfolds by God divine providence.

I am Living in a temporary DWELLING... it just happens to be made of sticks of wood... most people refer to it as a HOUSE but it is my temporary dwelling for NOW as well as relating to my spiritual sojourn.:o

Just me... no derail.. please carry on!!!

This year 2015 September 28th is the first day of the Feast of Tabernacles
Leviticus 23:39.
“Also in the fifteenth day of the seventh month, when ye have gathered in the fruit of the land, ye shall keep a feast unto the LORD seven days: on the first day (the 15th) shall be a sabbath, and on the eighth day (the 22nd) shall be a sabbath.”

So the Feast of Tabernacles starts on a Sabbath day, yet this day relates to the plan of salvation, conceived before the 1[SUP]st[/SUP] day of creation recorded in Genesis chapter 1. This explains that Elohim was engineering creation before they started to create it naturally.

This threw me for a loop until I began to put the chronology in perspective, keeping in mind that the 8[SUP]th[/SUP] day, after this 7 the feast, is also a Sabbath and not the 7[SUP]th[/SUP] day, so bear with me so you can see what I see, and then you can make your own decision if you think differently.
Breakdown as follows................
1. spiritual = Melchizedek priesthood 1st day
2. natural = Levitical priesthood the following 6 days, identified as the number (6) of humans.
3. spiritual = The 2[SUP]nd[/SUP] priesthood gives way the the 3[SUP]rd[/SUP] priesthood made after the order of the 1[SUP]st[/SUP] priesthood on the 8[SUP]th[/SUP] day. The sign of the covenant with Abraham, and his giving offerings to Melchizedek, is culminated by the sign of circumcision. This is also in relation to circumcising on the 8[SUP]th[/SUP] day. Leviticus 12:3 Philippians 3:5 Deuteronomy 10:16 Genesis 17:11

Being somewhat redundant then, the first day of creation is in relation to the second day of the feast. The second day relates to the first day of creation, and so on.

The first day of the feast is a Sabbath being the 15[SUP]th[/SUP].
Summarizing the reason for this week of reflection, and “convocation,” I noticed that Christ Jesus is the first and the last, and everything in-between as time is calculated. I think of Colossians 1:12-19 when I address the fact that Christ Jesus, our beloved Savior, was given total responsibility by His Father to instigate and finish all that they had planned together before the first day of creation.

“Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light: Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son: In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins: Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature: For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: And he is before all things, and by him all things consist. And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence. For it pleased the Father that in him should all fulness dwell;”

In addition to that 1 Peter 1:18-21 says “Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot: Who verily was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you,Who by him do believe in God, that raised him up from the dead, and gave him glory; that your faith and hope might be in God.”

All this was done to prove their love (Elohim's love), for mankind, and how to save us from certain death. To prove this enormous truth, we read in John 17:5 “And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was.”

The Greek word for “glorify” is “doxazo” meaning to honor. It is an extension of the word “doxo” meaning very apparent. This relates to the “Doxology” that some denominations sing; “Praise God from whom all blessing flow, praise Him all creatures here below; praise Him above, ye heavenly host; praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost.”

Apparently God bestows high honor to His Son Christ Jesus, to be the creator of all things according to His directives given before the journey of time even began. This is comparable with the 430 years Israel (Jacob's family, beginning with Joseph) was in Egypt including the first Passover, and the 40 years in the wilderness. By that time, all of Israel had been born into this sinful nature of worldly values.

The reality for us today is found in Romans 3:23 saying, “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;” This is a freedom call unto salvation before we start walking in the newness of life, in that God wants us to respond to His call. He says, “behold I stand at the door and knock.” ( Revelation 3:20 ) It is God’s creation, His rest, His protection, all in the plan before the physical heavens and earth were ever created. This time, (beginning on September 28[SUP]th[/SUP]), is a time for God's children to focus on the past, and present, which gives us hope for the future. We begin a time period that lasts for 8 days, given to us to reflect on the history of truth, the present state of truth in personal life experiences, and looking forward to the completion of all things (in the millennial reign of Christ Jesus, the “Lion of Judah”) that our Father and His Son Jesus Christ planned together before time began. This first day of the feast represents a Sabbath convocation between Father and Son, knowing that there would be a need to save mankind from a certain death.

I will begin by defining the 1[SUP]st[/SUP] day in this sequence of days, and the decline in the number of bullocks (the representation of Jesus Christ) offered as each day passes during the “Feast of Tabernacles,” the decrease in number exemplifies the sequence of events of Elohim’s (The Father and Son together) divine plan, and finally being completed, i. e. “fulfilled” in Christ Jesus. This was surely a blessing to me, and I sincerely hope it will be to you also because the seventh day of the feast ends with seven bullocks on the 21st day of the seventh month. I have taken the opportunity of comparing the Hebrew pictorial alphabet with spiritual meanings of numbers, and quantities for their spiritual representation.

1[SUP]st[/SUP] day=15[SUP]th[/SUP] of the month Numbers 29:12-14 (KJV)
[SUP]12 [/SUP]And on the fifteenth day of the seventh month ye shall have an holy convocation; ye shall do no servile work, and ye shall keep a feast unto the LORD seven days:
[SUP]13 [/SUP]And ye shall offer a burnt offering, a sacrifice made by fire, of a sweet savour unto the LORD; thirteen young bullocks, two rams, and fourteen lambs of the first year; they shall be without blemish: [SUP]14 [/SUP]And their meat offering shall be of flour mingled with oil, three tenth deals unto every bullock of the thirteen bullocks, two tenth deals to each ram of the two rams,

I will concentrate on the bullocks for now, and if God wills it, I will more fully address the lambs and rams, and their meanings later, as their quantities are also offered each day for 7 days, but their number doesn't change as do the bullock's. So why thirteen bullocks, and what does thirteen represent? One can relate these 13 bullocks to what Jesus carried in His body while on the cross of Calvary. We begin to look at this day and the following six days from three perspectives defined by Hebrew letters of the aleph beyt, and representatives of Biblical numbers.

Obviously the number 13 is prevalent, but we also should look into the meaning of the number 15 for this particular day of the month. Last, but not least, the first letter, and the number 1 is the 1st day of the “Feast of Tabernacles.”

The number
1 (1st day of the feast) represents unity, and new beginnings.
The 1[SUP]st[/SUP] letter means strong powerful leader. Our holy Father in heaven planned these chronological events before they were instituted to mankind.

The number
13 (quantity of bullocks) represents “Apostasy, depravity, rebellion.
The 13[SUP]th[/SUP] letter means chaos, water, and blood that are mighty. The law entered because of transgression.

The number
15 (day of the month) represents rest.
The 15[SUP]th[/SUP] letter means grab, hate, and protect. The believer in Christ Jesus enters into His rest, ceasing from his own works, and is protected from those things God the Father detests, known as sins.

September 29[SUP]th[/SUP] 2015
The second day of the feast is the 1[SUP]st[/SUP] day of the week being the 16[SUP]th[/SUP].

Now the journey begins. Heaven and Earth are created, and the light appears to define the difference between darkness and light. In John 8:12b Jesus says“I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.” All plants and seeds were created during the time of the beginning by reading Genesis 2:4-5. “These are the generations of the heavens and of the earth when they were created, in the day that the LORD God made the earth and the heavens, And every plant of the field before it was in the earth, and every herb of the field before it grew: for the LORD God had not caused it to rain upon the earth, and there was not a man to till the ground.”

In relation to the 1[SUP]st[/SUP] month of the year, this is the day afterIsrael leaves captivity, and is led with a cloud during the day and a pillar of fire to light their way during the night. In kind, it is our reciprocation to the love of God, and our responsibility to watch these actions of God’s love, and protection through Christ Jesus. By reaching out to Him in this way, we can find out, as 1 John 4:19 states; “We love him, because he first loved us.”

2[SUP]nd[/SUP] day=16[SUP]th[/SUP] of the month: Numbers 29:17 (KJV)
[SUP]17 [/SUP]And on the second day ye shall offer twelve young bullocks, two rams, fourteen lambs of the first year without spot:

There are twelve tribes of Israel, twelve stones in the breastplate of the priest representing these tribes, and twelve disciples called to continue the ministry of Christ after His ascension. There are also twelve stones in the foundation of the New Jerusalem. There were laws given to Israel for them to be able to govern themselves, God Almighty being (as it were) their King. By these instructions they had freedom from influences of false religions of pagan doctrines, and by these instructions in righteousness, were able to prosper while living in peace and security. This doesn't instigate salvation because that is God's prerogative because (as mentioned) He loved us first. Our positive reaction to this love is a vital contributor to our sustenance, remaining within salvation, not by our works, but by His grace revealed.

As we study the following, notice the progression according to the divine plan of truth and understanding, relating it to the Biblical stories that you are acquainted with, and adding to your faith this recognition of a dynamic truth and foreknowledge of God. How wonderful He is!

The number 2(2nd day of the feast)represents union, division, and witnessing
The 2[SUP]nd[/SUP]letter means a family, a house of shelter from the outside elements. This is a doorway given for us to be united with the family of God, evidenced by past events we are sheltered from this world’s values, represented by Egypt, and desire not to be united with self will.

The number 12(quantity of bullocks) represents governmental perfection
The 12[SUP]th[/SUP] letter means to teach, yoke, and bind, continuing to be connected with the perfection in Christ Jesus, and bound to the divine plan by every Word that God has ever spoken, not by self-works, but by faith.

The number 16(day of the month) represents love
The 16[SUP]th[/SUP] letter means to watch, know, and shade like the gourd shading Jonah 4:6. We are ministers of the love of God, and love for our neighbors and enemies. This kind of love sheds light on darkness by a discerning heart, wanting ourselves, and others to be separated from anything that might alienate us from the presence of God.

First and foremost, there are 16 names defining God’s loving character in scripture what we are exhorted and admonished to adopt in our lives through Christ and the given Holy Spirit. These 16 things are likened, and parallel to 1 Corinthians 13:4-8a “Charity suffereth long (1), and is kind;(2) charity envieth not;(3) charity vaunteth not itself, (4) is not puffed up, (5)Doth not behave itself unseemly,(6) seeketh not her own,(7) is not easily provoked,(8) thinketh no evil; (9)Rejoiceth not in iniquity,(10) but rejoiceth in the truth; (11)Beareth all things,(12) believeth all things,(13) hopeth all things,(14) endureth all things.(15) Charity never faileth” (16).

Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: Philippians 2:5

There are usually a couple of different times that people start celebrating it, due to their interpretation of when the New Moon is (a whole different discussion). Our church follows a traditional lunar calendar.

So for our church, we will start celebrating the night of Sunday September 27th and will end October 4th.

You know there is a lunar eclipse this year Sept 27-28th should be visible for most of the world

Notice in that parable Jesus says the Kingdom of heaven is like unto leaven.....Matthew 13:33 "Another parable spake he unto them; The kingdom of heaven is like unto leaven, which a woman took, and hid in three measures of meal, till the whole was leavened."

And we know the Kingdom of heaven is not bad or evil like the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy, false doctrine and sinful behavior.

The mystery of both the leaven of the world (wild) and the good leaven(from heaven above), or meal that removes the "death" is also symbolized here....

2 Kings 4:38-41[SUP]38 [/SUP]And Elisha came again to Gilgal: and there was a dearth in the land; and the sons of the prophets were sitting before him: and he said unto his servant, Set on the great pot, and seethe pottage for the sons of the prophets.
[SUP]39 [/SUP]And one went out into the field to gather herbs, and found a wild vine, and gathered thereof wild gourds his lap full, and came and shred them into the pot of pottage: for they knew them not.
[SUP]40 [/SUP]So they poured out for the men to eat. And it came to pass, as they were eating of the pottage, that they cried out, and said, O thou man of God, there is death in the pot. And they could not eat thereof.
[SUP]41 [/SUP]But he said, Then bring meal. And he cast it into the pot; and he said, Pour out for the people, that they may eat. And there was no harm in the pot."

In this we see how(wild) strange doctrine, which is of the world is like a strange woman, or like strange fire being offered before the Lord, which also the sons of Aaron and Israel found out to be a grave error which caused death. The wild vine is like the opposite of the good vine, therefore the "wild" vine is like the bad leaven that brings forth death. But Jesus is the good vine, and His words are like the good leaven that removes the bad leaven of lies and hypocrisy with His words of Truth and Life. He is able to graft the "wild" Olive branches into His good Olive tree, He is able to purge out the old leaven and make you a new lump in Him.

So I believe my initial interpretation was correct about the Kingdom of heaven being like the good leaven in that parable in Matthew 13:33.

On a science note, because I love how God reveals His truth in nature. Leaven is yeast that makes bread rise when it digests sugar. It adds air and makes bread light and fluffy.but wild leaven or bad yeast can cause disease like yeast infection...

The scripture made me think about the differences of both,

Wait what????? Paul is Not high priest to the gentiles

I am somewhat surprised there is so little interest in the feast since we are approaching that time of year and knowing the importance it bears for the 1000 year millennial reign. Aren't Christians in here interested in their future with Christ - their future told in the Bible with undeniable, unarguable substance? Things like 'when is the rapture going to happen' and such are debatable as they are subject to 'interpretation' and I won't go any further with that thought.

Not really. Once I am with God in heaven. He will tell me what to do.

I don't think we will be keeping the feast but I could be wrong.

I love camping and would love any excuse to camp out.

However I have study different beliefs about revelation and have decided ammillenialisn makes the most sense to me,but will hold final verdict until God tells me what He means by it all through the unfolding of world events.

I don't think God requires new covenant believers to keep the feast, I believe Christ fulfilled the feast of tabernacle by being born.

The tent/tabernacle was His earthly body.

We camp out in our bodies now on earth, eventually God will give us a new better tent one day,

That being said I love learning about and discusing any bible scriptures and if people want to honor God by keeping the feast its fine by me.

My kids love playing dress up to.

It is NOT helpful to anyone else to notice something, address it by quoting, and NOT indicate the post it came from when there are over 100 posts in this thread. Whats up with that Ariel???

I looked for it... and can't find it... but concur with the same question... Wait WHAT?!

It's from post 77 and I can see that he is drawing a parallel between Moses and Aaron to Jesus and Paul but think it's a false parallel.

Yes Jesus is the Prophet that Moses foretold but all believers are the priesthood.

In the old testament the High priest was Aaron not Moses. In the New testament the High priest is Jesus.

He is the mediator and offers the better sacrifice in heaven for us.

could be poor worded explanation or could be an error... I will wait for Justme to explain what he meant.

Yeah. Just wondering. I mess up all the time with my words so I am not going to beat someone for it, and sometimes draw incorrect parallels trying to understand how Christ is foreshadowed in the ot but God shows me His truth by His other children and keeps us from getting too messed up.

Will have to read more and pray about the topic.

Maybe after the Isaiah study I will start one on old testament feasts.

parable of the kingdom of heaven is given, the devil did it

36Then Jesus sent the multitude away, and went into the house: and his disciples came unto him, saying, Declare unto us the parable of the tares of the field.
37He answered and said unto them, He that soweth the good seed is the Son of man;
38 The field is the world; the good seed are the children of the kingdom;
but the tares are the children of the wicked one;

39
The enemy that sowed them is the devil; the harvest is the end of the world;
and the reapers are the angels.

40 As therefore the tares are gathered and burned in the fire; so shall it be in the end of this world.

can you explain the bad woman[church] in rev. 17 then?

5. The 2 omers for the ram represent the passing on of God's words to His children via, what was to become the Levitical priesthood. Moses and Aaron did this for Israel, and usually Aaron received his instructions through Moses, but all was from the mouth of God Almighty. Jesus, taking the place of the Levitical priesthood, did this for the Jews, and Paul did this for the Gentiles.
Wait what????? Paul is Not high priest to the gentiles
I should have added that Jesus taught the Jews and Paul taught Jesus' message to the Gentiles. In the OT the Priest came second to Moses, and in the NT the Priest comes first and then Paul came second. One can relate this seeming reversal to what I wrote in Post 101.

Breakdown as follows................
1. spiritual = Melchizedek priesthood 1st day
2. natural = Levitical priesthood the following 6 days, identified as the number (6) of humans.
3. spiritual = The 2[SUP]nd[/SUP] priesthood gives way the the 3[SUP]rd[/SUP] priesthood made after the order of the 1[SUP]st[/SUP] priesthood
It's from post 77 and I can see that he is drawing a parallel between Moses and Aaron to Jesus and Paul but think it's a false parallel.

Neither was Moses ordained a priest to the Israelites. Moses instructed Aaron as Jesus did Paul. Trickle down grace and truthonomics. LOL OK I'll attempt to explain for better understanding of a truthful point I was trying to make. Thanks for asking me to do that.

My endorsement of Jesus and Paul was to include the NT with OT facts how God works with 2 ministers and no one is isolated by God's grace. As God gave Moses Aaron, God gave Jesus Paul.

I could have gone on and on about Paul and Barnabas, or noted how Jesus sent the disciples out in pairs. I could have expounded on Judah and Ephraim as two being brought together in prophecy. I cannot remember if I mentioned Joshua and Caleb being of those two tribes. The ministry seems to all be two sent to minister together. I for sure didn't want to exclude Jesus Christ. This wasn't a mistake but maybe I should have deliberated by explaining more to get the train of thought going concerning how God wants His word delivered, which seems to always be by twos. Paul wrote letters to the churches and there were ministers/priests in those towns with Jewish synagogues in foreign lands that translated those letters to the languages of the Gentile inhabitants wherever they were and whatever their dialect.

The Feast of Tabernacles is so inclusive of so many things, including the plan of salvation, that I believe a person can take almost any part of scripture and make truthful comparisons to this one particular feast. This feast also is in complete comparison with the Passover and the feast of Unleavened Bread preempted by Jesus clearing the temple for the 2[SUP]nd[/SUP] time comparing this time with Atonement when Jesus entered Jerusalem 4 days before His crucifixion.

The feast of Tabernacles culminates (brings together) the other feasts, history and prophecy, Judah and Benjamin, and then we can go back to the small, yet dynamic part I mentioned about Jesus and Paul. It wouldn't have been right for me to not include the OT and NT Priesthood. I thought that was the best example to instigate thought concerning the 2 “rams.” I could go on and on about this, but as I like to do, for the reader's sake, is make the posts as short and cohesive as possible. I only know very little about this great big picture, and what God has given is meant to be shared. We are all learning, and I thank you for that question Ariel82. I apologize that I didn't explain this better previously.

Sorry still don't agree with the parallel drawn.

But would like to highlight the point about God sending people out in pairs.two is better than one and three is stronger still.

It is a known engineering fact that a triangle is one of the strongest shapes and can support more weight. Just look at bridge construction.

Makes me think of the truine God..father son and holy spirit.

I agree, but the 2 rams are the focus here. What would you say they represent? Could they represent the Old and New Testaments, or Moses and Elijah representing the law and the prophets. Could be all of those in my opinion. What's yours? I'm not trying to put you on the spot, just attempting edification to happen by sharing. :)
