Hate to rain on your parade but Judaism was very male dominate. God structured the family with the man as the leader especially in Spiritual matters. The simple fact of the matter is that men would not listen to women in public discourse.

Today we have a more relaxed society and women enjoy greater liberties but biblically women are not to pastor churches. I trust that God knows something that I do not. Women by nature are much more accommodating then men. Women are under the same admonition from Christ to be witnesses of Gods saving grace but they are not to pastor a church. I do not know of a pastor that does not consider his wife to be a tremendous asset to his ministry but the wife does not endeavor to usurp her husbands authority.

For the cause of Christ

Hate to rain on your parade but Jesus wasn't about teaching Judaism, for this is one of the reason why Jesus had chosen Mary to preach the good news of the resurrection. But the male pride of the men couldn't believe this woman was right in what she had saw and what Jesus instructed her to do, go and tell the others of the good news, she went out and preached that.

God isn't going to place a woman in charge of men as some are mentioned in the bible, then kick her back down to obeying men, sorry your sadly mistaken God doesn't change his ways on a whim. Though man will surely try to change things, even in writings.

Jesus preached on the resurrection long before MARY......so.............

YES... this is called "hitting the nail squarely on the head"....

i agree too

7 And greetings in the markets, and to be called of men, Rabbi, Rabbi.

8 But be not ye called Rabbi: for one is your Master, even Christ; and all ye are brethren.

9 And call no man your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven.

10 Neither be ye called masters: for one is your Master, even Christ.

11 But he that is greatest among you shall be your servant.

i hear women and men alike try to use a title to
lift themselfs up

and to me

it just looks like a puffed up chest from a supposed brother or sister

who was the very first person to preach the good news of the resurrection, does anybody know?

Peter.

The first person to tell it to someone else was a woman.... but telling someone something is not the same as "preaching" it... at least not in the context we are discussing.

This could be one instance, but my sister and her family went to a Methodist church in South Dakota. There pastor of lets say 10 years retired and a new pastor came in. Well the deal was that he and his wife were going to be both head of the church and would share responsibility on giving sermons and pastoring. My brother-in-law was concerned by this because of scripture. He did a lot of praying and studying and after he felt he had his answer from God he brought it up to the new pastor. Basically the pastor said it is all about interpretation and he felt his interpretation was right and my brother-in-laws was wrong.

Needless to say my sisters family left the church. They lost friends over the decision, yet it turned out to be the best decision they could have made.

About a year later many other people left this Methodist church because of the wife. I guess her sermons were terrible and she caused conflict within the church itself. Eventually the leaders of the church had to make a decision because their numbers were rapidly decreasing. So they told the male pastor that his wife would no longer be able to work for the church as a pastor. He told them he wouldn't change it and they would have to fire him. Well they ended up firing him but the damage had already been done within the church.

I'm not saying it is this way with all church's who have female pastors. I'm just sharing one instance where it wasn't a good thing for this church.

Yes indeed preached on the coming resurrection, after it happened Jesus told Mary to preach that indeed it has happened to the others, big difference.

If I tell you "Jesus wept" am I telling you that or am I preaching that?

It doesn't say anywhere that He told her to preach it. He said to tell His disciples.

While reading all of this pro and against woman pastors I kinda wonder about one things here
Why are people limiting God to only men?
Theres no male or female, jew or greek in Christ. I believe God calls all people into all positions. *scratches head

Was the wife even trained as a pastor?

The Methodist church allows the ordaination of women pastors and it sounds like she was not placed in that office. However, her husband allowed her to function in that manner without going through the proper channels or approval of that church's lay leadership.

The verse you quoted is talking about Christians as a whole; salvation. God won't go against His word. Why does the scripture tell us to go back to it for proof? That is because if someone comes up to us and makes an astounding claim that God told them something we should be able to open scripture and test what that person says.

I agree with you that God does and will use all of us. But like I said already, God will not go against His Word. Love you sis.

Sorry I should have been more specific. She was ordained through the Methodist church.

Okay thanks for clarifying.

Was she appointed to the church alongside her husband?

Was she ordained as a pastor or deacon or some other office?

Love you too sis xx
Yea well through salvation we are brought into the spirit.
Ive met woman AND male pastors who have nearly blown me away. When I look into scriptures I dont see anything saying '' Woman can be everything BUT pastors".
It talks about authority over a man in marriage, which if you look back into the times back then it makes loads of sense.
Woman and men being seperated, one left and other on the right. Then them yelling over ''HEY HONEY WAT DID THAT VERSE JUST MEAN!!" and chaos just exploded so Paul told em to be silent and ask at home so they dont keep disrupting the service
People didnt sit together in service the way it is today. Also these woman were of Pagan background, preaching pagan laws and all.
Which if I would have been Paul, I would have told them to shut up too.

God has always used woman in a diversity of roles and I am very sure there actually were female pastors. When I look into Romans 16 and I look at the greek word used for ''servant'' I see that it is the same as minister in men.
So that could give a hint that some Woman actually were Ministers/Pastors as well.
I agree that a woman shouldnt practice any crazy power over men in marriage, which that verse is about imo. But I dont see God limiting them in serving him in all ways the way also men do.
Thats just me tho
And if you really made it through reading my whole post, I have a cookie for you :p xx

Appointed with her husband to the church. I guess it has been a continuing thing with them. And she is an ordained pastor.

Revelation 5:10

And hast made us unto our God kings and priests:
and we shall reign on the earth.

Only Men are kings and priests.
