"...Spiritual Dropouts[?]..."

Precious friends, have we [The Eternally Saved, By Christ] ever asked ourselves:

"... what will it be like for those who don’t receive any reward, who are saved,
yet so as by fire (1 Cor. 3:15)?...

...Unfaithfulness among Christians is a prominent theme in Paul’s letters...

... One commentator aptly...also adds: “The Christian’s warfare is not a charade
in which there are no defeats. The voyage of faith is not to be undertaken in the
naive notion that shipwreck is impossible for a true believer.”...

...so what about you?...

Dear Grace, should we run the race for a prize of for the love of GOD? I agree that many are unfaithful for the lack of love for GOD and his beloved son Jesus the messiah whom I love deeply. Personally, I follow all of Christ commandments to the best of my ability, I am still far from the finish line but I have hope to make it if our holy father in heaven allows it.

Blessings and Peace!

Philippians 3:12Not that I have already obtained, or am already made perfect: but I press on, if so be that I may apprehend that for which also I was apprehended by Christ Jesus. 13Brethren, I count not myself yet to have apprehended: but one thing I do, forgetting the things which are behind, and stretching forward to the things which are before, 14I press on toward the goal unto the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. 15Let us therefore, as many as be perfect, be thus minded: and if in anything ye are otherwise minded, even this shall God reveal unto you: 16only, whereunto we have already attained, by that same rule let us walk.

If you are sincerely pressing, He will. :)

Hi Tracy,

Thanks for what you wrote and especially the link to the Berean Society article that spoke about us "...running the race".

The reference for this originates in Hebrews 12:1-2, as shown below.

"...let us lay aside every weight [of guilt], and the sin which doth so easily beset us [that will cause us to fail to cross the Finish Line], and let us RUN WITH PATIENCE the RACE that is set before us [by God], 2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith..." (Hebrews 12:1-2)
I have come to appreciate that most Christians today are completely unaware:
  • What this 'RACE" represents?
  • Do they need to prepare for this "RACE"?
  • What equipment (if any) is needed to "RUN" in this "RACE"?
  • Is there an "ENTRY FEE" needed to enter into this "RACE"?
  • Can a Christian lose their Salvation if they "FAIL" to reach the Finish Line of their "RACE"?
  • Can a Christian be diverted to a false 'Finish Line' along the way?
Maybe you might like to explore these questions a little further, Tracy?

There is a distinction between the born again experience and the salvation of the soul. To be born again is instant and irreversible. To know the salvation of the soul is a lifetime's experience. Some lose their souls because they prefer to hold onto the old life they received from Adam. Others shine more and more with Jesus each day, because their soul is being delivered.

The spirit is where we receive spiritual knowledge from God. The soul is where that knowledge is made real in our experience. We need both, otherwise our Christian life is one of failure and defeat. If we mean business with God, He will bring us through to maturity. We can come to a place where trials do not bring us down and blessings do not make us proud. All God requires from us is our willingness. Not willing? Ask God, who can make us willing (Philippians 2:13)

The Christian life is a marathon, not a sprint. Lord Jesus is the Author and Perfecter of our faith. Keep looking to Him. He will bring you through.

Further to my previous comment..........

To lose the soul is to lose the ability to express what is in the spirit. Some Christians will be spirit only, unable to know the fullness of being made in God's image. We do not know what God has for us in eternity. What I do know is that it will be beyond anything I can imagine. And I also know that this life is the preparation for the next. Some will be vessels of clay, others will be gold or silver. (2 Timothy 2:19-21). Our choices determine what we become.

Please pray for my recovery so I can go to all the nursing/ asst living homes to share His good news, leading others to Christ and into our family.

Also Pray for my head. Last night when I returned from a local nursing home, I reached down into my chest freezer and forgot to hold the lid. It fell onto my head and might have done some damage. Frozen cranberries were handy and worked better than most anything.

Tracy,
We all make mistake God knows I have made some serious ones but by His grace I may fall 7 times but I will get up again. By His grace I stand. Proverbs 24:16 which reads, "For a righteous man may fall seven times and rise again,

There is a good sermon in your freezer incident.
