Its not that I didn't know the difference between flesh and spirit. I just said that it's truth. It does show some things in Revelations that I wasn't aware of. I don't study Revelations because it's a vision and needs to be interpreted knowing symbols.

That to me was new.

I realize that his understanding on grace is askew........

.....as is his understanding of the flesh.

Happy people share happiness while misery loves company.

Interesting how some folks focus on nothing but sin; its like they're enamored with it; bathing their mind, body and soul with sin rather than love and grace.

Yes, it's truly a shame that so many Christians are obsessed with what God settled 2000 years ago. To focus on sin is to sow to the flesh. It is to focus on the desires of the flesh so as to not walk by the Spirit. It's the enemies twisted inverting of the truth specifically designed for our failure.

29 For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable.Romans 11

the flesh can do nothing. against what the spirit has done.

.....as is his understanding of the flesh.

Without understanding what "sin in the flesh" and that "sin shall not have dominion over you" actually means - we can come up with all kinds of skewed doctrines.

Like this one = if a believer sins - they are of the devil and not born-again, accursed, lovers of sinning, reprobates, haters of God's Word...etc..

If they are not truly born again of the Spirit of Christ then they are yet still in the flesh, and still in the old man sin nature, and if they are still living in ongoing sin and committing sin they are in fact still servants of sin, as this will also confirm if one is still in the flesh. Just because someone says they are born again and "in Christ" does not make it so, you will know them by their fruit. You are a servant to whom you obey, either of sin unto death, or obedience unto righteousness.

Romans 8:9

But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his."

See, he denies the continued influence of the flesh in the Christians life. Which makes Gods exhortation for Christians to, "walk by the Spirit so as to not fulfill the desires of the flesh" a mistake and meaningless drivel.

[SUP]19 [/SUP]Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,

[SUP]20 [/SUP]Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,
[SUP]21 [/SUP]Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God."

A servant of sin shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

In your one post about abiding...

We are born again of His Spirit and our abiding is in (a fixed position according to greek) Him. Jesus was speaking to His disciples not yet born of Spirit when He spoke about this.

So what we are is dead...the Cross has taken it away with His death, and His resurrection is our new creation Spiritual man.

This is the place of argument with the others here ISIT.

I said all this before. You cannot abide in two places, only One. We are either natural man or Spiritual man.

That is the truth.

You have the Genesis part correct and some revelation of Revelations.

Romans 8:13

For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.

"For the desires of the flesh are against the Spirit, and the desires of the Spirit are against the flesh, for these are opposed to each other, to keep you from doing the things you want to do." Galatians 5:17

Here is a thread that discusses - just what does it mean to "inherit the kingdom" seeing as we switched to that subject?

Here is the link to the thread:

http://christianchat.com/bible-disc...e-what-does-mean-does-heaven-hell-depend.html

What if someone slanders others in the body of Christ for a month - if they died would they go straight to hell - because that is in the "list" of "things like these"?

What about those with gluttony? What about those that cause divisions...and those that have outbursts of anger? What if someone has outbursts of anger for a week - they die tonight - do these go to hell?

They that
"do these things" ( Gal. 5:20 ) is in the present tense whether it's one time or on-going because the present is always the present.

I know one thing - if our eternal destination was dependent on
"things like these" - I would like to know exactly what "all these things like these are"...

There are many such things to look at in this subject. Sometimes our church teachings have become established in our minds and they might not be what we think they are.

You are actually doing the same thing as those in Galatians.

We can't begin in Spirit then turn to flesh. We can sin true. But, it has consequences. And that's called carnal.

I saw a post one time on another forum. This person said that the failings should be less and less as we mature.

I think that's wise. Not sure if this is what he is trying to say.

Which means the flesh is still active and having an influence.

That's why we reckon or think of flesh as past and gone. I think all things are positional...because weve been given all we need for godliness, but then Holy Spirit begins His process of working this out.

Its a rare person who would win the high calling of God in Christ Jesus while on earth. That is an Enoch thing.

Should be less? Perhaps. All I know is that I recognize both my failings and my need for Jesus more and more as I mature, not less and less.

Yes I agree, if all the old things have passed away and all things have now become new, then the old man of sin is dead and gone. Those who teach a dual nature are teaching a "double minded man" who as is written is unstable in all his ways.

For the Christian the "old man" is dead and gone, and that old sin nature is gone, but the flesh remains.

A servant of sin shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

Those born again are not servants. That is under law. Sons inherit the house of God. You yourself posted about the nature of the beast. That is gone. Sheep no longer, which is just belief in God but children born of His Spirit.

This is the difference between physical Israel, and Spiritual Israel.

We don't mix wool and linen else the garment is weak.
