Democracy is not a perfect system, but it's much better than dictatorship.
I think because NZ doesn't really have a consitution, just a treaty, our elections are every 3 years and its just flip flops all the time depending on which party has the majority, and both sides hate each other. So nothing really gets done. When one gets in power, the opposition can't do anything, and when they get in, they just dismantle everything the previous one implemented, so nothing stays consistent.

This is really hard for things like hospitals and schools and infrastructure, things we rely on to get by, if one day funding is there, the next it's not, or all the curriculum changes teachers are always lumped with.

Italians and French eat so well because they can grow things year round.
Those who live in the UK< if they want tomatoes out of season, they get them from Spain, but even Spain grows them in plastic covered hothouses for year round supply.

I wish people with successful marriages (first spouses to each other for their lifetime so far) would chime in. I think it would be helpful if they give us tips and examples of commitment to each other.

oh yes they do. around here, its true. maybe thru out America as a whole you are correct. but by far, you are correct.

It's vows. In the Bible Jesus said if you can't make a vow, then don't do it. You need to be true to your word and promises.
Marriage contracts are not signed in blood.
Covenants were..you sacrificed something (often a chicken, or maybe a goat, or lamb)

i hear you on that. here, dems hate repubs & vis-a-versa. crookedness is huge. "nothing really gets done"! massiv3ely true in America. its 99% talk & no action. that's why many people don't claim they're whole income. they feel if the government can cheat, they can to.

But what are people doing to make themselves good future spouses? I posted this thread to talk about how we can become better spouses before we actually get married so that that the marriage lasts for their lifetime.

We tell God what we want our spouses to be like, but not do anything to be a good spouse to them?

that's such a wise suggestion. got it. i'll say that the number 1 thing should be that a spouse should ALWAYS place the other spouse ahead of him or her. by course, a relationship with Jesus as born again Christians is 1st. i found out a long time ago in life, if i have to do something a repeat strategy works. keep reminding yourself of duty to mankind. enjoy Bible reading sessions together. there's so much to say. in america, selfishness is gigantic disease!!!

as i say, there's so much to say. here's another one: if she says something & you are in another room, get up & go to her. that can take a lot because you are relaxed, you don't want to get up. btw, how did my lettering gat darker? what did i do for that to happen? strange.
