No. I don't ever sin. How can I be so bold as to say such a thing ? you might ask. It's because the bible says I don't, and I believe the bible. IJohn 3:9: "Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God." AND 5:18: we know that whosever is born of God sinneth not; but he that is begotten of God keepeth himself, and that wicked one toucheth him not."
The problem we're having is in the reason why you cannot sin. Of course, "all have sinned and come short of the glory of God" (Romans 3:23) so none of us are sinless in ourselves but Jesus washes away our sins once we recieve Him and believe in Him and therefore become "born of God".
John says in the first chapter of his epistle "If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us." (1:8) I am not saying I have never sinned. But then John goes on to say: If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." So you do have to admit you're a sinner and need Jesus to save you, ask Him for forgiveness and believe in His blood sacrifice for your sins then He will cleanse you from all unrighteousness, sins, etc. and automatically impute righteousness upon you by faith. Then from then on you cannot sin because you are born of God. All glory and Praise be to Jesus not to ourselves.
You keep asking the question, "So you don't ever sin?" Well, I come right back at you, "So you're saying you do sin even after receiving Jesus and becoming born again? You don't think Jesus' blood sacrifice was good enough for you? You don't think He was faithful and just to wash away your sins once you believe in Him? Do you think you have to do something yourself to help save you? Jesus' sacrifice wasn't good enough for you? Slap Him in the face with it, will you?
Here's another couple of verses from IJohn for you: "And ye know
that He was manifested to take away our sins; and in Him is no sin. Whosoever
abideth in Him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not seen Him, neither known Him" 3:5-6
If you think you still sin even after receiving Jesus and being born of God, then you don't really know Jesus. The bible says so. The reason a person who is born of God is sinless and righteous is because Jesus has taken away all their sins.[/QUOTE
Too well put, and I see this truth to this day present, and it took many years to get to this truth as it is truth, he was manifested to take away the believers sin, and many as I was are fighting for this to be, not seeing or realizing it is not taken away, because of our flesh taught stubbornness to try to do and get pats on the back when others think we do it right.
A self will-worship that gets others noticing as if we are doing it right, or not noticed and the feeling of not belonging takes hold through one emotions, and steals, kills and destroys us.
How many of us have two faces, one to the multitude, and the other to self? And are doing there best to not have the one to self, being most miserable or are self righteous as Saul was before he changed to Paul, having no confidence in flesh, self or others. Only Confidence in The finished work of the cross, starting at crucified, self to be crucified with Christ. therefore as Paul got crucified to self the result was
- 1 Corinthians 1:18
[ Christ Crucified Is God’s Power and Wisdom ] For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.
- 1 Corinthians 1:23 but we preach Christ crucified: a stumbling block to Jews and foolishness to Gentiles,
- 1 Corinthians 2:2 For I resolved to know nothing while I was with you except Jesus Christ and him crucified.
- Galatians 5:24 Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.
- Galatians 6:14 May I never boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, through which the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world.
Galatians 2:20 I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.
The above verses is for all that believe, the sooner one decides to be crucified to self with Christ's death at the cross, the sooner one begins to see the new life given to you by God
Re read rom 6, then 7, and then 8, slowly verse by verse and ask yourself ?'s and hear God tell you in your new Heart that God has put there the first day of belief, that you might have forgotten about, but God never leaves or forsakes anyone that believes.
And by this belief, one does stop sin(s), not actually us, it is God that actually does it by God living through us, not only in us as when God was just in us , the Lamp (Christ) was hidden, and not on the Lampstand for all to see. The Lampstand is one's mind that is in the process of being renewed to see things from God's vantage point YOU are DEAD to SIN, from God and by God through the cross of Christ, made Holy by:
Colossians 1:22 in the body of His flesh through death, to present you holy, and blameless, and above reproach in His sight—
So please be crucified with Christ so that you can see the new life
[h=3]Philippians 3[/h]New King James Version (NKJV)
[h=3]All for Christ[/h]3 Finally, my brethren, rejoice in the Lord. For me to write the same things to you is not tedious, but for you it is safe.
[SUP]2 [/SUP]Beware of dogs, beware of evil workers, beware of the mutilation! [SUP]3 [/SUP]For we are the circumcision, who worship God in the Spirit, rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh, [SUP]4 [/SUP]though I also might have confidence in the flesh. If anyone else thinks he may have confidence in the flesh, I more so: [SUP]5 [/SUP]circumcised the eighth day, of the stock of Israel, of the tribe of Benjamin, a Hebrew of the Hebrews; concerning the law, a Pharisee; [SUP]6 [/SUP]concerning zeal, persecuting the church; concerning the righteousness which is in the law, blameless.
[SUP]7 [/SUP]But what things were gain to me, these I have counted loss for Christ. [SUP]8 [/SUP]Yet indeed I also count all things loss for the excellence of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them as rubbish, that I may gain Christ [SUP]9 [/SUP]and be found in Him, not having my own righteousness, which is from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness which is from God by faith; [SUP]10 [/SUP]that I may know Him and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death, [SUP]11 [/SUP]if, by any means, I may attain to the resurrection from the dead.
