Well first I must say I have been absent from here for a long time. My Wife had a bad stroke and was ill for a long time before going to be with her Lord 8 weeks ago. But she is now free from pain and GOD gave us 68 great years together and for that I am thankful. Now back to the subject.
Have you noticed that in the KJV, NKJV, and a number of others that in John 18:5-8 when Jesus faced His accusers it is written that He said “I AM HE”. The word HE is in Italics which denotes that the word was not in the original manuscripts. Actually the whole reading makes much more sense when you leave out the “He”. For in verse 6 when Jesus said “I AM” his accusers fell to the ground. For here Jesus was calling Himself by the same name the Father calls Himself. Jesus not only claims to be GOD, He is GOD. (There are also some other New Testament occasions where “He” has been added).
The invisible Father GOD gave Himself many titles, but claimed two special names for Himself.
In Exodus 3:13,14. God calls Himself “I AM”. -- In many other places in Scripture God is called by the name “YHWH” , but translators for some reason have used Jehovah or GOD in capitals. This appears to hail back to the early Jews reluctance to write, read, or say GOD’S name. It is right of course that we should be very careful how we use GOD’S name.
John 18:5-8 clearly proves that Jesus is GOD.

Jesus is God the only way we can see the invisible God.

The Bible says God was manifest in the flesh, seen of angels, for not even angels can see God unless He shows a visible manifestation of Himself.

When the Bible says God was manifest in the flesh it means He manifest all His attributes to the man Christ Jesus for He is the fulness of the Godhead bodily, and it pleased the Father that in Him all fulness should dwell.

And the Spirit in Christ is still connected to the omnipresent Spirit of God for He cannot be separated.

Jesus does not have His own personal Spirit that moves around with Him for there cannot be a double portion of the Spirit in one area, and a space where the Spirit is not at.

But Jesus walks through the Spirit and wherever He is at the Spirit is there making Him an omnipresent Spirit showing a visible image of Himself.

Which might help people understand that Jesus in the flesh is God despite all of His Spirit cannot fit in to a human body.

The man Christ Jesus is also the personal human body of God for He laid down His life for us, and purchased the Church with His own blood.

Which God reconciled the world unto Himself in the person of Jesus Christ who is God and man in harmony.

The Bible says when the ruler is come He will be from everlasting which means He has no beginning.

The book of Revelation calls Jesus the Almighty.

Thomas called Jesus Lord and God.

Jesus receives worship from the angels which is only reserved for God.

Jesus said before Abraham was I am He, or I am, referring to Him as being God.

Melchizedek was a visible image of God in flesh made from the earth who is without natural decent having no mother, or father, and no beginning of days, and no end of life.

Jesus is made after the order of Melchizedek for He is a visible image of God that was made of a woman, made under the law.

1Ti 6:14 That thou keep this commandment without spot, unrebukeable, until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ:
1Ti 6:15 Which in his times he shall shew, who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings, and Lord of lords;
1Ti 6:16 Who only hath immortality, dwelling in the light which no man can approach unto; whom no man hath seen, nor can see: to whom be honour and power everlasting. Amen.

Jesus dwells in the light that no person can approach unto, and no person has ever seen Him, and no person will ever see Him, for He is an invisible Spirit but showed a visible image of Himself.

Jesus is God showing a visible image of Himself but He is God that dwells outside the body.

Yes, "I AM" or "I AM THAT I AM" (which can also be stated as "I will be what I will be") is found in Exodus chapter 3. But did you notice who was in the burning bush? It was "the Angel of the LORD". And who is this person? It is none other than the pre-incarnate Christ, who also told His enemies "Before Abraham was I AM".

The Bible says that no man has seen God (the Father) at any time. But the Angel of the LORD was seen many times by human beings. He is the Son of God, the Lord Jesus Christ before He came to this earth as Jesus of Nazareth. But in Exodus 3 He identified Himself as "the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob" (and in several other ways).

I am is "a" translation of YHWH, if you pleas yo hay vav hay. As far as I have been able to ascertain from the grammar of the name, Yahweh is closely akin to a gerund, that is the noun form of a verb. That verb in Hebrew is Hayay, to will to be. Only Yahweh is capable of being whatever He Wills to be.

This would be natural only to the Maker and Origen of all that is. With this in mind we understand this to mean He will be What He will be, Father, Son, Holy Spirit. The Angel of the Lord would be here also when He appears to various people.

Just as there were Three Angels Who came down to Abraham and Two went to Sodom to wrest judgment there. No one I know of, no matter how intellectual he or she may be can truly explain all of this but all who have faith are freed to belie this.

notice there are no names there but he’s becoming all sufficient and revealing it to them that believed him

when he says I am the good shepherd he’s referring to prophecy when he promised to come and shepherd his sheep because their shepherds were leading them astray

Jesus was announcing to a people that knew these things beforehand

Jesus was saying alot when he spoke because he was speaking to those who knew prophecy like that when he said I’m the good shepherd he’s speaking it in a biblical sense in the fo text of the le and prophets and what they foretold about him like that

Jesus claims that to be an earthly figure only and that he is the true bread that gives life and saves life that feeds the hungry and gives water to the thirsty ( as Moses also did by smiting the rock in disobedience to God and they all drank and were saved of thirst Jesus again claims this was a figure about him

what I mean to say is if we read the old testsment , then hear Jesus words it casts a whole new light and clarity of who he is and what he’s ac try ally saying and meaning in some of his cryptic words and parables or even “ I am the good shepherd “ he’s beginning with what the prophets said and then further revealing this doctrine

ELOHIM [el-oh-heem]: God “Creator, Mighty and Strong” (Genesis 17:7; Jeremiah 31:33) – the plural form of Eloah. Being plural, Elohim which accommodates the doctrine of the Trinity. From the Bible’s first sentence, the superlative nature of God’s power is evident as God (Elohim) speaks the world into existence (Genesis 1:1).

'Elohim' is not one of the 'names' of God, but rather a generic term for a non-physical personal entity. The same term is used of the disembodied spirit of Samuel that appeared when Saul went to the witch of Endor.

Elohim, (Hebrew: God), the God of Israel in the Old Testament. A plural of majesty, the term Elohim—though sometimes used for other deities, such as the Moabite god Chemosh, the Sidonian goddess Astarte, and also for other majestic beings such as angels, kings, judges (the Old Testament shofeṭim), and the Messiah—is usually employed in the Old Testament for the one and only God of Israel, whose personal name was revealed to Moses as YHWH, or Yahweh (q.v.). When referring to Yahweh, elohim very often is accompanied by the article ha-, to mean, in combination, “the God,” and sometimes with a further identification Elohim ḥayyim, meaning “the living God.”

Though Elohim is plural in form, it is understood in the singular sense. Thus, in Genesis the words, “In the beginning God (Elohim) created the heavens and the earth,” Elohim is monotheistic in connotation, though its grammatical structure seems polytheistic. The Israelites probably borrowed the Canaanite plural noun Elohim and made it singular in meaning in their cultic practices and theological reflections.

Elohim may be translated as mighty ones. El is mighty one in general, however regarding Yahweh, it is our Faster, Eloah or, El Yah.

It was used in many peoples before Yahweh told Moses He Is Who He will be. Jhe only "God" of the Jews would be the One they praise, Yah hu dah.
