Brotherly love and the good Samaritan etc , how we treat each other
I am here in a very rural mountain province in the Philippines and not many church options. I am absolutely not RC, which is mainstream.
However, I believe the urgency of delivering Christ's Gospel is paramount in this day and age.
Literally every church and religion carries the brotherly love, good Samaritan and the golden rule message.
Islam, Hindu, most pagans, RC, Mormons, LDS (etc) included.
The universal message the world gives us about Jesus Christ is that he is a god of love and forgiveness
and then just leave it as that.
But that's
only a part of Him.
He's also a jealous God dealing in perfect judgement and eternal punishment of eternal wrath for those who reject Him.
*Give me a sermon about brotherly love, forgiveness and the golden rule and I won't return without a change in leadership.
*Give me a Biblical Gospel of Godly forgiveness through the blood of Jesus Christ, the Father's judgement and burning out the chaff and I'll see you next week.
A sermon lacking all aspects of God as written in His Word leaves the door open to, and encourages the universal belief that we are "good enough" and God will forgive us at the trial.
It's that errant belief I work to dispel.
