I'll be off work mostly next week and will be helping out at church rehearsals for Easter Sunday. The funny thing though, is I was scheduled to report to work on Good Friday, of all the days of the week. Then, I'll visit my aunt on Saturday and spend the day with her, I've seen her 3 times in the last 3 years, and she lives a few blocks away from me! I know! But she's the busier one. She gets lonely most of the time though as she doesn't have a child and she's as old as my mother. Lives with her husband and he's almost always out of the country. Other than that, no other plans in mind yet. Maybe finish try to finish a few books.

How about you? Parties and stuff?

Visit hubby. Make some special for dinner. (Ooo, good excuse to use up the turkey thighs I bought thinking he'd be home before they freezer-burned.)

Our oldest daughter (and the Grand Kid) are coming over from Lubbock to spend Easter with us. Our youngest daughter (and the Grand Kid) live close by, so we will all get to be together. Probably go to the park and hunt Easter eggs after going to our "local church". ;) (for those that have been involved in THAT thread)
It's going to be a fun weekend... God is good...

i'm off Good Friday. we will have church services friday and saturday night. then Easter sunday, we will have sunrise service at 6 AM. after that service, we have a big breakfast at church, which is always awesome :D. then, we have another service at 4 pm :o

We are doing the sunrise service and then helping with other services as we get hundreds of guests. Then everyone (Family, Friends, Friends of family) come to my house, I have an egg hunt for all ages. Hundreds of eggs all over the property, then we swim, BBQ, etc.

Good Friday I'm off from work, meeting an out of town friend for lunch. Good Friday evening I will be attending Winter Jam concert with friends. Saturday evening we have a special Easter event for the singles ministry. I will attend the early Easter service at my church and then host Easter dinner at my house and enjoy time with my children.

Well... we're up in Allen.... we can do barbeque, and I'm sure the grandgirls are going to want to jump in the pool. It's a little early yet, for old Papa....

I think we're just doing a nice dinner after church, I'm not there yet. I have to get through choir performance on Palm Sunday

Got Plans for Easter?

I was born and grew up in Belfast, Northern Ireland and from 1969 until the Good Friday Peace Agreement (signed on (Good Friday) 10th April 1998) there was continuous terrorist violence throughout N Ireland in bombings, shootings, murders, rioting and so forth, quite a lot of this occured in West Belfast on the Shankill and Falls Roads, so this Good Friday Christians, (both Protestant and Catholic) will carry large crosses and walk down the Falls Road, across onto the Shankill Road, then over to the Springfield Road and finish where we started from, then we'll go and have coffee, tea, sandwiches etc to warm up!

I did this for the first time last year, and as we walked we gave out small crosses to all the that we passed in the shops, houses and on the footpaths, not 1 person refused to take a cross, and I have to say it was a most enjoyable way to spend a Good Friday, for not so long ago, some of the most violent and hideous (terrorist) crimes occured around the area through which we will be walking.

On Easter Sunday, I'll go down to cousins in the West of the Province, and then on Easter Monday I'm going to my cousin's wedding, he's a Presbyterian minister and is marrying rather late in life, he's 49 and she's....26, but they are well suited to each other and are good for each other, especially she for him!

This is how I'll spend Easter 2016!

I'll be making music. Our church is hosting the multi-church service this year on Good Friday (we alternate years with another congregation which has a large facility). Usually there are about 4-500 people in each of two services. I'll be the one with the acoustic guitar... hopefully there are no technical problems this time like there were last Sunday! I'm on for Resurrection Sunday as well, so I'll be enjoying a rest afterward.

I'll go to church in the morning and probably watch some NCAA basketball when I get home. Maybe catch some of a golf tournament in the afternoon.
