GODS WORD,

Acts 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

Junk mail,
Acts 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, have faith.
Junk gospel. Your pet verse (Acts 2:38) must be read alongside other verses like (Luke 24:47; Acts 3:19; 5:31; 10:43-47; 11:17,18; 13:38-39; 15:7-9; 16:31; 26:18) where forgiveness is explicitly tied to repentance/belief/faith and not baptism. You must look beyond your pet verses and consider the totality of scripture.

Luke 24:47 - and that repentance for the forgiveness of sins should be proclaimed in his name to all nations, beginning from Jerusalem. *What happened to baptism?

Acts 3:19 - Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord. *What happened to baptism?

Acts 5:31 - Him God has exalted to His right hand to be Prince and Savior, to give repentance to Israel and forgiveness of sins. *What happened to baptism?

Acts 10:43 - Of Him all the prophets bear witness that through His name everyone who believes in Him receives forgiveness of sins. *What happened to baptism?

Acts 11:17 - If therefore God gave them the same gift (Holy Spirit) as He gave us when we believed on the Lord Jesus Christ, who was I that I could withstand God?” 18 When they heard these things they became silent; and they glorified God, saying, “Then God has also granted to the Gentiles repentance unto life.” *What happened to baptism?

Acts 13:38 - Therefore, let it be known to you, brethren, that through this Man is preached to you the forgiveness of sins; 39 and by Him everyone who believes is justified from all things from which you could not be justified by the law of Moses. *What happened to baptism?

Acts 15:7 - And when there had been much dispute, Peter rose up and said to them: “Men and brethren, you know that a good while ago God chose among us, that by my mouth the Gentiles should hear the word of the gospel and believe. 8 So God, who knows the heart, acknowledged them by giving them the Holy Spirit, just as He did to us, 9 and made no distinction between us and them, purifying their hearts by faith. *What happened to baptism?

Acts 16:30 - And he brought them out and said, “Sirs, what must I do to be saved?” 31 So they said, “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household.” *What happened to baptism?

Acts 26:18 - to open their eyes, in order to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and an inheritance among those who are sanctified by faith in Me. *What happened to baptism? *Hermeneutics.

*So, the only logical and Biblical conclusion when properly harmonizing scripture with scripture is that faith in Jesus Christ "implied in repentance" (rather than water baptism) gets rid of our sins. (Luke 24:47; Acts 2:38; 3:19; 5:31; 10:43-47; 11:17,18; 13:38-39; 15:7-9; 16:31; 26:18) *Perfect Harmony*

Ok something we can work with, thank you.

Looking at those verse. Romans 5:1 and Eph.

How about we set some ground rules.

1. Are we still born in sin?

2. Will sin enter Heaven?

James 2:14, No reason for you to tell me what HIS word says, just stick with HIS word PLEASE.

I ask because those veres you shared are adressed to church leaders not the unsaved, do you debate that?

Lk 24:
47 Jesus said repentance & remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.

48 And you are witnesses of these things.

49 ""I will send the promise of my Father upon you"": but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high.

Acts 1:8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Spirit is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

Acts 1:5 Jesus Says, John baptized with water; but you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days hence.

10 days later Acts 2:4 they were filled with the Holy Spirit.

Acts 10:44 While Peter spoke (Acts 1:24 & 15:8) the Holy Spirit fell on all the gentiles which heard the word.

Acts 10:45 Peter & other believing Jews are ASTONISHED that Jesus baptizes Gentiles with His salvation sealing, eternal life giving Holy Spirit.

Acts 11:17 Peter says God GAVE/baptized the gentiles who believed on the Lord Jesus Christ in/by/with the Holy Spirit

Acts 15:8 God, which knoweth the hearts, bare them witness, giving them the Holy Ghost, even as he did unto us; at Pentecost > before water

Acts 2:21 (B) whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.

Rom 10:13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

Gal 14 That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might """receive the promise of the Holy Spirit through faith""".

Jn 1:12 But as many as received him/BELIEVED, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, """even to them that believe on his name""":

Acts 10:45 Ten years after Pentecost Jesus (only He can) baptizes gentiles with His FOREVER (Jn 14:16) salvation SEALING (Eph 1:13-14, 4:30, 2 Cor 1:22, 5:5,) eternal life diving Holy Spirit. Jesus Himself establishes the universal Body of Christ (Jew & Gentile) entry sequence. Hear > Believe > receive the Holy Spirit > water.

1 Cor 12:13 For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.

Eph 1:13 In Him, you also, when you heard the word of truth, the good news of your salvation, and [as a result] believed in Him, were stamped with the seal of the promised Holy Spirit [the One promised by Christ] as owned and protected [by God].

14 The Spirit is the guarantee [the first installment, the pledge, a foretaste] of our inheritance until the redemption of God’s own [purchased] possession [His believers], to the praise of His glory.

Vs13 HEAR > BELIEVE > RECEIVE. Vs14 The Holy Spirit is the guarantee you're FOREVER SAVED!

His word says - What use is it, my brethren, if someone says (or claims) he has faith but he has no works? Can that faith save him? The answer to that rhetorical question is NO. What kind of faith is that? Bare profession of faith.

I ask because those veres you shared are adressed to church leaders not the unsaved, do you debate that?
None of the NT letters are addressed directly to the unsaved, but its not hard to find the unsaved/make believers mixed in with the saved.

I don't ignore James 2:24 and
James is not using the word "justified" in James 2:24 to mean "accounted as righteous" but is shown to be righteous. James is discussing the evidence of faith (says-claims to have faith but has no works/I will show you my faith by my works - James 2:14-18) and not the initial act of being accounted as righteous with God. (Romans 4:2-3) Not to be confused with faith that trusts in Jesus Christ alone for salvation. (Romans 4:5-6; Ephesians 2:8,9)

Man is saved through faith and not by works (Romans 4:5-6; Ephesians 2:8,9); yet genuine faith is (evidenced) by works. (James 2:14-24)

*Christ saves us through faith based on the merits of His finished work of redemption "alone" and not based on the merits of our works. (Romans 3:24-28; Titus 3:5; 2 Timothy 1:9) Hence, FAITH (rightly understood in Jesus Christ) ALONE.

It is through faith "in Jesus Christ alone" (and not based on the merits of our works) that we are justified on account of Christ (Romans 4:5-6; 5:1; 5:9); yet the faith that justifies does not remain alone (unfruitful, barren) if it is genuine. (James 2:14-24) *Perfect Harmony*

How about a little context. In James 2:14, we read of one who says/claims he has faith but has no works (to evidence his claim). That is not genuine faith, but a bare profession of faith. So when James asks, "Can that faith save him?" he is saying nothing against genuine faith, but only against an empty profession of faith/dead faith. *So James does not teach that we are saved "by" works. His concern is to show the reality of the faith professed by the individual (James 2:18) and demonstrate that the faith claimed (James 2:14) by the individual is genuine. Simple!
If you have to tell me what the words mean then the world's are meaningless and we should just listen to you. Or we could just read the read and here what they say rather than what you say.

Attention Book Of James Salvation By Works Promoters

The AMP translators tells you exactly what ""completed"" means > ""reaching its maturity"" (2:22), not becoming saving faith & when James says ""not by faith alone,"" the AMP translators explain that this means ITS THRU ACTS OF OBEDIENCE AN ALREADY BORN-AGAIN BELIEVER REVEALS THEIR FAITH (2:24). If you claim James teaches salvation by works, you're not refuting me. You're rejecting the AMP Bible's own clarifications that: works express, reveal & mature faith, but never save anyone.

Anyone claiming James teaches salvation by works has to reject the AMP's own wording, because James defines works as ""evidence"" (2:14), says they simply ""show"" faith (2:18) & calls them ""works of obedience which expressed his faith"" (2:21).

James is writing to already SAVED people (2:1). He's is not explaining to the already SAVED brothers & sisters how to get saved.

Every verse below is a direct C&P from the Amplified Bible (AMP) Bible. Their translators wrote/placed the brackets of emphasis.

James 1:
To the twelve [Hebrew] tribes [scattered abroad among the Gentiles] in the dispersion: Greetings (rejoice)!

2 Consider it nothing but joy, MY BROTHERS AND SISTERS,

James 2:
1 MY FELLOW BELIEVERS, do not practice your faith in our glorious Lord Jesus Christ with an attitude of partiality [toward people—show no favoritism, no prejudice, no snobbery].

2 For if a man comes into your meeting place wearing a gold ring and fine clothes, and a poor man in dirty clothes also comes in,

3 and you pay special attention to the one who wears the fine clothes, and say to him, “You sit here in this good seat,” and you tell the poor man, “You stand over there, or sit down [on the floor] by my footstool,”

4 have you not discriminated among yourselves, and become judges with wrong motives?

5 Listen, MY BELOVED BROTHERD AND SISTERS: has not God chosen the poor of this world to be rich in faith and [as believers to be] heirs of the kingdom which He promised to those who love Him?

6 But you [in contrast] have dishonored the poor man. Is it not the rich who oppress and exploit you, and personally drag you into the courts of law?

7 Do they not blaspheme the precious name [of Christ] by which you are called?

8 If, however, you are [really] fulfilling the royal law according to the Scripture, “YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF [that is, if you have an unselfish concern for others and do things for their benefit]” you are doing well.

9 But if you show partiality [prejudice, favoritism], you are committing sin and are convicted by the Law as offenders.

10 For whoever keeps the whole Law but stumbles in one point, he has become guilty of [breaking] all of it.

11 For He who said, “DO NOT COMMIT ADULTERY,” also said, “DO NOT MURDER.” Now if you do not commit adultery, but you murder, you have become guilty of transgressing the [entire] Law.

12 Speak and act [consistently] as people who are going to be judged by the law of liberty [that moral law that frees obedient Christians from the bondage of sin].

13 For judgment will be merciless to one who has shown no mercy; but [to the one who has shown mercy] mercy triumphs [victoriously] over judgment.

Faith and Works
14 What is the benefit, MY FELLOW BELIEVERS, if someone claims to have faith but has no [good] works [as evidence]? Can that [kind of] faith save him? [No, a mere claim of faith is not sufficient—genuine faith produces good works.]

15 If a brother or sister is without [adequate] clothing and lacks [enough] food for each day,

16 and one of you says to them, “Go in peace [with my blessing], [keep] warm and feed yourselves,” but he does not give them the necessities for the body, what good does that do?

17 So too, faith, if it does not have works [to back it up], is by itself dead [inoperative and ineffective].

18 But someone may say, “You [claim to] have faith and I have [good] works; show me your [alleged] faith without the works [if you can], and I will show you my faith by my works [that is, by what I do].”

19 You believe that God is one; you do well [to believe that]. The demons also believe [that], and shudder and bristle [in awe-filled terror—they have seen His wrath]!

20 But are you willing to recognize, you foolish [spiritually shallow] person, that faith without [good] works is useless?

21 Was our father Abraham not [shown to be] justified by works [of obedience which expressed his faith] when he offered Isaac his son on the altar [as a sacrifice to God]?

22 You see that [his] faith was working together with his works, and as a result of the works, his faith was completed [reaching its maturity when he expressed his faith through obedience].

23 And the Scripture was fulfilled which says, “ABRAHAM BELIEVED GOD, AND THIS [faith] WAS CREDITED TO HIM [by God] AS RIGHTEOUSNESS and AS CONFORMITY TO HIS WILL,” and he was called the friend of God.

24 You see that a man (believer) is justified by works and not by faith alone [that is, by acts of obedience a born-again believer reveals his faith].

25 In the same way, was Rahab the prostitute not justified by works too, when she received the [Hebrew] spies as guests and protected them, and sent them away [to escape] by a different route?

26 For just as the [human] body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works [of obedience] is also dead.
Another thread of your belief in volume = truth. You claim you never do this but this is the second one of these types of posts I've seen from you since i pointed out this logical error to you.

That's not the problem though the problem is your inability to think beyond what has apparently been programmed into you. Two things you posted lead me to believe thats true.

1. At the top you posted "Attention Book Of James Salvation By Works Promoters"

2. "Anyone claiming James teaches salvation by works ..."

Simply put no one believes salvation is through works so you either don't bother to read or you are incapable of understanding what people are writing/saying to you. You've been trained to use specific responses when you see/read certain things and in this case "works". I fear youu don't understand the verses you just repeat the verses but either way claiming people are pushing a works based salvation is a mistake at best of a lie at worse.

I understand just fine because I can read. What you would need to do is show evidence that your understanding of Scripture is authoritative. I havent seen anything like that from you thus far so I have a choice to make. I can read Scripture with the brain God gave me or I could listen to you, someone who has made unsubstantiated claims of possessing authoritative biblical knowledge. Hmmm give me second.....

Ok so we agree we are born in sin!

Also sin will not enter heaven.

So how does Romans 5:1 and Ephesians 2:8

Prove are sins are goon?

So, according to you, justified/accounted as righteous (Romans 5:1) and saved through faith (Ephesians 2:8) = still lost and in our sins?

Keeping our opionion out of it, does it say our sins are forgiven or remitted?

Foudation has to be solid, no guessing at all, do you see sins being remitted?

If we are justified/accounted as righteous/saved then our sins are remitted.

Acts 10:43 - Of Him all the prophets bear witness that through His name everyone who believes in Him receives forgiveness of sins.

Acts 13:38 - Therefore let it be known to you, brethren, that through this Man is preached to you the forgiveness of sins; 39 and by Him everyone who believes is justified from all things  from which you could not be justified by the law of Moses.

Acts 26:18 - to open their eyes, in order to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and an inheritance among those who are sanctified by faith in Me.

Sharing these scriputurs, do they help prove Romans and Eph removes our sins?

Do you think when HIS word says believes in HIM that it means just in HIM or what HE says?

These verses don't tell how we remove our sins either.

You say, "If we are justified/accounted as righteous/saved then our sins are remitted"

So keep it simple, how do we get justified as righteous?

If you say just believe then share two or more verses that says when we beleive our sins are remitted.

Acts 10:43 is close but we know when we put that in context we know the very next thing that happened is JESUS filled them with the Holy Ghost (Acts2:4 and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance)

And of course they were baptized.

Acts 13 They are speaking about JESUS preaching forgivness of sins and BY HIM if you believe is justified from all things.

Again believe in JESUS or what HE says?

Acts 26:18 just before verse 17 Delivering thee from the people, and from the Gentiles, unto whom now I send thee,

Paul is being sent to the Gentiles to get them to see so they we trun from their evil ways nothing about how we get rid of our sins BUT IN HOPE THEY WILL.

End result NONE OF THESE verese tell how we get rid of sins.

So keep it simple,

1. how do we get justified as righteous?

Believes in Him means placing our personal trust, faith, and reliance in Jesus Christ for salvation and the forgiveness of sins. Instead of believing in Him, you believe in baptism and speaking in tongues for salvation and the forgiveness of sins.

These verses don't tell how we remove our sins either.
Sure, they do. Everyone who believes in Him receives forgiveness of sins, through this Man is preached to you the forgiveness of sins; and by Him everyone who believes is justified from all things  from which you could not be justified by the law of Moses, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and an inheritance among those who are sanctified by faith in Me is crystal clear.

You say, "If we are justified/accounted as righteous/saved then our sins are remitted"
Absolutely.

So keep it simple, how do we get justified as righteous?
By believing in Him/faith.
If you say just believe then share two or more verses that says when we believe our sins are remitted.
Acts 10:43; 13:38-39; Acts 26:18 faith in Me. Other verses say repentance (Luke 24:47; Acts 3:19; 5:31) and when repentance is used, belief/faith is implied or assumed. Two sides to the same coin.

Acts 10:43 is close but we know when we put that in context we know the very next thing that happened is JESUS filled them with the Holy Ghost (Acts2:4 and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance)
Acts 10:43 is spot on. The context does not change what was said in Acts 10:43. Peter did not say whoever speaks in tongues and gets baptized receives the forgiveness of sins.

And of course they were baptized.
AFTER they believed, received the gift of the Holy Spirit and the spiritual gift of tongues (which is ONLY for the body of Christ - 1 Corinthians 12) and were saved BEFORE water baptism.

Acts 13 They are speaking about JESUS preaching forgiveness of sins and BY HIM if you believe is justified from all things.
Again, believes in Him, placing our personal trust, faith, and reliance in Jesus Christ for salvation and the forgiveness of sins. Romans 3:24 - Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: 25 Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God; 26 To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believes in Jesus.

Again believe in JESUS or what HE says?
Believes in Jesus and not simply believe what you want Him to say.

Those verses certainly do tell us how we get rid of sins. You simply refuse to accept the truth.

So keep it simple,
It is simple but you make it complicated.

If your going down that road then you need to share scripture where being justified as righteous removes our sins.

2 How do we get rid of our sins.

3. Do you think when HIS word says believes in HIM that it means just in HIM or what HE says?
If you truly believe in Him by placing personal trust, faith, and reliance in Jesus Christ for salvation and the forgiveness of sins then you will believe what He says and not simply what you want Him to say. Romans 4:5 - But to him who does not work but believes on Him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is accounted for righteousness, 6 just as David also describes the blessedness of the man to whom God imputes righteousness apart from works: Romans 5:1 - Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. How could you be justified and have peace with God but still be in your sins?

I really want to stick on how we get rid of our sins without all of this talking.

Just scriptrue, show scripture to back up, "Everyone who believes in Him receives forgiveness of sins"

Make sure the scripture says EXALTY that.

The only question I will ask you is if it does not say sins are removed why would you say it does and I will not accept it?

How do we get rid of sins?

I would share Acts 2:38 and 22:16 but you would just call them my pet verses so you show my your verses that say the same thing.

Acts 2:38 and Acts 22:16 are your pet verses that you disregard the totality of scripture for. Again, Acts 2:38 must be read alongside verses like (Luke 24:47; Acts 3:19; 5:31; 10:43-47; 11:17,18; 13:38-39; 15:7-9; 16:31; 26:18) where forgiveness is explicitly tied to repentance/belief/faith and not water baptism.

In Acts 22:16, the cleansing happens as he calls on Christ, not by the water itself. The water is symbolic; the appeal to Christ’s name is the saving act. Romans 10:13 - For whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.

The remission of sins has three applications: 1. Literally, by the blood of Christ - Matthew 26:28 2. Experientially, by faith in Christ - Acts 26:18 3. Figuratively, by water baptism - Acts 22:16

Excellent article on Acts 22:16 - WHAT IS TRUTH: Acts 22:16--Baptism Essential for Salvation?

*So, the only logical and Biblical conclusion when properly harmonizing scripture with scripture is that faith in Jesus Christ "implied in repentance" (rather than water baptism) brings the remission of sins and the gift of the Holy Spirit. (Luke 24:47; Acts 2:38; 3:19; 5:31; 10:43-47; 11:17,18; 13:38-39; 15:7-9; 16:31; 26:18) *Perfect Harmony*

Takes a lot of taking to stand on something that just does not fit in HIS word.

You agree we are born in sin.

You agree sin will not enter Heaven.

You have NOT provied any scripture where in fact says sins are remitted.

Just becuse the words sin or faith or repent is in a spicific verse does not prove that sins are remitted in that verse taking them out of context.

For some reason you cut out the only two verse that say how sins are remitted, who knows why?

Don't like how JESUS set it up how we get rid of our sins?

If we are to die with him, the only way to do it is in the water!!!

NOTHING, NOTHING lives WITHOUT WATER, NOTHING.

Romans 6:4 Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.

When we die, if you want to raise with HIM you need to die with HIM NOW.

If you can show me any verse which state very cleary "FAITH ALONE REMOVES OUR SINS" that would help you see.

Instead of harmonizing HIS word, you should just OBEY HIS WORD.

Before mentioning baptism in chapter 6, Paul had repeatedly emphasized that faith, not baptism is the instrumental cause of salvation/justification. (Romans 1:16, 3:22-30; 4:4-6, 13; 5:1) That is when the old man was put to death and united in the likeness of His death, which water baptism symbolizes and pictures. Righteousness is "imputed to us who believe in Him who raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead, who was delivered up because of our offenses, and was raised up because of our justification." (Romans 4:24,25)

Paul is simply explaining the symbolism of the ordinance. A symbol is not the reality but a picture of the reality. Since believers receive the benefits of Christ’s death and resurrection (justification), and that through faith, believers must be spiritually united to Him (delivered and raised up with Him). If baptism is taken as the instrumental cause, then Paul contradicts what he had established before, namely that justification is by faith, not baptism. *Hermeneutics.

I have already provided you with multiple passages of scripture where in fact sins are remitted through repentance/belief/faith (Luke 24:47; Acts 3:19; 5:31; Acts 10:43; 13:38-39; 26:18) but you continue to disregard those passages of scripture for a couple of pet verses. If you don't properly harmonize scripture with scripture before reaching your conclusion on doctrine then, you will not properly interpret scripture and you will just end up obeying your biased church doctrine instead of His word. You would walk around mountains of grace in order to find water. You need to place your faith in the Savior God for salvation and not the water god.
