Been searching for verses regarding divorce! , ive prayed for the lord to put a godly man in my life, this man is serving God but is married. I need scripture please and prayer

Jesus said Moses gave the grounds for divorce because their hearts
were hard. In other words, no divorce except for infidelity, or you
commit adultery, which is breaking one of the ten commandments.
Actually if he is lusting after you, he has already committed adultery.

If he's married, you have no business going after him or trying to destroy his marriage. Leave him alone and tell him to leave you alone. A MARRIED man is NOT a man that GOD would put into your life.

There is yet another grounds for biblical divorce, besides sexual infidelity (1 Cor 7:12-16)- if one spouse (this applies equally to M or F) is an unbeliever, they may leave and the believing spouse is not required to seek reconciliation "...let him leave; the brother or the sister is not under bondage in such cases". By context (because Paul addresses it explicitly in previous scenarios) the believing spouse is allowed to remarry. This does not however mean the believer may expel the unbelieving spouse for unbelief. It only applies to the unbeliever leaving of their own free will.

So sexual infidelity and unbelief--under certain conditions--are grounds for biblical divorce.

I know you are in a turmoil--I've been there too--and I hope you find a peaceful resolution. Just know that God will not send you someone else's husband.

God will hear your prayer for a godly man but this man that you're interested in is married and is off-limits. You will be even happier with the man that God may find for you. Glad to have you join us. Welcome to CC.

It would be an act of adultery to pursue that man. Here is the only grounds for divorce I am aware of:

And I say to you: whoever divorces his wife, except for unchastity, and marries another, commits adultery." Matt 19:9 RSV

In this wicked world that we live in people are always getting divorced because the wife caught her husband with another woman, or the husband caught his wife with another man. Anyway Christians are not supposed be acting like the world. Married Christians should not be practicing adultery, but to be faithful to their spouse. SingleChristians must continue to stay pure and to resist sexual temptation. Being single sucks, but I believe that God will bless me with a good Christian woman that will love me and treat me right. Good women are hard to find. 1Cor6:15 Do you not know that your bodies are members of Christ? Shall I then take the members of Christ and make them members of a harlot? Certainly not! Verse 16 Or do you not know that he who is joined to a harlot is one body with her? For the two, He says, shall become one flesh. Verse 17 But he who is joined to the Lord is one spirit with Him. 18-20 Flee sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God's. To God be the Glory.

God hates divorce (Malachi 2:16).

So if he is really a godly man, you must look elswhere for your husband, IMO.

What about Mark 10:4, matthew 26:41, matthew 5:31, isaiah 50:1??

I am not pursuing him at this point, i am asking for spiritual guidance, thank you

Mark 10:4
They said, "Moses permitted a man to write a certificate of divorce and send her away."

"It was because your hearts were hard that Moses wrote you this law," Jesus replied...
Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate."

Mark 10:5, 9

It was only temporary exception given by Moses to Jews. Nothing applicable for us Christians today.

Matthew 26:41
"Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak."

Not sure what you mean by this verse.

Matthew 5:31
"It has been said, 'Anyone who divorces his wife must give her a certificate of divorce.'

"But I tell you that anyone who divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality, makes her the victim of adultery, and anyone who marries a divorced woman commits adultery."
Matthew 5:32

Similar to Mark 10:4 - we, as Christians, are not bound by OT law and OT exceptions. For us Matthew 5:32 is actual and valid commandment.

Is 50:1
"This is what the LORD says: "Where is your mother's certificate of divorce with which I sent her away?"

This is a figure of speech, its about Israel as a nation, so again I am not sure what you want to say by it.

At this point or any future point....don't enter a relationship with a married man.

Or be the reason he gets a divorce.

The best spiritual advice we can give you is to not look upon this man with lust or envy. He's married and you need to look elsewhere for the man God has for you.

God would never tell us to commit adultery. If that man dumps his wife for you, that's what you both will be doing.

He has been in a loveless marriage for years before he met me

If he is married and flirting with other women, then he is NOT a godly man. Just a wolf in sheep's clothing.

He needs to get his marriage right, not search for grounds to commit adultery.

If he was in a truly loveless marriage, he would have already divorced instead of keeping her around until he could trade in for a newer model...in 10 years he will probably try,and do the same again...that or he is stringing you along with a couple of his other side dishes.

Why think about dating a man who doesn't value marriage?

I know lots of people that are stuck in a loveless marriage for financial reasons , i dont believe God wants us to be unhappy, stressed with anxiety, a victim to verbal abuse, she is not submitting or doing her obligations as a wife. There would be no divorce ever , she has already commited adultry and he stayed and forgave her. I dont think God wants him to carry this cross and be miserable

I would suggest that he needs to make a final choice with her and work it out or not before even thinking of anyone else. He needs to make this choice on his own and deal with it with her. With or without you. It's a sad situation even more so if it's a situation where he will only leave her if he gets you.

He chose to stay and supposedly forgive her.

Yet he is talking to you and you have designs to convince him to leave his wife for you?

Staying married for the money is a cop out.

I would live in a tent in the woods and be basically homeless if I felt that God wanted me to be alone instead of married.

God provides for His children and material wealth isn't everything.

It's doesn't really matter what you think about HIS life. He isn't your husband and HE chooses to stay with his wife.

Move on with your life. Let this torch you have for him burn out, drop it in a deep well. Knock this idol down. Stop worshiping him and start focusing on what God wants for your life instead.

Instead of wasting time talking to, flirting with and being tempted by a married man, make other friends or spend time with other people.

Your relationship "friendship" with this man is toxic since you are lusting after a married man.
