Have churches become too reliant on recovery programs and psychology/psychiatry?

Was the "GRRRRR" directed at me or at the problem? I don't think you and I disagree on this matter.
Every thing happens 4 a reason.people must suffer what they must suffer.There an infinite amount of thing that will destroy our body...of course r soul r more important.
I agree, and I am sorry that I am touchy and emotional about this. To say more would be oversharing. These days I cling to God and work at being pleasing to him. God knows me but I can't trust people. The Psychological folk took liberties they should not have. There is no going back except to rely on God.
Yes this has been my experience too . CPTSD, Borderline PD, eating disorders and OCD. God has used a mixture of direct healing and deliverance therapy and recovery programmes. In fact, He led me to them.
As long as they don't contradict the Bible, and I am careful to filter out the elements that do, it is fine to use these.

A seemingly odd question for a lame man asked by Jesus...or is it?
We usually assume that people want to be healed and be made healthy. That's not actually a good idea.
There's a lot of people who refuse to believe that they are sick. Or.... know that they are sick but don't want to be well...but claim they do the whole time.
Psychology does work for those who want to be well... unfortunately we have a lot of mental health patients practicing as mental health professionals. (Which doesn't help at all)
The role of religious leadership inside of a church is a thankless task. A whole family pays the price for the Dad's calling...just ask the Billy Graham family.

If you are emotional, you have not found God. That is your issue. Take drugs, or accept God, your choice. God gives calm. Nothing phase you, no overwhelming.
