First, howdy and welcome to the forum.

Second, ugh, not this again!

I've always been one for baking
I'm not the grilling kind
Cakes and pies and breads and stuff
That's how I unwind
But when this brother takes the grill
And fills the place with smoke
Magic starts to happen there
This dude ain't no joke

He's got the gift of tongs
He's got the gift of tongs
When this brother's at the grill
You know nothing can go wrong
He's got the gift of tongs

From hot dogs and burgers
To cutlets and fillets
From fish to beef to chicken
This man sure does have his ways
He always knows just when it's done
It's never raw or dry
And when he slaps it on the grill
Just listen to it fry!

He's got the gift of tongs
He's got the gift of tongs
Friendships may not have to have it
But we sure do get along
He's got the gift of tongs

BRIDGE
He never overseasons
He always cleans the grill
And if there's any left-overs
Don't get in my way!
I know that doesn't even rhyme, but seriously... I'm getting the leftovers. Do not question this. You will lose.

He's got the gift of tongs
He's got the gift of tongs
When cakes and pies have puttered out
His grill's still going strong
He's got the gift of tongs

If anyone speaks in tongs, there should be someone to flip the burgers.

We actually had an entire thread about this a while back in the Family Forum!

and if not,,, why not, its in the Bible,

Welcome, @PBR!

Your post even demonstrates why some people don't say if they believe in or speak in tongues.

Some will say it's in the Bible, while others will say the passages used to support it are not being interpreted correctly.

It tends to be a very contentious subject, with people arguing passionately from both sides.

No one ever really "wins" because everyone just digs in their heels, while listing all the Bible passages and sources that they see as proving their point of view.

Speaking in tongues is a subject that comes up many, many times in the Bible Discussion Forum -- if you're looking for more discussion about that topic, you might want to try starting a thread about it there.

It's just the part of the forum where you'll find more people who like to have those kinds of conversations.

This contentious topic of tongs is actually banned/forbidden in some other Christian forums. Anyone speaking of it, either for or against, is breaking the rules and is summarily struck off the member's list.

For real.

It's ok I usually spell it 'tungs'
Its Chinese.
Tong means 'soup' in Chinese. So that don't make any sense. Unless you are praying or saying Grace before a meal, which is what many Christians still do, but I am not sure if they also pray before having snacks. I am supposing it's proper to do this, because the Pharisees got onto Jesus for not washing his hands before a snack of barley ears.

BTW this not to say I'm not a Christian, it's just a custom of most Christians. I just thank God AFTER a meal.

Please forgive me of misspelling.tongues.
Okay, a serious reply:

As a Pentecostal minister, yes I have spoken in other tongues.

"Been baptized in Jesus' name
Spoke in tongues when the Holy Ghost came"

Having said that... I cannot agree with that last line in your first post. It sounds too argumentative, almost combative. It's almost like you're deliberately looking for a debate. And we don't do that here.

If you want to start an argument, I recommend the bible discussion forum. They like to argue about a lot of stuff over there.
