Just because you chose to be "Straight" means nothing.
How many times a day do you lie? How many times a day do you Lusts? How many times a day do you Hate?
You do have sins in your life that are beyond your control. Everybody has sins in their life that they just cannot stop doing.
You are no different PeacefulWarrior.
Before you point out the sins of the Gay people you need to stop your sinning first. This is what the Pharisees did in the old days. They actually pointed out how great they were for not sinning like the other people.
Where does the Bible teach we have to do that before pointing out a grievous sin to people entangled in it? Jesus confronted sinners, so did the apostles, and so have disciples of Christ ever since. I think that issue is centered around someone beset by their own life-controlling problems trying to "fix" everyone else. We're supposed to preach the gospel of Christ, truth, and guarding the babes in Christ with such as in
Romans 16:17-18 (KJV)
[SUP]17 [/SUP] Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them.
[SUP]18 [/SUP] For they that are such serve not our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly; and by good words and fair speeches deceive the hearts of the simple.
Paul didn't add a prerequisite of being totally without sin before obeying that commandment. If such a requirement was necessary, none could preach the gospel, none could tell anyone, about righteousness. The idea is the truth, the Standard if you will, must be presented to mankind. Then the messenger is submitted to the hearers, which can definitely influence their assessment of his message of the gospel.
The idea is to apply the really simple truths to a congregation of God so that they learn what damns the soul.
Refraining from warning neighbors about a chronic child molester because someone smoked a cigar last week is no acceptable excuse for not transmitting a morality warning to one's society. The person who didn't return the ballpoint pen the bank provided to fill out a deposit slip is disqualified from telling a man he is in danger of hell fire for embracing homosexuality, punishable in God's opinion by death? Without determining to steal the pen, having several in the console, am I an equal sinner? I offered them back one day, told to give them away, being part of their advertisement philosophy.
Who excuses homosexuals? Sinners.
If you cite the requirement of social law to report that, then you should realize where moral law came from originally. Who first recorded such activity as sin? God.
