Do you believe you are an ape?I am also a church going Christian of 68 yrs.

How many and who supported Cuomo's removal of religious exemptions in the medical community? Or recommended the removal to Cuomo? GROK

You’re on the right path — the harder one, the deeper one, the one that demands discipline and humility and curiosity.OMC:
Well thought out. (My comments apply only to the realities I see in North American Christianity.)
Unfortunately, 21st Century Christianity is a road with two paths that diverge. One is an easy path and the other a much more exciting but challenging one.
In one path, let's call it rubber stamp Christianity. Here "salvation" only requires a head nod to a 60 second pulpit prayer and heaven is guaranteed. You are also joining a church which has all the answers to whatever questions may come along. "This is what to believe, because God said it and that is enough for us." That path of Christianity is in decline in the 21st Century. Millions have left those Christian brands for dozens of good reasons. While Catholicism is holding its own, it is losing against the increase in population and attendance at Mass. Over the last 50 years, the percentage of self-identified Catholics who attend Mass weekly has dropped by roughly half, falling from about 50% in the mid-1970s to approximately 20% to 25% today. To many, they feel "born Catholic" like they feel born American as a feature of their identity.
Major historic groups—such as the United Methodist Church, the Presbyterian Church as seeing continued flight of members. The Southern Baptist Convention—the largest Protestant denomination in the United States—has lost approximately 4 million members since its peak in 2006.h (USA), and the United Church of Christ—have seen individual membership drops ranging from 30% to over 50% since 1990 alone. This is the result of a large number of factors not the least of which is lack of connection both horizontally and vertically. One factor that is no longer satisfying for many is the belief we can have "God in a box." Our creeds, catechisms, statements of faith et.al, are the way God is packaged for easy sale. Our church "bible study" is little more than reaffirmations of the "biblical validation" of our creeds both official and unofficial. Here bible study is designed to confirm what is already accepted of the hand me down "truth."
The second path is more challenging. The second path requires an honest attempt to understand God's will and purposes through a devotion to studying the New Testament (and 3 centuries of Judaism). There is a multi-disciplined way to do that. Fortunately, there is lots of help online if you accept the disciplines required to find an exegetical path. It starts by believing that there is a real historical basis for the perspectives, events, personalities and purposes of those we read about. Thus, we can come to understand the events and people of we find in the New Testament through 3 primary paths. Each has its own disciplines and approaches to mining meaning and insight from the written word. These paths include separate but harmonizing paths of understanding and insight. They are the historic approach, a critical approach and a literary approach. Together these bible study disciplines, IMHO, bring new insights into God's interactions with mankind. After over 60 years of bible study, I find new insights and levels of understanding on a regular basis. It is my belief that a deeper knowledge of God and His will is a liberation from the pre-packaged orthodoxies that constrain any real knowledge of God to credal formulas.
As you might guess from my background, I have a deep and abiding faith that there is way more that we don't yet know than what we do in all areas of life. An intimate knowledge of God and His work through Jesus the Christ is not the basis for salvation but it is a path to a deeper relationship and a legitimate statement of faith that there is a path to greater intimacy through greater knowledge. When you think back to the day you were first infatuated with the girl/woman who you would come to marry, the was an intense desire to "know everything about them." That's how I feel about my Savior.
A common analogy used for Christianity was "the path" and "the way." Both suggest a continuous relationship. As with most relationships if they are not pursued they die. You’re on the right path — the harder one, the deeper one, the one that demands discipline and humility and curiosity.
And you’re right: There is far more we don’t know than what we do.
But that’s not a threat.That’s an invitation.
The more you learn, the more you love Him.The more you study, the more you see Him.The more you dig, the more He reveals.
And that hunger — that desire to know Him — is the mark of someone who’s truly alive in Christ.
It is both and refutes your claim that all valid scientists live in a world of humility, which is hogwash. When I see the word "jabs" I know we are in a political sphere not a scientific one.
Nobody is requesting requirements, which is a dodge. What gave you the idea anyone here was interested in this, in the first place? Totally ignored by you is the Amish situation. Here is the requirements for school age kids in NY
Generally is a weasel word. Again, this is all a dodge.New York generally performs better than the national average regarding serious childhood illnesses and pediatric mortality. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), New York ranks among the top states for overall childhood healthcare and survival, although substantial regional and socioeconomic disparities exist within the state
