Will all the false Christians please put your name tags back on.
Exactly...
Is it just me, or have we had a rash of "newbies" come in lately with all kinds of real or imagined spiritual problems, that seem to focus on many of our major points of disagreement? Sort of makes one think that there are people who want to come in and start something, then just egg it on, laughing all the way....
I'm too young to be this cynical....

I was having fun with the Timmy thing too😉

@tourist was abundantly clear 👉 “Personally, I would be apprehensive to submit myself to anyone, including an elder in a church.”
I agree with @Cameron143 estimation. What would make an elder in a church to be qualified to offer counsel on sexual matters? Like @Cameron143 said. I don't believe that there would be many elders that are qualified.

I have a serious problem with someone submitting to an elder in a church. Seems to me that the one who receives counsel, regarding any matter, should pray for discernment to determine if the advice offered is spiritually sound. If you submit to an elder than you are compelled to do as they said, regardless of whether or not the counsel is spiritually sound.

I see nothing at all wrong with seeking advice from an elder, but absolutely have a problem with being submissive to such elder. Such action could be potentially dangerous / disastrous and lead to harmful, unintended consequences.

1st Timmothy maybe 🤷‍♂️
So, you really believe that all elders in all church settings are spiritually sound and that one should be submissive to such? It has been my experience and observation that not all elders are spiritually sound. Most perhaps, but certainly not all. I stand by my contention that a person should first pray for discernment in regard to whether in elder is spiritually sound, before even considering listening to the counsel that may be provided and then acting accordingly.

If you’re unable to conclude which church and which elders are biblical that’s not a problem with the church, that’s a problem with your discernment.
All I said was that discernment should be used in this regard, that's all. OK, that's enough back and forth. Moving forward now. Peace brother. :)

Why does The Bible not say that you cannot be in love with your friends and family members? / Is there a difference between love and sex? /.
There are different types of love., and sex is physical union that can be based on love or based only on lust, or both.
It can be that sexual intimacy is between 2 who love, but there are scriptural rules regarding sexual union not being allowed outside of marriage.

The BODY is a very interesting situation, as it can become passionately inflamed, and once it does the mind will not care about morality.
The imagination within us, if not controlled and contained, is a literal live wire on fire, and does not case about morality or consequence, nor heed conscience. This is why we have to take control of our thought life, or it will take control of us, and never for good.

INcest and pedophilia and sex crimes in general are related to the conscience in a person not in control of their morality or behavior because LUST has taken over the mind and desires beyond the point of no return.
