Bottom line is within all races, some people are nice and others are stuck up and not nice.

Sure whites have done a lot of bad stuff in history, but then again so have the other races.

The sad part is liberals are constantly trying to use race for political gain to keep people divided politically based on race rather than based on policies. In some races if you don't vote liberal people in your own race will reject you. It's crazy.

In the end there will only be two groups, those that are with the Lord and those that oppose the Lord.

It is true there's white privelige though, people treat you better if you are seen as white.

And in minority communities one gets treated better if they are of that particular minority and white people get treated badly just because of their skin color. Racism against other races definitely exists in all communities.

And when I said, "Neither," they would then guess outlandish things like, "Well are you Mexican?"

Because everyone knows there are only two Asian countries!

It's been a long time since I've seen it, but there was an episode of King of the Hill where Hank is talking to his neighbor and asks if he's Chinese or Japanese.

And when the man answers, "I'm from Laos."

Hank pauses a minute.

Then says, "So... Are you Chinese or Japanese?"

To this day, it still makes me howl with laughter, because it's so true!

I can't imagine what it's like for blondes to be made fun of all the time. There used to be blonde jokes, so much so that there's this movie called 'Legally Blonde' with the stereotype implying that blondes are a bit ditzy and could never become lawyers.

Well I always thought having golden hair was the ultimate Goldilocks thing, like wearing a permanent halo or crown of glory on your head. You don't necessarily need much brainpower when people look at you all the time and exclaim how wonderful your hair is.

I have managed to have an insult-free thread on BDF called Judging a Book and it turned out nobody was judging each other on that thread. So it IS possible to have a friendly thread on there. I don't read all of the threads on BDF though it would take too much time. I think other forums are a lot more casual and fun.

I really don't know why, every time someone dies, *someone* has to say well they are going to hell. ?! I bet those people sure are fun at funerals.

I've talked about this before, but all my life, I've wanted to be a redhead, because it's my favorite color, and also because I feel like I fit pretty much every redheaded stereotype out there!

I have no soul! And I'm perfectly fine with stealing other people's souls! (Hopefully people will know enough to realize I'm joking.)

But as almost a taunting reminder, God has always made sure to place at least one redhead in my life at any given time. Right now I have 3.

So I'm well-acquainted with the hell they often go through just because of the color of their hair, with people making rude and insensitive comments that aren't asked for.

The one that takes the cake (in my opinion,) would be, "Does the carpet match the drapes?" If anyone doesn't know the reference, they'll have to Google it.

I know it's not very Christian-like, but it makes me want to punch anyone who says that to a redhead.

I know, I know -- I need to ask God to help me just pray for them instead.

I never knew men would say that to female redheads I only found out this when I went on reddit (the online forum for redheads) and I was shocked.

Why would you say that to someone? And what is the correct answer anyway? Most people would have no idea what you are talking about.

In my house, no the carpet does not match the drapes (or as we call them, curtains) but does it even matter? I always thought the scandi interior look where EVERYTHING was white, was just too glaring plus hard to clean.

I don't have blue carpets.

One of my friends, who had red hair (but actually more of ginger, we don't call it red) said she could never go out in the sun without protection. And she didn't like her freckles. I think there is always something thats hard to deal with whatever colour you are.

For me, its I can never get my hair curly, and of course eyeshadow doesn't work on my eyes, plus my nose isn't sticky-out enough, and a myriad of other beauty flaws I can't change unless I spend a lot of money that I don't have. It's much harder to be female in this world as everyone tends to judge you solely on your appearance and its just tiring to have to deal with that ALL the time - it makes you incredibly self conscious.

This is why, online forums can be a safe space for people as no one cares what you look like online. Just don't go on a dating site.

I definitely agree that people can become too sensitive as well.

I have to admit that I try to walk on the safe side, because I don't like people who don't know me taking liberties and referring to me in any way they want.

I try very hard not to use terms that I've heard used in a negative way for anyone I don't have an understanding with that we are close friends and can joke around about those things.

But that's just me.

When I was in a ministry writing to inmates, one was very offended by being called a "prisoner", and preferred "inmate" for whatever reason (which is why I generally use the term "inmate" today.)

However, I realize this is probably highly individualized, as others didn't seem to have a problem with "prisoner" and might be offended by being called an "inmate".

I do realize that trying to tiptoe around everyone's preferred terms can be madness.

I just try to advocate for respect and edification in whatever choice of words are used.

Oh gosh it seems to change every five minutes !
Big Brother TV show on in UK and we have an American housemate . Talking about racism in the USA she said ( I'm paraphrasing ) in the UK people r not brought up to c colour , in the USA everyone sees colour and we r brought up that way . I don't know how true that is but , we do have a friend , his mum and dad got divorced and his mum remarried an American man . They live in Chicago and our friend Lee , goes over to c his mum every couple of years . I hope I'm not gonna offend anyone here but I'm gonna tell u the two things he doesn't like about the USA , the overt racism and he says that a lot of people think it's ok to drink alcohol and then drive . In the UK of course people do drink and drive but , it's considered very bad and a shameful thing to do . People get in a lot of trouble and may loose jobs , friends etc if they get found out . It's very socially unacceptable here . This lady in the Big Brother house did say that there is quite a bit of micro aggression towards black people in the UK and the other black housemates agreed and gave examples .
The younger generations keep moving the goalposts in regard to what we r allowed and r not allowed to say , we oldies can't keep up . One of my friends , only about ten years younger than me , was horrified when I used the word ' retarded ' to describe my neighbours granddaughter . My friend thought that word was insulting , she genuinely didn't realise that it isn't an insult it's an actual adjective . She also didn't know what an adjective is .

Also the USA has a huge legacy of slavery, and even decades of emancipation, some people still treat others like trash based on their skin colour, as if they are still masters of slaves.

There seemed to be a lot of pushback from BLM.
At the time it was big in the media, I had children say they really disliked Mr T even though we don't live in the US because he it seemed like he was hating on anyone who wasn't 'white' . Because many of the children in my school had brown or dark skin (Islanders, Maori) and black hair they identified with being 'Black'

I mean I have naturally black hair too and it doesn't help if everyone automatically thinks you're a witch because you are female and have black hair.
