The moment we truly believe, God causes us to be born again. That is eternal life. Then we should accept Jesus as our Lord as well as saviour. God never intended for us to live independently of Him. Not only that, but the moment one believes, that person is indwelled with the Holy Spirit, and has become the "TEMPLE" of the Holy Spirit. They are still capable of sinning and "grieving the Spirit". That person could later "live in the flesh" or build upon Christ's "foundation" "wood, hay and stubble". They are still indwelled by the Spirit of God, but their works will be later "burned" and they will "suffer loss". (see 1 Coriththians 3) These folks who say OSAS is a license to sin either have no understanding or haven't read their Bibles. Yet never says the Holy Spirit would leave a sinning or "

And, I, having been Jewish, did not know what was happening to me.
I just thought when I believed it was something I wanted to believe about Jesus.
I had no idea that some real changes were going to take place.
No clue.

Only years later, I finally began reading the Word only to find out what had happened to me was Biblical.

It did not depend on me to make those changes in me.
They happened anyway... And, painfully so!

We all were changed when we believed.
We need the Word to define for us what took place!

It was when I was made able (by grace) to realize Heaven is real that the pain began to fade.

Anyone professing to believe in Jesus for salvation and yet refusing to be water baptized is of questionable sincerity. It's unthinkable that anyone who truly believes the gospel would refuse to be water baptized. I could not wait to get water baptized after my conversion and I cannot think of one Christian that I know who has refused to be water baptized after their conversion. It logically follows that we get water baptized after we believe and are saved, but if someone is on their death bed and cannot get baptized before death, they are still saved because they BELIEVED (John 3:18; Acts 10:43; Romans 1:16) which is in harmony with Mark 16:16(b)..but he who does not believe will be condemned. *NOWHERE does the Bible say, "water baptized or condemned."

Until we better understand what the Scriptures teach we will strongly desire to be water baptized.
I did. I wanted to even be baptized in a bath tub!

When seeking advice a pastor gently told me it was not needed. I did not care. I wanted to be water baptized!

It was only later after being water baptized that I began to realize through the teaching of the Word
that it was not something important. For I had thought something magical from God was to take
place when water baptized. In fact, it felt kind of flat to me and made me wonder what was missing.

What I found exciting was when spontaneous insights were given to me. Then I knew I was saved, because
no one could have such thoughts unless God be working through him.

For those who want a check off list of things to do for God?
Those people may find water baptism to be edifying.

To each his own choices does make who we are to become as a Christian.

Until we better understand what the Scriptures teach we will strongly desire to be water baptized.
I did. I wanted to even be baptized in a bath tub!

When seeking advice a pastor gently told me it was not needed. I did not care. I wanted to be water baptized!

It was only later after being water baptized that I began to realize through the teaching of the Word
that it was not something important. For I had thought something magical from God was to take
place when water baptized. In fact, it felt kind of flat to me and made me wonder what was missing.

What I found exciting was when spontaneous insights were given to me. Then I knew I was saved, because
no one could have such thoughts unless God be working through him.

For those who want a check off list of things to do for God?
Those people may find water baptism to be edifying.

To each his own choices does make who we are to become as a Christian.

Jesus has another statement!

mk. 16:16 he who believes and is baptized shall be saved!

its not a bible study! its a covenant with an outward sign and initial grace!

Yes, WB is good but SB is required and what WB should symbolize.
WB served as the NT substitute for PC with Gentiles (cf. Col. 2:11-14).
