Yes,Yes,I don't like even the smell of coffee,I'm allergic to chocolate, and rather not seek out sin,I have plenty of example people who have shown that any such obsessive or compulsive habits are not worth having, though popular.
You miss my point.
Ever wondered why? That’s the point
We need do be very careful as to what we consider sin to be. In this case smoking.
Yes it is addressed in scripture what sin is. As addressed in Corinthians, Ephesians and Galatians.
Jesus addressed the sin of unbelief in him.
So to me the point is as I a say WHY?
Even believers can fall foul of the stuff addressed in Corinthians, Ephesians and Galatians.
Why do they. There is an effect, that being the case there must be a cause.
With regards to the non believer I came alongside a fellow director whose marriage was struggling and on the point of divorce.
I plucked up the courage to pray for him.
Part of my prayer was “May he know that you can work in this situation”
When I had finished praying he looked at me with eyes welling up “Bill how can I believe in the God that you talk about when my mother when I was seven was killed by a drunk driver, left my sister and I without a mother and a husband who spent the next 40 years in pain and kept their bedroom the same until the day he died?
Now believers can fall foul of such things that detract from walking with God Like they should do.
Rather than write them off (not saying you are doing this) but we need to ask and pray WHY, is there a cause of the effect?
