A Keurig makes something, but it isn't coffee.

It makes coffee, and it can make good coffee depending on what pod you put in it.

But the way my uncle Fred drinks coffee, he would be waiting for the next cup over and over and over and over and over and...

Keurig machines, and their ilk, are good for people who only drink one cup of coffee to start their day. They are not good for people who really like coffee.

There are so many ways to make a single cup of coffee. Even some worse than using a Keurig. But there are also so many better ways.

There are challenging aspects of the Christian life, but serving others is a pleasure to me. What I hate is that my job consumes so much of my time and energy to the point that I feel as if my life is meaninglessly wasting away. Please pray that God would make a way for me to fulfill my calling as a Christlike servant to others. Thank you.​

I will be happy to pray that you may continue to seek and understand the Lord's will for your life and would appreciate the same from you as well. I have been in the hospitality industry working at hotels since 2011 so I can relate to the feeling of having pleasure from serving others at work and outside of it. I have been on a third shift schedule since last year (did it also from 2011-2017) so I also know what it is like to pass the time by with some sort of meaningless as I am mostly awake while most people are sleeping and have minimum interaction with others outside of my workspace. Thanks for taking the time to reply and remember no matter where we are in life our beliefs are rooted in truth and God is never absent from us.

I found this humorous. How does one research women? I honestly would like to know.

By quietly observing them in action and paying attention to the words that they speak. If they treat others harshly and are unkind, it is almost a sure thing that they would treat you poorly too. I'm gonna score some coffee pods tomorrow at my local Walmart.

Interesting though about Nespresso. I worked over 4 years in a distribution center in St. Petersburg, Fl that was the exclusive distributer for Nespresso coffee and expresso pods in the US.

You need a machine that they sell that accepts their particular kind of pods. The large pods are coffee, and the smaller ones are espresso. Different machine for each.

Good racket for them. On any given day there are 40 or 50 varieties that ship out. It was a non-stop operation.

Outstanding coffee though.

There are strange pod-exclusive favors of coffe that you can't really get in a scoopable container.
So for those I like to cut open their lids and dump the contents of them into my dads old Kitchenaid dripper.

Okay, that makes sense. When he said he was researching women, I was thinking more along the lines of researching them as a collective group of people. Everyone is unique in at least one way or another, so I wouldn't put too much stock in that type of research.​

Exactly, it is best to conduct your research one woman at time. It also helps to know what you are really looking for in a prospective relationship that may or may not lead to marriage.

Research is one thing, on-the-job-training is the only way to succeed. If you are afraid to take a calculated risk and get your feet wet, you will spend the rest of your life alone and high and dry.

The game of love is not for the timid or faint of heart. It is very much a high stakes game. Eventually, you have to let the dice fly and let the chips fall where they may. It is all is the wrist (risk).

My research lab is currently shut down. My job is so all-consuming that I can barely deal with it, let alone anything else. I basically have no social life, not that I'm complaining, and my time with God has definitely been negatively affected. I did apply for a new job with another company this morning. I don't know what sort of chance I have getting it, but I am hoping that God shows me favor so I can get my life back on track. If not with that job, then hopefully with another.

I think that you're right about calculated risks and getting your feet wet, but I am pretty content being alone, so I'm staying away from the edge of the diving board. My real concerns have to do with my service unto the Lord or, lately, the lack thereof.​

I get what you're saying, and I do help people quite frequently. However, it is almost always in some simple way that has no real eternal value attached to it. My heart is more geared towards missions and the souls of men, but I seem to be a gazillion miles away from that path. So far away that I cannot believe where I presently find myself, and I wonder how the heck I got there. I must have taken a giant misstep somewhere down the line. Like you said, we can always pray, and I always do. I hope this all comes together somehow and that I can ultimately fulfill my calling in Christ, but in my own natural understanding and reasoning, which is certainly limited, I have no idea if or how it will. If I am to be totally honest, then my username almost seems as if it is describing somebody I once knew. ​

I am sure that you are making the correct choice as led by God. I like that part of your post about the edge of the diving board. I am always looking for new material to spice up my posts a bit. I will see how I can fit that in somewhere.
