The Trinity is what we would call a "mystery," meaning that we can't fully comprehend it in this life with our limited human senses and way of thinking. However, what we do know is that it consists of three persons who are all distinct but who are all equally God--the early councils of the Church used the word "consubstantial," or, in Greek, "homoousios," which means "same substance."
