I watched it with my wife. We enjoyed it. I was also impressed that it showed some of the problems and the personality clash. I don't know how accurate Kelsey Grammer's portrayal was. It seemed a bit too low key, but maybe that's how it was.Did anyone see this movie? What did you think of it?
Yea in the movie, Greg Laurie took over, or was handed the reigns of the Calvary Chapel. The original Pastor was Chuck Smith
That was not mentioned or hinted at all in the movie. The sad part about the Jesus Revolution is that Lonnie Frisbee, who played such a pivotal part was caught up in homosexuality, and if I am right, died of Aids. Very sad.
mm don't think so, also, conversion therapy is now banned/illegal at least in my country."Thing is, you can't pray the gay away"
I don't think that is entirely true. There are many testimonies on record to the fact that Christ has transformed gays, and made them straight.
It is still true, "If any man be in Christ, he is a new creation, OLD THINGS HAVE PASSED AWAY, behold, ALL things have become new".mm don't think so, also, conversion therapy is now banned/illegal at least in my country.
It doesn't seem to have lasting effect.
It didn't for Lonnie Frisbee anyway.
If you read Romans 1, you discover that homosexuality is the result of knowingly rejecting God. In my very early years as a believer, I had a bit to do with homosexuals. Romans 1 makes perfect sense to me.mm don't think so, also, conversion therapy is now banned/illegal at least in my country.

It didn't for Lonnie because he was walking in rebellion. The wages of sin is still death.mm don't think so, also, conversion therapy is now banned/illegal at least in my country.

So what happened, was he saved or not saved? Why was he walking in rebellion? Could nobody cast out his demon? It didn't for Lonnie because he was walking in rebellion. The wages of sin is still death.
So what were homosexuals worshipping, it says they were changing the glory of God into images of man, birds, and four-footed animals and creeping things. see Romans 1:23If you read Romans 1, you discover that homosexuality is the result of knowingly rejecting God. A good friend of mine was a homosexual before he was saved. He went to Bible college, married, two kids, the whole deal. He backslid and went back to his old lifestyle, which took his life. He repented before he died.
Homosexual lust is a demon. Unless the demon is cast out, the temptation will never go away. And the believer absolutely must confront and repent of the sin. If they try to excuse themselves or say God does not care, they will remain bound all their lives.
Homosexuality is sin, but no worse than any other. There's a list of sins that disqualifies people from entering the kingdom of God. Homosexuality is only one of them.
Lord Jesus came to set the captives free. That includes those captive to homosexuality.
I believe he was initially saved but perused a certain lifestyle. Why? I can only surmise that he yielded to temptation. I don't know if he had a demon. One does not need a demon to live sinfully. I don't believe that a Christian can be 'demonized'. However, I believe Scripture teaches that a Christian can forfeit their salvation through unfaithfulness and thus possibly become demonized. So what happened, was he saved or not saved? Movie doesn't elaborate.
Oh ok but all hippies did that. That's why there were called hippies, they didn't conform to what was expected of them. They went barefoot to church which apparently was a no-no, even though Jesus washed peoples feet.I believe he was initially saved but perused a certain lifestyle. Why? He’s just quoting a movie line from Grey’s Anatomy."Thing is, you can't pray the gay away"
