Prayer and repentance is not conversion therapy.
None of us know what was on/in Lonnie's heart at the time of his passing. Only God knows if Lonnie died in rebellion or repentance.

Like all movies, I don't believe it fully told the whole story. As I stated in my previous post, only God knows for sure Lonnie's condition at the time of his passing.
I've absolutely no idea who Lonnie was or what he did or didn't do

As I said, homosexuality was the consequence of knowing God but rejecting Him. Some versions say "exchanged" rather than changed. It's probably closer to the meaning but it is not literal. When you look at ancient religions, e.g. Egypt's, there are countless idols. Egyptians worshiped cats, which obviously cats remember still.
It's not only homosexuals that worship false gods. But you will remember that God's judgement was to let humanity do whatever was in their hearts. Homosexuality and transgender is the ultimate act of rebellion against God's creation and purpose for mankind.
Don't believe the lie that children know that they are homosexual. There are mothers who wanted a girl and gave birth to a boy. Some mothers try to feminise (if that's a word) their sons. Homosexuality is also a spirit and young people can be taken over given the right circumstances. I was in the military when I was 16. Homosexuality was common. Men tried to corrupt me. No thanks.
Homosexuality can be the result of abuse. I've had conversations with gays that told me their experiences. I don't like to go into details.
If you look at the history of the "Christian" world, you will see a correlation between the decline of the church and the rise in homosexuality. It's not that there are more, it is that it's more open and more militant. "Gay Pride" says it all. I guess no one told them that pride leads to destruction. (Proverbs 16:18)

I have not said or implied such.
But hey... I did see you mentioned somewhere that you didn't know/understand how it all works.
Best thing to do is try not to derail the threads and if you can't find one with something you want to discuss then go start one.
Like I stated elsewhere, my life is anything but slow, calm and quiet.
I have hyper, hungry kids chatting away (LOUDLY) in the background and my brain is about to turn to mush.

Conversion therapy was stuff like forcing people to get married to opposite sex when they didn't really want to, and going on christian bootcamps. Or dressing real feminine for women and masculine for men, or some idea of it.
I don't know what else they did, but sounded traumatising for these mostly young adults.
Blame the parents then, the children wouldn't know that what homosexual means until they get molested or start molesting others. People that appear straight can also do the same.
Homosexuality has always been around, it was around in Roman times. It was around in monasteries and convents. Its only that a lot of countries now make it legal, where in the past it had been illegal. There was AIDS, but it does not stop people.
Egyptians don't seem particularly homosexual to me, or Japanese (also cat worshippers). Americans are very much idol worshippers, American Idol anyone? Just their idols are more on the tv and cartoons like Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck. So I don't know..why Lonnie Frisbee would knowingly turn his back on God like that. People that didn't know, ok, but why would Lonnie knowingly rebel against God who he really believed in??
They just totally glossed over this in the movie.
I wonder what happened to Lonnie's parents and whether they approved of their son preaching? Or were they part of the reason Lonnie was gay.
Since Greg Laurie only had his mother, and no real dad, I guess it didn't matter so much. He was a 'lost boy' .
The daughter in the movie was not allowed to preach, back in the day, they had to drag a hippie off the streets but had to be male. The female hippies had no say in anything much. Even though they were hippies, they fell into the traditional female roles of cooking and cleaning and bearing children in their communes, they just had more partners.
