Wow never seen one like that...what's the symbol on the cover? It looks like a Freemason's symbol to me...

It reminds me of the relief on the Florence Baptistery doors. Which particular version is this one?

Maybe share some pictures of whats inside?

My black KJV Holy Bible has maps and photo of Lake of Galillee at sunset on the inside back cover/endpapers. I had an even older one that was published by Oxford but it was kind of falling apart from being read so much.

Wow I just wrote names on the inside of mine who I asked God to save/protect.
Some Bibles have a dedication page in which the giver signs and dates when they gave the Bible to you.

Otherwise you can inherit an old Bible or find some being given away at any Salvation Army store. Some churches publish their own in mass produced softcovers , I remember one year these Bibles were the giveaways in school (will try and find pic of that cover)

For preschoolers this one is one of the most popular out there

Mine too.

This one is popular with boys who like reading comics/graphics

It's a bit busy for me to read. You have panels all over the place and some of it is hard to follow but there's a lot of drama/action in it!

Giraffes again. But note, this one has flamingos too

Sorry its not all adults Bibles

This one I gave to a friend who requested a Good News Bible, it zips up and has full colour pictures

I hope she is reading it!

The 3 page letter I posted was written inside the English language Bible I took with me to Colombia when I went there to be a Missionary. I secured a Spanish language Bible after I arrived. What precipitated the letter was the born again experience of two soldiers who had come into the church building basement where we were at and were mocking us. With very little knowledge of Spanish at the time I managed to share the good news with them using a Spanish English dictionary. They came mocking. They left born again in Christ!

The location was a small jungle town. In Colombia at the time young men were dragged off the streets and conscripted into the armed forces. I think that might be common in 3rd world countries. There was often a contingent of the army in these small towns because at the time there was a lot of communist insurgency going on and the insurgents made their camps out in the jungles.

Polita, a young lady who was crippled, assisted me while I shared the good news to the soldiers and wrote the letter in by Bible immediately afterwards.

Could you translate the letter into English for us?
I can sort of make out the gist (obviously, it is good news!)

It's a lot of praise to God and a little prayer for the new young missionary. More importantly, I think you can tell from the condition of the Bible that I spent plenty of time reading from it. That particular Bible got retired a long time ago. The sticker covers a big hole that wore into the front cover. I've got a lot of Bibles on the shelf, I retire them when they get pretty ratty and get a new one.

Wow when mine fell apart I tried gluing it together with PVA, or using scotch tape.
Couldn't really take much more so managed to find a new one. But I sort of stick with the same version, I mean I don't go get all the updates like the NIV or the NKJV or whatever New ones are out there.

But if they had a complete NZV I might be interested.

Am not sure which translation they are translating from as since the originals have already translated into English, maybe they are basing the Maori on the English translation rather than going straight back to the Greek
