Let's say a misunderstanding....he was making a joke and you went all 'literal' on him, which I also thought was funny. Was it meant to be funny or correctional? lol Either way we all love each other with the love of the Lord, can I get an Amen😂🙌
My motivation was to provide clarity. I analyze everything. I know it was supposed to be seen as a joke. I know he intended it that way. I simply provided clarification on the correct way to say it. Yes, we do all love each other, in Christ. I don't think like everyone else. I am not emotional in the same way you people are.

The Bible says that emotions are a part of being human, created by God, and should not be suppressed but instead expressed faithfully, especially through prayer, and managed with self-control. While emotions like joy and love are encouraged, the Bible also warns against negative emotional responses like uncontrolled anger, providing guidance to navigate them by bringing them to God and renewing one's mind. The Psalms, for example, contain prayers expressing a full range of emotions, from joy to sorrow and fear.
So you're different from this?

Hi Everyone,

My friends and family like to tease me because I am extremely picky about, gasp, condiments.

I don't like most of them, and, to the horror of those around me, usually prefer my sandwiches and burgers "dry". I don't like ketchup, mustard, and, heaven forbid, mayonnaise (YUCK!!) causing my sandwich to be runny, goopy, or soggy. BLEH!! To me, there's nothing more horrifying than biting into some kind of delicious sandwich-like concoction -- only to have some soppy, gooey mess slide down the side of your arm. EEK!!

But, I know that's just me, and I'm sure that I am definitely in the minority!

Ironically, I DO like A-1 sauce with my burgers or, on the rare occasion I would have steak (and it HAS to be A-1 -- no substitutions,) and I also like Heinz Cocktail Sauce (once again, it HAS to be Heinz!) with cold shrimp or fried fish products, like sticks or fillets. I've tried using store or other brands, and... For some things, if I can't use the specific brand, I'll just go without.

I also like malt vinegar with some types of fish, and that pickled ginger that comes with sushi (but is that more of a side dish than a condiment?)

Anyway... I wanted to try to write a poll, but can't figure out how to let people express their different opinions about the various condiments with just a poll, so I'm going to list some common condiments here and ask what YOU all think of them!

For instance, fill in the blanks: "(Type of Condiment) Is (Delicious, Depressing, Indifferent,) And Only Belongs On (Hot Dogs, Sandwiches, Certain Dishes, Anything, Everything.)"

What do YOU think of the following condiments -- as well as any you'd like to "add on"? :D

* Mustard
* Ketchup
* Grey Poupon (gourmet mustard)
* Ranch Dressing (It's a scourge, I'm telling you!)
* Pickle Relish
* Soy Sauce
* Hot Sauce
* BBQ Sauce
* Mayonnaise
* Cream Cheese
* Sour Cream
* Salsa
* Vinegar
* Aioli
* Wasabi

I know there are a PLETHORA of other choices, and that's where YOU come in!!

* What are YOUR most loved -- and most loathed -- condiments, and why? Is there a certain brand you HAVE to have?

* Do certain condiments ONLY belong on certain things? Why or why not? Are certain foods NAKED or incomplete without certain condiments? (Like a bagel without cream cheese?!)

* Can you REALLY put certain condiments -- on almost everything???

* What are the most, uh, CREATIVE combinations YOU'VE tried?! Were they a yay or a nay? And did your family/friends have any, um, feedback regarding your concoction?

I hope you'll all "relish" this moment, take a minute to "ketchup", and "mustard" your own response to this thread! :D
I used to love most of them. I also became overweight and unhealthy eating all of them. Now I try to stick to what God gives us and not what we humans think they can make better. I’ll occasionally eat sour cream but the rest have been thrown out of my diet. Also lost 100 lbs since changing my diet. They are delicious but not worth it for me. To each their own though. I’ll take feeling better and possibly living longer over them.

Yes, but it doesn't mean it is wrong that I do emotions differently from you. I don't have to ball my eyes out to God or be irrationally angry at Him. I suppress my emotions without destroying them. Get it?

Alright alright alright,
I was going to make some smartalec wise remark about the appearance of tension between ChristisTruth & @Shittim,you know something about this being a 'fun thread' so let's not get crazy with the back and forth banter of "I said this, but you said that" you know the stuff we find in BDF threads, BUT then I realized it is one of those CONTROVERSIAL threads ( :LOL::LOL::LOL::ROFL::ROFL: those who know me get this :LOL: ) so I was going to go with the thought of "hey guys I know it's a controversial topic here, but can we keep it civil?" (playfully of course because personally I saw nothing wrong with what either had to say, EXCEPT the I got the impression of both having to get the last word in, which BTW THIS THREAD- go ahead, click it, you know you want to - is perfect for people who want to try and get the last word in, and @TabinRivCA I will have something to say to you about the matter in that thread later sister, so let's leave it at that for now:LOL: unless, someone beats me to it! )

*GG takes a deep breath and tells her brain to get back to the subject at hand here:
As someone who is head of a very neurodiverse household I deal with stuff like this almost all day, everyday, and would just like to point out that I don't see where ChristisTruth has said anything suggesting he's saying he's different from biblical examples of emotions. From what I have read/seen so far to this point here is him stating he's not running around being led by them at the drop of a dime like so many people do. There is NOTHING wrong with that, in fact there is MUCH strength in it.

Now, I've kind of lost my train of thought of where else I wanted to go with this :confused: I haven't scrolled past post 62, and at this point... I'm scared to.
Feeling a little toooooo controversial in here 🤪😝

I don't see any problem with the discussion that we were having about his joke. Well what do you know, I am neurodivergent as well! I have autism and I highly suspect that I have Alexithymia. I am curious about why you do something. I am curious about why you roleplay yourself in third person. No offense intended, I just have never seen that before and really am curious into the reason why! Maybe it has become part of how people view you on this website? Ultimately, I did see that the guy I was discussing with was getting frustrated, though that was not intended. It was a fun thing for me. I know many of you don't like thinking deeply about much, especially it it's informal/"just having fun". I thought about the same thing you did considering this thread is supposed to be controversial. I get your point about how it seems both sides want the last word, but that is not what my objective is. I find my fun in intellectual discussion and analysis/deep thinking, so a long winded conversation about something, even something as simple as pizza, could be fun because I believe nothing is "just because" and that there is always a deeper part with everything (feel free to challenge that claim!). My objective is for clarification, understanding, and analysis, which almost always leads to more questions.

Thank you for taking the time to explain this!

I'm sure I've been around neurodivergent people all my life, but I grew up in an age and area where kids were being "diagnosed" with attention deficit disorders right and left, and being prescribed Ritalin like candy. Now of course, I'm sure some of those diagnoses might have been accurate and helpful, but neurodivergency wasn't even talked about (at least in my circles,) and looking back, I'm sure a lot of people were either misdiagnosed or just altogether missed. I feel like I'm just now starting to learn about how vast the expressions of neurodivergence can be.

I've often wondered if I have a learning disorder but have never been "tested", and I often find myself misunderstanding the way people word things. With so much communication being done online and through text, I find it very helpful when people share at least a little about their backgrounds.

I'm not the brightest bulb in the lighthouse, and I sometimes have difficulty understanding why someone is approaching something in a certain way, or why they are focusing on one certain aspect of a discussion (even though I do all of the same things!) When people take the time to explain some of how and why they think, it really, really helps me understand better, so I appreciate that you've shown us a little about your thought process.

As someone who has been told all her life that she is an overthinker who asks too many questions (which is completely true!), I found your post to be very relatable.

Thank you again!

Bless you sister, I am sure he appreciates your interest in others, I believe the inverse would be narcissism.:unsure::):coffee:

I do not consider my mental conditions as bad things. I am able to stay logical without applying emotional bias to things, but this doesn't mean I don't feel emotions. People say that I "overthink" things as well, or even act like a robot when I was younger! I simply think differently than most of you do. Most react to things emotionally and don't see the need to analyze, think deeply, or as people often call it, "overthink" whatever the thing is if everyone is happy, but, I could be wrong, I suspect that others a lot of the time are not willing to understand that I actually like "overthinking" and that to me it is not a hinderence. I just happen to like doing something many find boring. This is my thought!

This type of thing is fun for me. Unlike others, I love answering, thinking about, and asking my own questions instead of settling for the emotional feel good about it (especially since I don't experience it!). So, for me to explain this, and if you ever want me to explain something else, is fun because it invites deeper thinking.

This is interesting to me because the majority of people I'm around are extremely logical thinkers. One of my female friends took some kind of personality test, and the test results assumed that she was a guy, because her thinking is so logical. I know a lot of women like this, and most of the guys I know pride themselves on using logic long before emotion.

This has been one of the things I've been trying to research. When does someone's natural tendencies veer outside the realm of normal and into something that experts claim they can diagnose, or even treat? I don't know, but I've been trying to learn more about that.

It's often strange to me that some of the things labeled as this or that today were just seen as someone being a little quirky back when I was growing up. Or, it was labeled as something undesirable if it didn't fit the the crowd, or inconvenienced those in charge. But it usually wasn't something that held a person back when they applied hard work and kept trying.

Anyway... Sorry. It's just me thinking out loud.

I'm thankful that people today have more resources to go to when they need help.

But I also wonder how much we as a society are trying to label anything that looks a little different as being something that needs to be diagnosed and fixed -- at great expense.

All this talk about beef in a ketchup thread...
YES! I put ketchup on beef!
When that beef is a patty sandwiched between a bun :p

I grew up with a plethora of characters who today would have been diagnosed with both this and that (myself included), maybe even rightfully so. All kinds of strange people strolling around, in and out of every house in the neighborhood. You don’t see those people anymore. Where did they go?

Yes, but it doesn't mean it is wrong that I do emotions differently from you. I don't have to ball my eyes out to God or be irrationally angry at Him. I suppress my emotions without destroying them. Get it?
Yes I get it but truthfully I never ball my eyes out or ever get angry with God, instead a see a reason for things. I cry at weddings and superior speeches like the one Erika Kirk brilliantly said at the memorial service. But I see your point, we all express ourselves differently and I appreciate that and I don't have a beef about it, lol.
