My all time favorite soda is the old fashion NEHI peach.

I have had peach soda, but have not heard of this brand!

Alas, I'm going to have to add this to my "Sodie Pop Wish List" of ones I'd like ot try.

Thank you so much for mentioning it! :)

I haven't seen any in years.

I haven't seen any in years.

A quick Google search said it can be purchased online, as well as in stores in the Southeastern USA, and in a few other regions.

It seems like all the smaller (and often tastier) brands are only found in certain areas...

Sasparilla brand cream sodas are really good!
Once a year I usually get one as a special treat for my birthday.

Yes, having one as a special treat really makes them even better!!

I also like birch beer, but even less stores carry it than sarsaparilla. It's best from a local soda maker anyway, if you can find one anymore.

Is that made from the sap of birch trees?
I drank that a long time ago. Forget what it's like. I should look for it in the store.
I have a real ginger ale in my pantry for a special occasion.
I should probably make it myself since I have the ginger and a big glass jar.

Yes! I've been told it tastes like bubble gum, but I don't think that it does. It tastes much better than bubble gum imo.
The last time I found a bottle of it was at the farm store (here, that's Atwoods). But, the best birch beer and sarsaparilla I've had was from a local soda maker.

I do hope your next soda treat is smashing!!

Hey Everyone,

A side discussion broke out in another thread regarding sweet, bubbly drinks -- and it was getting to be so interesting, the topic seemed to deserve its own thread.

So, let's pop all the bubbles and get straight to the controversy!

* Is it "pop", "soda", "Coke", or something else -- and why?

* Coke or Pepsi? Dr. Pepper or Mr. Pibb? Sprite or 7-UP? Mountain Dew or... (Does anything compete with the 'Dew?!)

* Do you prefer the big names or are there any smaller, independent sodie pop companies you like?

I remember when Jones Soda burst onto the scene in a very big way:

I also have a family member whose favorite creme soda is only found in certain parts of the country:

And, for what just might be the MOST controversial question of all:

* Does ANYONE make a diet soda that actually tastes GOOD??!!!

I was very pleasantly caught off guard by Shasta's diet root beer:

I limit myself to only having pop once or twice a week, but this is honestly THE best diet pop I have EVER tried. Unfortunately, I'm having a hard time finding it -- but maybe that's for the better, or I'm sure I'd be drinking a lot more of it!

And now it's YOUR turn!!

What CONTROVERSIAL opinions, facts, and questions do YOU have about sodie pop??! :D
Ghasp!
Seoul is at it again....

ahh, soda, Its all highly sugared fizzy burp fuel. I mean, lets call it what it is, folks.
