Dipping toes in the singles pool... I go by Mr E (mystery) but my first username was MoabiteRaider (it’s scriptural). A graphics gal created an avatar for me with a flaming skull and tag line- Assassin of Love. 😜
I’ve also gone by Boneman (I work in orthopedics) with a walking skeleton.
The funniest one that I’ve used came from trying to sign up on a site with the username Anonymous. When I typed it in it autocorrected to Anne, and so I became Anne Ominous, which I thought was so clever, but everyone thought I was a woman, so the joke was on me. 😋
These are just WAY too good, THANK YOU for sharing!!!

The "flaming skull" makes me think of Ghost Rider, very cool. I'm not so much into the character or the comic, but the look is undeniably cool!

I love... What does one even call them? Plays on words? Like the "Anonymous" to "Anne Ominous" -- so, so clever!!

Other similar things I've seen were JustinCase, Thin-King, and WindowPain.

Thank you so much for dropping by Singles! I will try to put more of these general threads in Family, where our married friends will feel more comfortable.

I put this one here in Singles though because the "reference thread" I used in the OP was also in this section.

Thank you for taking the time to hang out with us! :)

Thanks for having me!

Yes, I’ve used the ghost rider schtick on occasion. I like the one with the flaming bike and the flaming horse best. (Of course, of course).

I know you said that MrE is a meant to be a mystery, but now I can't help but wondering what the E stands for...

Edward?
Eggs?
Education?
Egregious?
Enchanting?
Elusive?
Evaporated?

I understand that it's supposed to be a mystery and that the best mysteries remain mysterious, but...

I just couldn't help myself. :p

We had a member with the name of Snackers for a while and I had thought that maybe they were related LOL
Lol I never ran across Snackers but that would have been amusing! I wasn't very active on the site between 2013 and 2023, maybe they were posting during that period? No relation that I know of! 😁

lol so interesting! I thought for sure you had to be a mom!
Nope, I had always wanted kids but haven't married. At this point biological children are pretty unlikely, I'm 42 now. Jesus helped me make peace with it though 😌. And my first round of posting here (in my late 20s) helped me realize that I'm a good fit for youth ministry; in that way my screen-name was a benefit because teenagers would come here with questions and naturally gravitate towards me, thinking I was a mom (of course I would be upfront with them once we started talking and I think they all found the concept of Snackers amusing).

Fast- forward 15 or so years, now I function as an assistant youth pastor but without any sort of title, which is fine with me. My church isn't big on official titles and just encourages members to do what they are called to do. No worries, I'd rather have the calling without the title than the title without the calling! 😉

Really, it's one of the most rewarding things I've ever done. Those kids give SO much more than they take! 💜

I can only speak for myself, but I know that for me (and a lot of women I know,) we become very interested in a guy who sees himself as an underdog, and are very curious to find out why. It's the empath in us being set off on red alert, and we want to know if there's something we can do to help. :)

Plus, the way the world is now, humility is so hard to find that anyone not declaring they are the latest, the greatest, and most spiritual bestest teacher/prophet/leader ever can be quite appealing.
Hmm. I did not know that. Though I agree humility isn't too common anymore. So many men trying to be an alpha, regardless whether they are or not. I am certainly not an alpha.

Thank you for sharing some of the interesting history behind your user name! Ah, Snackers, I do not remember them very well, but I do know they were banned... I just did a search for their name and nothing was found, so I cannot even be certain when they were here! But it did most likely pre-date 2023, for sure. And they were not here for a very long time, either, before going bye-bye...

There was a young woman here for a while who told me her mom was here, and I thought maybe it could be you also haha, so many possibilities! But now I know you have eliminated yourself as a potential. I never did ask, either, because I did not want to pry...

He sure is in my,, er, I mean, HIS, own mind.;)

Each one of my stuffed critters has a part of my personality imprinted onto them.

Winston is...

The side of me that wishes it could get away with a whole lot more than in real life. He says and does the things I would love to get away with, but for some reason, can't.

I've taken Winston traveling with me to visit other CC members, and he's always very popular -- with most.
definitely. have you made a thread about stuffed critters etc yet or should i? my critters definitely have personality.

OOOHHH, I would be all over a thread about stuffed critters like... Well, stuffing on a stuffed critter. :D

The poor people here see WAY too many threads here from me -- let's give them a break. Would you want to write a thread about stuffed critters? :D

No pressure at all, but that would be awesome. :D

I thought you already had! I went looking through all you threads and there are so many of them!!! You have been a
very busy girl... Anyways I only got a few pages in and was only at last Christmas so I stopped looking... it was maybe
just some thread -or probably more than one- where Winston and his mates came up and were discussed at length...
and there are only 54 threads listed where you mention Winston by name heh. They go back to April 25, 2022.

That's it!

From now on, if I see anyone giving Sub grief over his username, I'm going to be like, "Well actually, his real name is ShubOidalOildalDroidal-Man... But Subhumanoidal is his nickname -- and it's just SO much easier to pronounce, and a WHOLE lot easier to spell. Don't you agree?":p:geek:

So I have learned two things from this thread.

1. Seoulsearch wants a large family but does not want responsibility for it, so she casts herself as a sister instead of the mother. That way she can spread the work around instead of doing it herself as the mom.

2. Seoulsearch and Subhumanoidal would have been two of the people changing names all the time in the old chat room. You could change your nick anytime with a simple command, and sometimes people got carried away with it. If it started going too far, like imitating people who were not there to either play along or object, I would change my name to Plus-N-Rocks. That was an implied warning, because if a moderator set the room to Plus N it would keep anybody from changing their nicks anymore. You would be stuck with whatever name you were under at that moment.

Sometimes this one guy named Philip would try to be cute by changing his name to lsaac with a lowercase l. Whether it looked like an uppercase i depended a lot on which font your particular chat client was using at the time. I could have kicked him out, but I could also change my name to PhiIip with an uppercase i in the middle. The mileage on that also varied depending on which font which chat client was using. As long as we were the only two people in the chat room I just let it go. If other people who might be confused came in I would put a stop to it.

The adjective for iron is ferrous.

I know, I know, you're making a joke. But what you don't understand is, I am a pedant. :geek:

LOL!!

What can I say, Winston has become a legend on this site -- and in a few other circles. I won't tell him that though, his feathers might get ruffled up with a little too much pride. :censored:

Don't feel bad -- I went looking for one of my threads I wanted copy a quote from... something like 50 pages of all thread titles and an hour later, I couldn't find it -- and had to do so by looking through someone else's old thread history that had posted in it (which took probably another hour.)

And after all that... I wound up not even using the quote!

It seems they list the threads in the order in which they were last answered, and not by the date they were actually posted, which always makes it quite a challenge to find anything.

Love that!! " Sing, O barren, thou that didst not bear; break forth into singing, and cry aloud, thou that didst not travail with child: for more are the children of the desolate than the children of the married wife, saith the Lord." Isaiah 54;1

I feel like this too, sometimes. Right now I have a babysitting job 3 days a week so I get a little taste of mom life. (4 children ages 14 down to almost 2) And the other evening I was babysitting 3 under the age of 4 and I really felt like a mom lol! I went to some friends for supper and brought the whole passel of children along.
