That is a false dichotomy. The Law of Moses is His instructions for how to embody His character traits and His character traits are the fruits of the Spirit, which is why the Spirit has the role of leading us to obey it (Ezekiel 36:26-27).

God did not give the Law of Moses as instructions for how to rely on our own strength. Relying on our own strength does not involve relying on anyone else, so it is contradictory to rely on our own strength by obediently relying on God's instructions. Relying on our own strength would be doing something that is completely independent of anything that God has instructed.
Following the law of Moses does not embody God's character traits. This is accomplished by the indwelling Spirit. That's why it is called the fruit of the Spirit.

Keeping commandments apart from the power of Christ is relying on our own strength. One can follow the law outwardly. Following God's instructions outwardly void the internal reality is not really keeping the law. It's a form of godliness that denies the power thereof.

But think of the consequences: total loss of Saturday friend cook-outs!

Sin and sinning are not humorous things. God hates sin and so should you if you are a Christian. Think of Christ suffering on the Cross for your sin and mine. No joking matter.
Works salvation preachers who cast their filthy rags at the cross, as if their own righteousness are equivalent to what my Savior went through, are who I laugh at. What a mockery to say grace is a license to sin.

"But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags"
Isaiah

None of us needs a license to sin.

I did not say grace is a license to sin.

The loss/forfeit/walk away from/ of salvation crowd has yet to deal with DISCIPLINE.

The greasy grace crowd refuses to deal with REPENTANCE

They love their sin and refuse to turn away from it.

So, they made up this fake religion and attach the Name of Jesus too it and falsely claim one can live in sin and still be saved.

They go around telling anybody who'll listen that they sin everyday in though word and deed calming God made them to be a sinner and they just can't stop sinning and they are so proud of that! They love their sin so!

His discipline may be very harsh, but not ONE loss of salvation believer can point to a definitive loss of salvation verse.

Thank you for letting us know you have accepted satan's lies that some passages in God's Word are lies.

Now we know what spirit you are of which explains why you don't accept God's warnings which clearly speak of loss of salvation.

I did not say grace is a license to sin.

The way the majority of preachers / churches teach it - yes, they turn grace in to a license to sin.

They falsely teach and claim all future sins are already forgiven and since we are in Christ the Lord is clueless and ignorant of any sins we commit because they claim Love is blind.

So they have the Father being blinded and ignorant of what's going on and we know the devil came up with that pile of horse hockey seeing it's not even close to being biblical. Teaching greasy grace doctrine is a sin because it's doctrines of devils, and they love it so.

That's why all the greasy grace people continue in sin is because they think God is blind not being able to see what they are doing in darkness, and they mock God by falsely claiming when they sow to the flesh they do not reap corruption (see Gal 6:7,8) claiming they don't have to confess or forsake their sin

Proverbs 28:13
He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy.

1 John 1:9
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Hebrews 10:28-31
He that despised Moses' law died without mercy under two or three witnesses:
Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace?
For we know him that hath said, Vengeance belongeth unto me, I will recompense, saith the Lord. And again, The Lord shall judge his people.
It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.

Amen!!

Paul had very strong words for those who turn around who used perverted logic and preached grace was a license to sin.

He clearly states anyone who makes that accusation about the Gospel being a license to sin ... "their condemnation is just!!"
Romans 3:8.

The Jews whom Paul was trying to teach were making the exact same arguments as on this thread.
You slander grace and you make your self effort the winner.

Blaming the grace of God for sin is perverted logic here.

Paul was not impressed and had some stern words of warning for them, dig deep into Romans, slander against grace is in fact the antithesis of the Gospel and why Paul made the statement below.

King James Bible
And not rather, (as we be slanderously reported, and as some affirm that we say,) Let us do evil, that good may come? whose damnation is just.

New Living Translation
And some people even slander us by claiming that we say, “The more we sin, the better it is!” Those who say such things deserve to be condemned.
Romans 3:8

They don’t realize that God loved them while they were still sinners and so their performance doesn’t change God’s love for them.

Thank you @HealthAndHappiness, you and @wattie are the one of the few left here that get it!

Blaming the grace of God for sin is perverted logic here.

It's their FALSE grace that is causing people to believe they can live in sin and still be saved.

Here's the Lord's definition of GRACE:

Titus 2:11,12
For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men,
Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;

Here's examples of false grace that results in people thinking they can live in sin and still be saved.

Jude 1:4
For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ.

Galatians 5:4
Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace.

Romans 6:1,2
What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?
God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?

Matthew 7:18 - A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, and a bad tree cannot bear good fruit.
Sin = bad fruit

At some point, it just comes down to what people want to accept. Partial gospel so you can justify living in sin, or actually bearing the fruit of the spirit by walking in righteousness which = walking in the law.

God is the same yesterday, today and forever (Hebrews 13:8). The same God that destroyed Israel's temple, killed the vast majority of Jews for their sin 40 years AFTER Christ on the cross and sent the rest scattered all over the world, is the same God that is going to bring the tribulation period of destruction and fiery wrath BECAUSE OF SIN. If you are living in sin, you fall in that category and claiming God isn't going to save you. Because that's trampling grace (Hebrews 10:29).

Hebrews 10:26-29
For if we sin willfully after we have received the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, but a certain fearful expectation of judgment, and fiery indignation which will devour the adversaries. Anyone who has rejected Moses’ law dies without mercy on the testimony of two or three witnesses. Of how much worse punishment, do you suppose, will he be thought worthy who has trampled the Son of God underfoot, counted the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified a common thing, and insulted the Spirit of grace?

This is very true.

The greasy grace people will be by shortly to give their thoughts on why they reject the words of Jesus.

They may have to have a moment of silence so they can hear from their dark spirit guide (demon) as to what reply they can post to try and deceive others in to believing Jesus doesn't know what He's talking about.

While your theology is correct, don't stoop to their level of attacks. (I myself am working on this, so I'm not trying to be a hypocrite.) We need to be above reproach.

In context the fruit in Matthew 7:18 is not the fruits of the Holy Spirit so you are making a faulty assumption and therefore your conclusion is incorrect.

Well actually, being above reproach does nothing to offset a doctrine which denounces the efficacy of the work of Christ Jesus on the cross. imo.

This doctrine you affirm is the one that states "the cross was necessary but not sufficient."

How isn't it? The context/topic is false prophets. How isn't that fruits of the "Holy Spirit" when it's talking about prophets? That makes no sense. Are there prophets without a spirit speaking to them? 🤨

It's an attitude change regardless if you want to reject what scripture teaches.

Yeah. Ironic. Some of the most religious people I know are muslims. By their actions they are perfect according to their doctrine but they miss the truth of Christ by a wide margin.
