Kettle Chips (or as some people call them..'CRISPS'. A type of salty snack food, which is what I first thought a Wangdoodle was, since it was designated 'Charlie and the Chocolate Factory' as the rival to the sugar-filled Oompa Loompas. Them potatoes! Outselling cocoa beans 5 to 1! Those blinkin' Bluebird penguins! )

fishing trip (mum could never say it, she used to say 'fish and chips' instead. I don't exactly know where whangdoodles live, but I know exactly where the Zuru brothers live, or at least what suburb. It's near the harbour. They are making a fortune off whangdoodles. They don't call them whangdoodles though. They call them "fugglers' or 'fuglies' where the 'F' stands for Fun or so they say... sorry TMI you don't need to know that)

Hazard (a) guess (what I do all the time regarding words I don't know instead of looking them up in the dictionary. Whangdoodle or wangdoodle? What language is it from? I don't have the Roald Dahl Oxford Dictionary at hand. And is the 'Wh' pronounced as an 'f' like the Whanganui River?)

Guess who? (Oh, no, it's definitely Whangdoodle. I think the other word might be something rude. It's pronounced "wh" as in "whale", or "what", or whence, or even "wheasel". I'm pretty sure it's English, given Roald Dahl's fame, but Whangdoodles are definitely also feared in France and other nations - I mean, I know those Frenchies fear pretty much everything, but even moreso the dreaded Whangdoodles. I'm not sure if they've traveled so far as New Zealand, although the Chieftess of Defenestration - may her Whangdoodle scalp-trophies be ever suitably-preserved - has a theory they may come from space).

who dat? (I sometimes don't pronounce my 'h's put I do mind my 'p's and 'q's though my English is very pidgin. I thought (or fought) Whangdoodles must have come from Norwegia as that's where Roald Dahl is from. Are they of Viking stock? Is that why they are so hairy? I had a Norwegian Forest Cat named 'Fluffy' at least I think she was, sometimes she got stuck in the doorway. She didn't like hiding in boxes...so anyway is Hairy Maclary a relation? Or Scottish? )

Dat sun (Dat sun was a type of car the Whangdoodles used to drive in the olden days. They didn't have very much money, see, because they are lazy and don't get jobs. That's not to say everyone who doesn't have a job is lazy, but every Whangdoodle definitely is lazy - even those Whangdoodles who do have jobs, as their employers will often testify. I'm not sure of the Norwegian link to Whangdoodles, although this is a fascinating theory. Roald Dahl was certainly a domesticated Viking, if he did indeed come from such stock, as my understanding of history is that Viking children who wrote books and were clever were generally poked fun at and left in a blizzard to die. I think Hairy Maclary is more of a no-true Scotsman than a Whangdoodle, but he certainly could be the offspring of a flapdoodle - which is pretty much a limp and lethargic Whangdoodle, known for fiddle-faddling about.)

sun day (it's a kind of ice cream dessert thing with hot fudge and a cheery on top. It's also a very lazy day where you spend time just lazing around in the sun. Words can have several meanings, as I learned in the Dictionary People book I am still reading. I am up to letter 'V' the next chapter is 'W' so I will see if they mention Whangdoodles there. The OED or Oxford English Dictionary is meant to have the entire collection of words in the English language. However, I only really use the Collins or the Scrabble Dictionary. The OED is way too big and can't fit in your pocket. It is no good looking them up on the internet because it's possibly an ancient word from the last century before Internet was invented )

day trips (We need to take a day trip to Whangdoodle-town and disrupt their operation, like Roddy Piper did in Hell Comes to Frogtown. What shall our day trip vehicle be? Personally, I'd go for a 70s Chevy truck. In Hell Comes to Frogtown, they used a 40s Chevy vehicle. Either way, we need to stock up and armor up and get on the road. These battles don't fight themselves! Maybe we can stop for fish & chips on the way 😋)

trips organiser (Ok Carrie Pie, you lead the way. I call shotgun on the Chevy. As well as fish & Chips, I'd like to order oodles of noodles, so we can confuse the whangdoodles. Charlesiii with have to drive his own truck cos I don't think he'd be caught dead in a pink one)

organizer locker (Oh no, we aren't taking that vehicle. We are taking a 70s Chevy, like the one in Red Dawn. But instead of Patrick Swayze driving, Charles will be driving. He's a hardened Whangdoodle combat veteran. I think it's a must. And being able to do hand to hand combat or use weapons/firearms is a requirement or one has to stay back at the bunker or on the cruise ship. We're heading into harsh Whangdoodle territory!)

Locker bee (oh ok, I was rather looking fwd to you driving! I thought Charlesiii was going to be hijacking or hotwiring a Datsun but if he's got his own vehicle then ok. I'm not planning on hiding in any bunker as I've got giraffes but I can tell the BFG to lend you a hand if you need one. He can squash several whangdoodles flat with the heel of his boot.)

bee strong (We raided the bunker. Now we're going after the coffin full of weapons. The time has come! Whangdoodle Terminator Edition!)

strong (wo)man (Do we need to test your strength before we go with the High Striker? For maximum efficiency. I will bring the hammers/mallets. Will this be like Whack-a-Mole? How big are these Whangdoodles? )

woman cave (I have frightening capabilities. Frightening to the Whangdoodles, that is. Well, if you want a Wack-a-Mole type of game, we can construct a Wham-a-Whangdoodle. Over two years ago, we had a Whangdoodle festival/circus type of event. This would have went well for that. Wham a Whangdoodle, get prizes! 👹)

cave in (ok that sounds fun, what will we Wham them with? George Michael songs? )

In August (Ha, clever! I can't sing George Michael...well, actually, I haven't tried...but anyway, I've been told that I sound so much like Tiny Tim when I sing Tiptoe Through the Tulips that it's disturbing. Maybe I can stun the Whangdoodles with my disturbing voice and take a slew of them out in one setting.)

August: Osage (county, a film that made an impression on me. Thanks to Meryl Streep, who also made a Fantastic Mrs. Fox, or so I've heard. Maybe you can rope her into this road trip to help since she could impersonate a Whangdoodle, like the Terminator did when he morphed into a human in T2. She can do all accents. )

Osage nation (History is not my area of expertise, but I believe the Osage nation played a pivotal role in the great war against the Whangdoodles. There are rumours that the first Whangdoodle defenestrations were actually carried out by brave Osage warriors centuries ago, and the Chieftess of Smashingness actually perfected her own defenestrating skills by studying their tactics).
