The Apostle Paul did not teach that no commandments existed until Moses. Instead, Paul Explained that the formal, written code known as the Mosaic Law (the Torah) was not introduced until Mount Sinai.
While critics often point to verses like Romans 5:13—where Paul writes, "sin is not counted where there is no law"—the full context of his letters and broader scripture demonstrates that God’s moral principles and specific commandments were active long before Moses.
1. The Commandment Given to Adam
The very first commandment was given to Adam in the Garden of Eden. God commanded him not to eat from the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil (Genesis 2:16-17). Adam broke this direct command, which is why Paul notes in Romans 5:14 that death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over those whose sins were not like the transgression of Adam

The sinless righteousness is given by grace, but a transformed heart also obeys the Lord and walks as He walked.
Don't say the Spirit guides you. This is a deception. The Spirit of Satan guides many to deception.
The new covenant states that Jesus writes the law on your heart and we know truth and error by the word.

Jer 31:33 But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people.
What are the Commandments of God?
