My friend found out he has cancer

Please pray for an online friend of mine, Steve. He has just found out he has oesophagus cancer despite 2 different drs telling him for he last 8 months he just had acid reflux. He is saved but has been struggling for some time and is really scared of the physical process he has to face. His son is deeply affected also.

I told him I would pray and ask this forum to pray too. Both for healing, and for peace with God and in the circumstance.
Please say a prayer for him at this difficult time.

Also I hope your friend leans on the promises of God , and can trust God when He says that His peace will pass all of Steve's understanding , and guard Steves heart and mind in Christ Jesus...

I truly do believe that God , through the power of His Holy Spirit gives us rest when such awful things come upon us in this life , His peace keeps us still before Him ...

Lord we pray for Tararose's friend Steve, please touch and heal him from cancer. Lord bless his medical treatment, let your healing, peace and strength be upon Steve. Lord bless his son with your peace and understanding. Lord bless this prayer request, in Jesus precious name, Amen!
 
I want to say a big thank you for prayers. The treatment at present is working, and remarkably quickly too. The main cancer is shrinking and affected areas are far less inflamed and improving so far. This is a wonderful and encouraging update I had from Steve, and I wanted to share and to say please don't stop praying. It really has made all the difference, both in encouraging Steve personally and to his improvement in health. God bless you all, and praise the Lord :)

Another update for those who prayed.

Sadly I just learned that Steve's cancer has once again started to grow.
He is feeling extremely discouraged as you can imagine, and feels his faith is on the edge.
Please pray once again.

Thanks for your prayer request. I too am dealing with cancer. At first it was very scary. My wife cried and I agonized. We were both shocked. I had no medical insurance. Our regular income was early social security retirement. I had planned to work temporary industrial construction jobs to supplement our income, but that would now not be possible.

The important thing is for Steve to get treatment as soon as possible. He will need health insurance, unless he is wealthy enough to pay. I was able to get covered by the VA. If he is a veteran, he should talk with a VA rep and find out if he qualifies. I was not a disabled vet but my income was low enough the previous year to qualify me. The VA is generous with income requirements.

Some Christians think it is wrong to get medical help. The truth is that God can heal us wether or not we are getting medical help.
