Please, please PLEASE stop using the word Infidel. I don't wanna have to go after you like i did that Jihadist on Yahoo Answers... But, We have to realize that it isnt just BAM straight up Illegal. It's VERY black and white. Prohibition was not encompassed throughout the entire world. There are places that still have it completely legal. In America, it's so black and white it's not funny. You go to the wrong state with a certain amount and BAM you're in jail for 20 to life, When complete and total MORONS like Doug Benson consume that amount legally in under 3 hours, lol. It to me, is immoral to persecute all equally blanketed under the law, and i guess the only way i could answer that is that i would keep petitioning the Lord to loosen the chains of the oppressed. *shrug*

Lol an infidel is just an unbeliever, muslims for instance are infidels. No idea who Doug Benson is though.

I get your point of view about not wanting people to be persecuted and all, and that's nice.

What I mean though is more general I guess. If by your logic God has allowed it to be illegal in America because unbelievers smoke it, then how can it be immoral for it to be illegal if unbelievers still smoke it? Now it might be immoral to throw someone in jail for however long in your opinion, but that's not what I'm really asking. I am asking more generally, like about whether it is moral or immoral for it to be illegal regardless of consequences.

does calling weed "cannabis" make it sound more sophisticated or something? Cheech and Chong would have never called it cannabis.

There are studies that have been done that have proved that cannabis has helped many with cancer. I even have a friend who tried it, but it wiped her out and she had no energy.

In fact, the government is in the process of synthesizing it so that the drug companies can make their money and leave the little guy out of the process.Our state has legalized it for medical purposes. It not only helps cancer, but also helps those with severe chronic pain. I have considered taking it myself. But you can't drive or have a driver's license if you go on medical marijuana. But if sometime in the future I just can't take the pain anymore, I would consider it.

Ive never had an issue with your posts and have hit many likes on your thoughts. So I hope this is not going to be the issue that comes between us. I'll tell you why that sarcastic comment was made. When someone who is a Christian tries to paint a picture that Jesus would sit and hit a bong with them I consider that eye roll worthy. Now if the person wasn't a Christian,or was 16,the comment would be different. I expect a Christian of his age to know better. And I find it offensive that anyone would say that God has no problem with people being high. The Bible says our body is the temple of the Holy Ghost. And the go to response that its a plant so of course God doesn't mind if we smoke up really gets old and is very immature. I care that a young person here may see this thread and think God condones smoking up,He does not. That is why he got the response he did. And his rapid fire insults to anyone who tried to say anything different than what he believed shows his immaturity. I truly hope you dont agree with him and that you make your rebuke known to him as you have to me.I did not misunderstand the OP,nor was I making fun,Im quite serious. I cannot believe someone would try and say God condones people being high and hooked on weed. And it is offensive to me.

If a person is truly ill,in pain as in cancer that is a different situation. No one has more compassion for people with cancer than I do or sickness. But many of the people saying they need weed for medical reasons is a joke. We already have a nation of shiftless people,we dont need to encourage them.If there is a genuine reason that is a different story but the OP did not say anything about that.

Listen,lettuce, I have no anger issue. You are not doing your friend any good by letting him stay in the bondage of sin. I hope you hear me out. People say I sin,you sin,we all sin together,well the Bible never says that. Do we fail? Yes. Do we live in sin? No. Now I dont know how the pastor handled the situation and you can expand on that,perhaps he handled it wrong,pastors are human too. But let me tell you a story. I ministered at the Salvation Army in downtown Toronto. The pastor "warned" my family and I that there would be alcoholics,pimps,prostitutes and drug dealers and addicts there in the service. We sang and ministered and people came to the altar and after the service we talked with them. When people come to an altar,or come to the church for help,they come to the healer,they come to the deliverer,they come to Jesus. And when they leave they should not leave still in bondage to satan. They leave a new creature,a new creation.We dont tell people who come,well you're ok just the way you are because we all fail. Where did Jesus give that message to anyone?! No! We are to encourage them to live differently,to walk a different path. My uncle was a lifelong alcoholic and he was saved on his deathbed.He just could not give up the bottle. And he lived a miserable,miserable life because of it. So I get very upset when I hear Christians say "hey its ok to live in bondage,we're all sinners" because that is not the message Christ gave. He promised new life a life free from the bondage of sin,life more abundantly. Failing is different from living in sin,in bondage to sin. A Christian should always be pressing ahead,moving forward. I hope you understand what I am saying. Dont take away from the power of God to reform a sinner and make them a new man/woman.

Not sure who Dave is... But cheech and chong are part of the problem my friend. Anyone who calls Cannabis "Marijuana" is crucifying the truth to a small degree, because the term marijuana was begun in america to give a mexican sounding degrading connotation to it. It's not a mexican problem that the govt. might have you believe.

Ok,well you can feel persecuted all you want. I was hoping you would accept what I was saying with a mature mind. Apparently thats not going to happen. I did not see where you gave any testimony,just dislike for a cop. That is not a testimony. A testimony is about how God turned your life around,or what good He has done in your life. And the poster that gave you the first response is known for stirring up trouble just to argue,so you may not want to align yourself with them. I doubt you read my post and if you did explain to me what you think is wrong with what I said.

First off, why would we hate ANYBODY? Secondly, pot IS dangerous.
I have personal, anecdotal, and empirical evidence that it is. It is an hallucinogenic, carcinogenic, and robs the user of a desire to be productive.

I know you may think differently when high on it, but that doesn't change the facts.
God also created plants necessary for cocaine and heroin. There may in fact be medical purposes for marijuana, but don't kid yourself to think getting high for pleasure is something God endorses.

Of all of the gifts from God why single out this particular 'gift' from God? God does not make anything illegal, laws created by man does that. I suppose that the states that have made pot legal have a superior moral sense that the others. Personally, I have nothing against it but I have never used it whether illegal or otherwise. In certain applications it may be beneficial but steady day to day use is unwise.
