What is the nature of saving faith? How have you seen faith show in your own life or in the life of others?

Romans, Chapter 4 contains this passage that deals with the "nature" of saving faith IMO.....

17) (As it is written, I have made thee a father of many nations,) before him whom he believed, even God, who quickeneth the dead, and calleth those things which be not as though they were.
18) Who against hope believed in hope, that he might become the father of many nations, according to that which was spoken, So shall thy seed be.
19) And being not weak in faith, he considered not his own body now dead, when he was about an hundred years old, neither yet the deadness of Sara's womb:
20) He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God;
21) And being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform.
22) And therefore it was imputed to him for righteousness.

saving faith our whole being to be involved.....body, mind, spirit.....to believe that Jesus is who He says He is and will do what He says He will do....... again, IMO, saving faith is the kind of faith spoken of in John 3:16. A continous, never ending faith, and NOT a one time event as some believe. Jesus spoke of this as well when He said:

Matthew, Chapter 24:

13) But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.

I understand that a "saving" faith is an "enduring" faith which lasts till the end!

Thank you for this post, you have fed my soul.

May I add that we need to act on our faith that shows we have faith in all the Lord tells us enough to accept it into our lives.

Hold up!

Saving faith must be instant.. happen not over a long time.. but immediate!

Why?

Because it is all Jesus working on someone's soul to save them eternally! It's not effort on someone's part!

Romans 10, shows of a process of believing in Jesus that happens and then is done. Saved past tense following on from belief!

Aren't you guys mixing up sanctification with justification again?

:)

Saving faith or faith that save is believe and follow Jesus teaching

Noah have saving faith, he believe God information that He will float the earth than act accordingly, built an arch, his faith produce action, built an arch

For us saving faith is a faith that strong enough to invite Jesus into our heart to let Him to be our leader.

Precious friend, you are Right On Target, Again!: God's Simple Will!:

is not the Solution to Confusion recognizing
God's Differences Between "HIS Relationship With us," And
"our fellowship with HIM!"?

God's Will, Today, Under HIS PURE GRACE? Very Simply:

(1) God Establishes HIS Eternal Relationship With those who humbly:
believe, 100% trust, place Total faith, In The LORD JESUS CHRIST, HIS
Death {Precious BLOOD}, Burial, And HIS Resurrection, According To The
Scriptures! (
1 Corinthians 15:3-4; cp Ephesians 2:8-9; Romans 3-5 KJB!)

"GRACE Through faith" In The Merits Of HIS
Precious And
ALL-Sufficient BLOOD Results:

All sins Forgiven, HIS Eternal Life, And, Peace With God!
{This Is
Eternal DELIVERANCE From the PENALTY of sin!}
Justification First, And, THEN:

(2) The believer SHOULD do "good works" {Which will NEVER
EQUAL CHRIST's
TOTAL PAYMENT For the above PENALTY of sin!},
for Which we Are Created In CHRIST JESUS, to perform for HIM,
having "been Called into
fellowship With HIM!" Amen?:

We "work out OUR OWN salvation" {This SHOULD Be a
lifetime of DELIVERANCE From the POWER of sin!}
Sanctification:

(2a) Fulfil ALL Of His Law, In "ONE Word: LOVE your neighbor
as yourself!" (
Galatians 5:14; Romans 13:8-10 KJB!)

(2b) Study HIS Word Of Truth, Rightly Divided, to show
yourself
Approved Unto God! (2 Timothy 2:15 KJB!)

Eternal Results: reward {or loss} (1 Corinthians 3 : 8-15 KJB!),
ruling and reigning With CHRIST, Which Will FINALLY Be At
The Judgment Day:

(3) CHRIST's GLORIFICATION of All "members" Of HIS Body!!
{This Is
Eternal DELIVERANCE From the PRESENCE of sin!}
Amen?

----------------------------------
Conclusion:

BIG Differences Between God's Relationship And our fellowship!
Correct?

Please be Richly Encouraged, enlightened, exhorted, and edified!

I think it was Reformers who said, "Faith is the EMPTY Hand of a beggar".
I like that.

Nice thanks for sharing. Thinking of God, what can you give him who has everything? One can say to God “ All I am is yours and all I have is yours.” Still God is Creator and Ruler of the Universe. We are but human and small.

We have to be careful to explain what is saving faith look like to Muslim.

I hear so many time debate between Muslim and new Christian

In my country a lot of Muslim convert to Christian, that new Christian broadcast open debate about salvation.

Muslim caller always attack new Christian that Christianity encourage murder, robing, and all
Criminal.
They say Christian believe what ever you do, murder, rape, lie don't matter, as long as you believe that Jesus is god, you go to heaven.

One Muslim tell me, in this case I will rob the bank, if police arrest me, I will say, Jesus pay my penalty, so you don't have the right to arrest me.

I believe faith not only believe that Jesus is God, devil believe Jesus is God. Faith is also believe His teaching, and His teaching is to love not murder or robing the bank

Yes, and whatever we receive, we receive with humility and a thankful heart.

It should be this way always. Still one may boast in strength or talent but these also are a gift from God.

Faith is the substance of things hoped for the evidence of things not seen,,it is blind faith yet it is not blind faith. The one who is faithful has shown himself

faith of a mustard seed moves mountains, faith so tiny that it’s hard to see can grow into a tree so large it dwarfs most other trees

faith brings new birth, which brings new life, which brings change, we are not like we were before

I don’t understand faith being described as the substance of things hoped for and evidence of things unseen. What does that mean?

Essentially it means, faith feeds on God's promises. It hears, it believes, it grows confident, it steps out serving God.

That by hearing God’s word that is how faith grows?

That would come under hearing the promises of God. God's law is not a faith builder as it tells us what we are to do, God's (unconditional) promises tells us what God has done, is doing, and will do for us. That builds faith.

Here is the Promise...

Genesis 15:5 (NASB) And He took him outside and said, "Now look toward the heavens, and count the stars, if you are able to count them." And He said to him, "So shall your descendants be."

Abraham's response...

Genesis 15:6 (KJV) And he believed in the LORD; and he counted it to him for righteousness.

And Paul's explanation...

Romans 4:2-3 (KJV) For if Abraham were justified by works, he hath whereof to glory; but not before God. For what saith the scripture? Abraham believed God, and it was counted unto him for righteousness.

What is the nature of saving faith?
It is not complicated. It is absolute faith and trust in Christ and His finished work of salvation, for one's own personal salvation. It includes repentance toward God and faith toward our LORD Jesus Christ (Acts 20:21). Which means making Christ both Lord and Savior of your soul (Acts 2:36).

We are all made cldean by the Blood of the Lamb of God. The sprinkling of the Blood sanctifies all who receive Him.

Abraham started a journey to a land he could not see that would be given to him and his family

noah started to build a boat for a flood he could not see

Rahab hid two spies not knowing if she would be caught, and was spared

abraham offered up his son, not being able to see that God would raise him from the dead. But having faith he would

we have faith in a man who died 2000 years ago we did not see, who rose from the dead, which we did not witness, and in a heaven we can not see

its our hope we trust in

abraham had a hope of this land, this promise

noah had a hope of salvation because he trusted God would do what he said

Rahab feared the God of Israel more than her own Gods and had a hope God would save her

I hope this helps
