So what was found in the dinosaur bones? Raspberry jam?

... I just want to have a reasonable discussion.

Did you read this interview. It does not support the creationist claims made here. Instead it accuses the creationists of twisting the findings to suit their own perceptions.

After all, she says, what God asks is faith, not evidence. “If you have all this evidence and proof positive that God exists, you don’t need faith. I think he kind of designed it so that we’d never be able to prove his existence. And I think that’s really cool.”

Yes, she admits to being a Christian. What' the point you are trying to make through this quote?

People say creationists misrepresent evolutionists, I don't think that's true. At least not of ministries like CMI, AiG and ICR. Evolutionists definitely misrepresent creationists though. They make us look stupid and don't report what we really believe but a caricature of our beliefs. In all of the creationist articles I've read, the authors provide actual quotes from the scientists, cite the references and also give their thoughts. Creationists disagree but they don't misrepresent evolutionists. If they did, they wouldn't provides their sources for people to check. If they were lying that would be hugely detrimental to their cause.

I think God gave us a gazillion +1 ways to prove his existence. Science proves it more and more each day. The difference between science and God is....God has always been constant, and has put in place the natural laws of the universe...the unchanging laws that create balance out of what should be absolute chaos. Science is ever changing, and is mostly based on theory. What is 'proven' as fact today, will be dismissed as fiction in the future. Whenever there is a human element involved, it's near impossible to get uncontaminated/unbiased data. Sometimes we'll get a glimpse into these natural laws, and when this happens, it creates a valid argument for intelligent design. Quantum Physics is a perfect example. The very essence and concept of what we know of it, shows the very frame work of how prayer works....and how large prayer groups can have greater effects.
It can be proven over and over without a lab, without scientists......it just works. We create a collective mind of positive thought, or positive energy, and in turn, it attracts and returns the same type of energy. Negative attracts negative, positive attracts positive.

Also.......Nephilim created Eskimos, The Wu Tang Clan, Kenny G., BB Guns, Certs Mints, and Apple I-Devices.....and possibly Strep Throat. Aside from that, they're worthless. ;)

On the subject of faith..... We have faith in all types of things we KNOW exists. I have faith that each time I press the brake pedal on my truck, it's gonna stop. I know those brakes are there, and it gives me a strong sense of faith. It seems you are all talking of a God who is all but dead!!!! What happens when God reveals Himself to you? When He heals you? Blesses you? My wife was healed of a severe form of COPD, and she was healed from it. God touched her, and knew her name. Extreme faith followed. Faith is a belief in things unseen but, not necessarily unfelt.

Read the last paragraph. No DNA was found.

no, re-read that. they weren't able to sequence a complete genome, but they did find fragmentary DNA, and were able to amplify and sequence parts of it via amplification. the last paragraph states that they weren't able to get samples from a large number of loci - because they only had two thigh bones to work with!

this was done twenty years ago, when all sequencing was done by amplification. in the last year advances in genetic technology have made it possible to sequence individual strands, and it's been demonstrated that genetic material within a single animal can show a great deal of diversity, even within a single organ, so that amplification techniques can give misleading results. what this old paper demonstrated was that genetic material can be preserved in dinosaur bones, and that material can be analyzed. they did cleanly sequence 9 fragmentary chains - diagrammed them on page 1231 in the article.
i'd be interested to see what more advanced techniques on preserved soft tissue might come up with!

No matter what fancy linguistics you try to employ, red blood cells were found in a "70 million" year old bone.....and in Montana no less, where temps swing from 40 below zero to 100 above. Excuse my skepticism but Ms Schweitzer is as much of a Christian as the earth is flat.

Oh, really? There are plenty of stories of terrible 'lizards' throughout the world cultures, across the last 4,000 or so years. Stories of dragons describe dinosaur-like creatures. Yes, some of them are exaggerated in their details but others are quite credible.

yes,i agree "across the last 4000 years"

Abraham/2000bc
Moses/1500bc
David/1000bc
Daniel/500bc
Jesus/1ad,,,
i suppose this is approximate, but somewhat close. But in (Job 38;4) God says to Job,"where wast thou when I laid the foundations?",,ect. so he is speaking to job of things (long before he was born),,,then in (job 38;21) "Knowest thou it,because thou wasn't then born? (OR)because the number of thy days is great?",,,,So god is pointing out that Job was not yet born(but learned of these things in his age),,,,

But then by the time he continues over to around (Job 39;15) and by then he uses the tense,"behold Behemoth,WHICH I MADE WITH THEE:he eateth the grass as an ox.",,,and when he speaks of Leviathan(Job 41;1) and also the unicorn in (job 39;9),,,,in all three examples he ask him if he could (interact with them) in "one way or another",,,as if they actually EXISTED ALONG SIDE JOB.,,,,It's difficult to access the actual beast being spoken of but it seems god both addressed things created LONG BEFORE JOB LIVED(Job 38;9) and others he created with him(job 40;15),,,,,hmm,unless god is meaning mankind when he stated "which i made with thee",,,

In times past(inspired by other threads),,i became curious about the "dating process of the writing of Job",,certain things i noticed were these i mentioned about the friends of Job i.e. "when they were alive" which is why i think they (his friends) would have been alive (after Abraham and before David) so i think your dating process is fairly accurate "4000 or so years ago + or - a little. I also notice that throughout the book of Job there is no mention to the "levitical laws/Moses ect.",,,but who his friends are "Temanite,Shuhite, and Naamathite" they would not have been under the law.

I was always curious about the dinosaurs also(their origin) whether Nephillim or created by god,the book of 1enoch(if we trust it),may be a source of the Myth this is enoch 7 The Book of Enoch: The Book of Enoch: Chapter VII and also the "book of Jasher" both allude to the fact that they(fallen angels) committed these acts both with the daughters of men and with animals. But now you probably have already read of this(from your other post you stated you were researching it on www) so where the origin of the (myth/?) is from these earlier accounts.

Something else i find interesting in science verses scripture is the fact that depending on how a body is buried it is possible to petrify in a short period of time depending on conditions. bill Hickok was buried and about 10 years later was reburied and when exhumed was already petrified. Obit of the Day (Historical): “Wild Bill” Hickok... • Obit of the Day again at big bend national park they have found several dinosaurs http://www.nps.gov/bibe/naturescience/dino.htm along with "out of place things"i.e. sharks teeth NPS Paleontology Research Abstract Volume so at some point in time the water level was at this mountain range?????

p.s. a bully beef can(brand name bully beef) was a can of corned beef that was sent to Australia while the English were colonizing it was sent at first as m.r.e. type food for the soldiers in the field. because of the camping style of life the soldiers lived(out doors) the early type of bully beef can(with a wire handle added) was made into a kettle to boil their tea in(over an open fire),they cured the can with grease the same way we cure cast iron skillets. The problem was(the tea leaves floated) so to drive them down to the bottom they would "swing the billy". They stood like they were winding up to throw a softball and "holding the handle" swung the bully around in a clockwise circle, the centrifugal force drove the tea leaves to the bottom of the bully can and "and presto,it's 4oclock tea time in the field",,,lol,,It's a lost art from English/Australian history but I hope you like it,,if you search for "billy can",,,"swinging the bully",,swinging the billy ect. there is a little imfo on the www,,,"interesting thing's to tell your grandchildren",,,,,

Ah, that explains this belief! The book of Enoch and the Book of Jasher! But they're more like Midrash or biblical fiction. They're not meant to be taken as the inspired Word of God, or held to the same standard. It's worrying that some Christians do such a thing. Speculations are fun but they're not godly truth.

I recently came across this theory that dinosaurs weren't created by God but that they were genetically-engineered by Nephilim. Personally, I believe God created dinosaurs (and similar extinct creatures) roughly 6,000 years ago. Where do people even find a smattering of biblical evidence for beliefs about Nephilim manipulating the DNA of creatures to create dinosaurs? Yes, dinosaurs were weird-looking and some were huge and others dangerous, but that doesn't mean God didn't create them. I Googled this topic and only found crack-pot conspiracy pages and the first entry on Google (GodLikeProductions) bans ISPs from the word get-go (they must be preserving the truth - lol). Is this a well-known belief? Has it been around long? Also, where's the 'evidence'? Thanks

God created dinosaurs. all wild beast, etc... they was roaming around with Adam and woman
