Nowadays, the fights are not fair. In the past boys took pride in the fights being fair...one on one, no weapons or equal weapons (such as a duel). Nowadays the protocol is to hand over the iPhone etc. You can watch videos of theft in South America like Rio on YouTube where gangs roam the streets even in busy areas and have no shame. Of course everyone should use precautions but it is hard to be safe 100% of the time.

I know some guys that have been... nothing like that happened to them; but we've all heard the bad stories and stereotypes about the corruption that goes on in prisons.

Resist; and use the legitimate authority channels at your disposal. If the authority is corrupt, you might get killed. There's obviously some situations like that where you might not be able to escape that kind of abuse- in which case, that's the patience and endurance of the saints. You don't become a part of the corruption hierarchy.

Ok, now you are saying that prisoners who get raped are part of the corruption....

They can be. So, when a CO has sex with an inmate it's automatically considered rape, right? But a prisoner still has moral agency- they can use sex with a CO to their advantage. They can and do become part of the corruption.

I'm glad you quoted what I said about men, though- the prison population is a good example of an exception; but really it's only because of a legal technicality where they can't legally consent. Surely you realize that authorities can only strip you of your right to consent- they don't strip you of your moral agency and actual ability to consent.

This could still be rape, the man may be choosing between CO versus others. What if there is no CO or such advantage involved? Say, a cellmate vs others on the court.

I had really hoped the convo didn't get to this point, but it seems some men still do not sympathize with other men in this situation.

Didn't you say the one inmate might afford some protection? That's a really crappy tradeoff; but that's an advantage. It's definitely terrible that stuff like that happens. People in prison should be working and being rehabilitated, not fighting sexual exploitation.
 
And of course false accusations do happen, but you'd be surprised how many women are actually raped and the guy gets away with it.
I know someone who told me she was sexually assaulted. I have no reason to believe she was lying. The guy got away with it because he paid two junkies to lie for him on the witness stand

I had a co-worker who was sexually assaulted on camera at Walmart and the defense attorney asked her what she was wearing.
That attorney should have been held in contempt for even asking that question

isn't that an attorney's job though? To determine facts? I know it's probably terrifying to actively recall something like that; but it's a basic part of the "who, what, where, when, why".

Because what she was wearing is irrelevant. Assault is still assault.
But of course you're going to blame the victim because that's what you've done throughout this entire conversation

Bruh... If it's on video, they have to determine that it's actually her in the video, right? So, if she says she was wearing a space suit and a cowboy hat- and the person in the video is wearing a firefighter helmet and Christmas pajamas, then it's not the same person.

It is still rape; he is just choosing the slightly less severe option.
