You don't make sense to me.
They had earlier asked,what good are we if we're not trying to reach the lost?
That's somewhat of a paraphrase of their earlier post.

It seems they're thinking they need to try to reach the list here,in our community.

However, I found in read
ing their postings that they are not fully aware of what the Gospel entails. Which would make their aforementioned outreach to the lost in any capacity impossible

No it would not. Nowhere does Scripture say that faith makes a person into their own savior.
That view is due to your denominational brainwashing.
I LOVE that the power rests solely with a loving God, who gives every sinner including you and me
the opportunity to repent and be saved.

If the power rests solely with God as you said, then what a person does or does not do should have no bearing whatsoever on whether or not they become saved. If, however, it is dependent upon the person, as you said in your prior post ("regarding how Christ saves which requires the sinner’s repentance or faith or cooperation. God initiates; sinners cooperate or not "), then it doesn't rest solely with a loving God, in fact, it doesn't rest with God at all - it rests solely upon a person's willingness to cooperate or not, which places their salvation squarely into their hands, not God's. Yet, as scripture states, Christ is the Savior, and it is He alone who saves, which He accomplishes perfectly and in its completeness.

God causes a person to believe in Christ by gifting them by Grace, He gives them to believe on Christ on His behalf Phil 1:29

29 For unto you it is given in the behalf of Christ, not only to believe on him, but also to suffer for his sake;

So that's the Apostles teaching

God does not cause us to believe, He enables us to believe. I stated in my original post in this thread that it was God's grace that enabled us to believe but it is we who do the believing, God does not believe for us as @rogerg wants to try and claim. He even quoted texts that stated we believe but then wants to say God did it denigrating me in the process. Plus, the title of your thread is about coming to Christ, but he wanted to make it about the act of salvation itself.

Grace enables us to come of our own volition. We are not dragged to Christ unwillingly. We might stop and start, we may zig-zag along the way, we may even be somewhat 2 steps forward and 1 step back, but ultimately grace enables us to see and we like what we see and grace continues to enable us to keep heading toward the light.

If the power rests solely with God as you said, then what a person does or does not do should have no bearing whatsoever on whether or not they become saved.

It does if it is what the Lord has required of them. He is the One who calls on us to believe. It does not mean it in any way causes salvation because it is God's word that causes salvation. He said believe in His Son. God honours His word when we do as He said.

If God doesn't not make your will free in salvation, then it is not free at all and you make Him a liar.

Thank you for correcting me, I'm not the best at spelling lol.

what do you think of the scripture I shared?

It is HIS word.
You're welcome. I'm not interested in going round and round. I already hopped off the Ouch merry-go-round.

It sounds as though you want the power, but God solely planned from the beginning to create humans, not robots,
who were free to sin and did so, but God also planned a way for Him to justly forgive those who repent and
become one with Christ via non-meritorious faith. Nowhere does Scripture say that salvation rests "solely' with God.
On the contrary cooperation with God is always required, and cooperation is impossible without the operation.

@GWH

No it would not. Nowhere does Scripture say that faith makes a person into their own savior.

It doesn't have to say it for it to be true. It's a simple deduction if you condition salvation from sin on your faith instead of soley on the Cross of Christ.

The power wouldn't "solely" be with God were it dependent upon their actions - it would be theirs because their salvation would be dependent upon their free will choices, not God. So, if salvation could be by their freewill, then God would be outside of it. It would only be of God if their actions did not cause the result. They would, in effect, have caused their own salvation by their choice - or, if they didn't choose correctly, they wouldn't be saved - in either case it would be entirely up to them as to result and makes them into their savior - it places God in the backseat and makes them the driver.
Of course, I'm only indulging in this for argument's sake, in true spiritual reality, that point of view is spiritually absurd given that man cannot affect his salvation since God never shares His glory with anyone and salvation is to God's glory. It was by God's exclusive choice from before the foundation of the world, as to who specifically would be saved based upon His prerogative and good pleasure alone- and it is God who makes it to unfold the precisely way He wants it to, so it will/can never leave His control.
The "believe in His Son", is true. Should someone truly believe in Christ as the Savior, they have been and shall be saved. However, that is only a minor part of the doctrine. The major part is who will believe and why will they? The answer is that true belief comes only from God as a gift given to those whom He saves - true belief cannot come from man's intellect - the spiritually dead cannot believe.
I'm kind of tired so hope this is understandable.

Actually man wasn't free to sin or not, God decreed he would freely sin, he therefore had no other choice but to freely sin.

This is the man of sin speech! Jonah 2:9

But I will sacrifice unto thee with the voice of thanksgiving; I will pay that that I have vowed. Salvation is of the Lord.

Nowhere does Scripture say that salvation rests "solely' with God.

That is a truly ludicrous statement. That Christ is the one and only Savior is all over the Bible and is the foundation of the Bible. That is why it says, "the Savior". It is singular because of the "the" in "the Savior - He is the only Savior.

Psalm62-1-2a-Acts4-12-Philippians2-9s.png

Psalm 62 v 1-2; Acts 4 v 12; Philippians 2 v 9 ~ In God alone my soul finds rest; my salvation comes from Him. 2He alone is my rock and my salvation. Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved. God gave Him the name above all names.

@GWH Said:

Agreed.
It's an oxymoron. Faith makes us our own Savior? Faith in Christ makes us our own Savior isn't an example of intelligent understanding of his Gospel.

Then please explain to us just what God has done for the non-elect?

the same as He does for all who believe as you do - who's trust is in themselves for salvation rather than in Christ as the Savior.
