Oh My Golly! Tamales
So easy to make
even a man can do it!​
This recipe makes two pans

2 Disposable Rectangle Meal Prep Pans 7.94 x 5.44 x 1.81 deep (at Walmart)
3 cans (15 oz) Hormel or another good brand of Tamales
2 cans (15 oz) Hormel or another good brand of Chili w/beans
1 8.75 oz can of whole yellow corn (drain juice)
Fritos

Instructions
  • Pour chili into sauce pan.
  • Begin heating over med heat, while adding corn and stirring occasionally
  • Remove paper from tamales and line each pan with half of the tamales
  • Add generous layer of Fritos over tamales
  • Pour chili mixture over tamales leaving room at top for a 2nd layer of Fritos
  • Add 2nd layer of Fritos
  • One pan may be frozen prior to baking – if desired.
  • Bake for 1 hour in a 350 degree oven.
Serve with your favorite salsa and salad.

I've never made it real authentic tamales but I'd love to make some with corn husks sometime! Sounds delicious to bake them like that.

If you like TexMex then you will like this! I have never made it with authentic tamales. It probably would make it better, but would take the easiness out of it.
I'll just have to settle for canned!
