There are 7 other mandatory Sabbaths under the Old Covenant: All punishable by death for disobedience. They carried the same importance as the 7[SUP]th[/SUP] day Sabbath. If you’re going to keep one you have to keep them all among other observances that go with them.

The Day of Atonement

“It is a Sabbath of solemn rest for you, and you shall afflict your souls. It is a statute forever” (a Sabbath)

Feast of Trumpets

‘In the seventh month, on the first day of the month, you shall have a Sabbath-rest, a memorial of blowing of trumpets, a holy convocation. You shall do no customary work on it;’” (a Sabbath)

Feast of Unleavened Bread (seven days you must eat unleavened bread)

  • On the first day you shall have a holy convocation; you shall do no customary work on it (a Sabbath).
  • The seventh day shall be a holy convocation; you shall do no customary work on it. (a Sabbath)

The Feast of Weeks

“And you shall proclaim on the same day that it is a holy convocation to you. You shall do no customarywork on it. It shall be a statute forever in all your dwellings throughout your generations.” (a Sabbath)

The Feast of Tabernacles

  • “On the first day there shall be a holy convocation. You shall do no customary work on it.” (a Sabbath)
  • “On the eighth day you shall have a holy convocation, and you shall offer an offering made by fire to the LORD. It is a sacred assembly, and you shall do no customary work on it.” (a Sabbath)

Based on your understanding on all the sabbaths , which one of the sabbaths Jesus fulfilled and which He did Not

Thank you

It is quite obvious that you have no real knowledge of Moses and the Levitical System.

Leviticus 25

The Lord said to Moses at Mount Sinai,2 “Speak to the Israelites and say to them: ‘When you enter the land I am going to give you, the land itself must observe a sabbath to the Lord.3 For six years sow your fields, and for six years prune your vineyards and gather their crops.4 But in the seventh year the land is to have a year of sabbath rest, a sabbath to the Lord. Do not sow your fields or prune your vineyards.5 Do not reap what grows of itself or harvest the grapes of your untended vines. The land is to have a year of rest.6 Whatever the land yields during the sabbath yearwill be food for you—for yourself, your male and female servants, and the hired worker and temporary resident who live among you,7 as well as for your livestock and the wild animals in your land. Whatever the land produces may be eaten

Leviticus 23:32

It is a day of sabbath rest (Not Friday night to Saturday Night) for you, and you must deny yourselves. From the evening of the ninth day of the month until the following evening you are to observe your sabbath."

I would suggest that if it is so simple then I am sure you are keeping these Sabbath laws which were clearly established by Moses as well.

Are you keeping them or not? If not then by your own definition, you are a sinner as a Sabbath breaker. Now I can imagine that your next move here will be to say that the above mentioned Sabbaths don't apply. To that I will ask where is this stated in the New Testament.

Make sure that you keep these Sabbaths as you feel they will some how keep you right with God.

Blessings

God said the new day starts in the evening.
[SUP]Genesis1:5 [/SUP]And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day.

[SUP]genesis1: 8 [/SUP]And God called the firmament Heaven. And the evening and the morning were the second day.

[SUP]Genesis1:13 [/SUP]And the evening and the morning were the third day. and so on

Leviticus 23:31"You shall do no work at all. It is to be a perpetual statute throughout your generations in all your dwelling places. 32"It is to be a sabbath of complete rest to you, and you shall humble your souls; on the ninth of the month at evening, from evening until evening you shall keep your sabbath."
this is about The Day of Atonement not the weekly Sabbath, but even here you can see that the Day starts in the evening. The weekly Sabbath is from the evening of Friday to the evening of Saturday

is it Saturday all around the world?:)

well supposing all of our profiles or correct the three of us who were at that time speaking were all in the same hemisphere so it at the time was Saturday. in post 27 i refer to the fact that the sabbath imo is the 7th day,i.e. "Sunday the day the others say is the sabbath" and ",,,,"i do not contend as to which is the 7th day",,but then the responses were to convince me that the 7th(which i already believed) was the sabbath and seeing they thought this i thought why post any further and so then ceased.

it's difficult to be on the internet and protect any of our personal info. me and you both have been members for a long while. my flag at first was the Netherlands but is now the u.s.,,,your is the u.s. but long ago was a tiny island not far north of dom.rep.(i was on a sailboat not far from it at the time headed for Suriname),so it caught my eye.,,,now i don't disagree that any of us protect our per.effects,i think it wise. i in the beginning searched for a screen name and found there were 5 world wide using "iamsoandso" one a woman another a man from Spain one from occupy w.s (i then became one of these, but have never met any of the others),

over time i as you also have noticed as one person was banned another new member appeared, but after a while of reading the same issues being discussed match the one banned(but without the offensive things),,,so i suppose they saw the error and so it doesn't offed me. over time i noticed one member that has the exact same screen name with one number difference. and another that was an older man and now is a young man with another screen name.

now me and you along with many others have been here and posting for years so we know we are none i mentioned. my point though is we will never pinpoint the timezone by hemisphere and be able to conclude where it is Saturday or Sunday with anyone's screen name. and its probably all for the better that is to protect our selves on the www. ,,,lol once one of us was from "north Korea",,,every time i looked at that flag i wanted bad to p.m. and ask them ?'s about n. Korea(because of the things we see on the news),,,but now their from another nation,i agree protect our p. effects,,,,

Why would the 1st century believers/Gentiles be told about hearing Moses in every city being read in the synagogues every sabbath? Doesn't look like 1st century believers are replacement theology, nor are they being told that the scriptures are old and done away with. They are being told 5 things, the last is Go to the place where Moses is being read every Sabbath. This is where I am at today, meeting every Sabbath in the home with many other believers and we read the Torah portions starting at 2 pm. The fellowship and sharing, as the Holy Spirit moves us, is awesome. I feel my spirit being filled with joy and gladness and look forward to next Sabbath.

Act 15:19 Wherefore my sentence is, that we trouble not them, which from among the Gentiles are turned to God:
Act 15:20 But that we write unto them, that they abstain from pollutions of idols, and from fornication, and from things strangled, and from blood.
Act 15:21 For Moses of old time hath in every city them that preach him, being read in the synagogues every sabbath day

Reading from the context of Acts 15. The reason they have these commands were so that they may not offend the Jewish believers that followed the law. This was to remove the offense among them out of love, for religious, moral, and physical purity. These are not applied to everyone. Back then, before a they were saved they were pagans. Morally we should be upright though!

So this wasn't legalistic, this was love so that they won't offend. Paul told us, live by love and live by the Holy Spirit (Gal 5:13-16).

My friend is a seventh day adventist, he follows the Torah. If I am around him, I should not try to offend him. If I visit his church, I should respect his practice. Not under the law of Moses, but under the law of Christ I would respect him.

Is the book of genesis part of the torah or is it part of the law of Moses ?

so you attend synagogue:confused:

WLTX, the gentiles were not being instructed to go to the synagogues to hear Moses read.
James was sending a letter to instruct the gentiles what they should pay heed to in order not offend the jews; to be pleasing to God concerning those things; and in order that they would not be swayed by judaizers insisting they live under the Law of Moses.

he is saying the jews know about those things already where ever Moses is read.

the Temple and sacrifices and Old Covenant traditions and ceremonies were still underway during this transitional time.

a few years from that writing it would all be gone.

The gentiles went to the synagogues on the sabbath because that is where the scrolls were, and that is when the Jews got together to read the scrolls. It wasn't like today where every mother's son has his own bible, and the body of Christ has grown in stature and strength over the past 19 centuries to fully understand that salvation (Christ) came out of the Judeans, but isn't from Judeans themselves.`

This is a well know way of teaching people, you don't overwhelm them with everything all at once. You give them some instruction to help them. Then as they go every Sabbath and learn they will grow in the Lord and know how to walk in his ways.

Could you explain this verse ?
Is this futuer or past
Isaiah 66

22 For as the new heavens and the new earth, which I will make, shall remain before me, saith the Lord, so shall your seed and your name remain.
23 And it shall come to pass, that from one new moon to another, and from one sabbath to another, shall all flesh come to worship before me, saith the Lord.
24 And they shall go forth, and look upon the carcases of the men that have transgressed against me: for their worm shall not die, neither shall their fire be quenched; and they shall be an abhorring unto all flesh.

Do you keep the other 9 commandments ? Why or Why not ?

That is figurative language for worshiping GOD in spirit and truth.

This verse is also figurative

24 And they shall go forth, and look upon the carcases of the men that have transgressed against me: for their worm shall not die, neither shall their fire be quenched; and they shall be an abhorring unto all flesh.

How sad these worship on Sunday only people are!! And such strange teachings they give, saying it is from scripture! Scripture says they are allowed to use this day, they say you must. God the Father says to use Saturday and Christ said He changes nothing the Father said but they insist the Father spoke through Moses and Moses was a liar, or some strange odd being not to be listened to. Christ and scripture says that through Him we are to grow, to obey beyond "just do it" to obey with spirit and truth and remember it is all based on love. They say just don't ever obey. The emperor Constantine, not scripture, said anything Jewish was to be taken out of the church, scripture never says that. These people follow Constantine.

They have no idea at all of how we are to grow in Christ. Scripture tells us plainly how Christ helped us take our worship to a new level. They do not want growth, they want to wipe out much of scripture and start a new "religion" based on what they say, not what God says.

And one of the chief tools they use is the Sabbath! Even if they wipe out every word of the Creator and listen to Christ as a new God who is separate from His Father, it does not tell them to use Sunday only as a guide for them to any of the ways of Christ.

I WONDER WHY THIS VERSE IS IN THE OLD TESTEMENT IN A TIME OF LAW

[h=3]Habakkuk 2[/h]King James Version (KJV)

2 I will stand upon my watch, and set me upon the tower, and will watch to see what he will say unto me, and what I shall answer when I am reproved.
2 And the Lord answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it.
3 For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.
4 Behold, his soul which is lifted up is not upright in him: but the just shall live by his faith.
