Agree, countries much like people, do not appreciate being bullied, Trunk tried the tough guy approach as if it was a real estate deal and it will fail, bigly.

And this idea of "unfair" again as @Cameron states needs to be viewed in context of a super economy and other smaller economies, smaller economies need to protect some of their industries.

A trade deficit means the USA has been a willing consumer and living above their means and now that want other countries to suffer with them.
I have no problem with countries looking out for their best interests. I'd like to see the same thing happen for America. To say that America hasn't been taken advantage of is ridiculous. If countries were trading with the US fairly, there would be no tariffs now.
I get that you live in a country that benefits to the detriment of citizens here and you don't want to lose that advantage. But the President of the United States should do what is best for the people he represents. Whether one agrees with his methods or not, Trump is doing what he believes will benefit all Americans. This is why he was elected.

"Fair" is once again a relative term.
When Biden put 100% tariff on China's electric vehicles was that "fair"?
Is China building 95% of their vehicles in China, then letting Mexico build 5% to avoid tariffs fair? Is China stealing intellectual property from the whole world fair?

China is a geopolitical foe. We should do nothing to promote anything good for them, except share the gospel.

That is what you are told, blame China for America's decline.

Is China stealing intellectual property from the whole world fair?
Do you have proof?

Is China building 95% of their vehicles in China, then letting Mexico build 5% to avoid tariffs fair?
If they are in agreement then it is fair.
Trade agreements remember those.

Maybe realize that a "trade deficit" in the USA means people buy more (consumes) more than it produces and its people live in debt to it can keep consuming.
No one is to blame for that except for the people who do not live within their means.

"DT" does not even know what a trade deficit is.

When the USA was in the best position to take advantage of free trade they were all for it and thought it would last forever.
Quite ironic how it came back to bite them.

America has no one to blame for its problems but itself. We have chosen this course by allowing corrupt politicians to steal our money and leverage our currency. We will either continue down this road or do something about it. I'm in favor of doing something about it.
My point on China is that we have allowed them to be in the position they are in and it was foolish to do so. As far as their theft of intellectual property, it is well known. For someone who prides themselves on research, such a question renders doubt on your objectivity. I'll leave you to your "research" on the topic.
