I don't know why people continue to attack and try to undermine the peace and joy God gives His children.
You don't WORK for God's love, you do good works because you have been GIVEN God's love and HIS Holy Spirit to guide you.
Salvation is more then just answered prayers for material things like food and clothes. Salvation is when you reach a point in your life where you are willing to give EVERYTHING to God. Your dreams, your hopes, your prayers, your fears, your failures, your achievements, your life, your body, mind and soul. Anything and everything you are, you place before the throne of God and say "God make of it what you will, forgive me my trespass and help me to forgive those who have trespassed against me" It is when God washes you clean with the blood of Jesus and gives you His peace.

Don't let the world or the words of men steal away the JOY and Peace GOD have given you.
The only acceptable sacrifice to God is a contrite and humble heart. No amount of good works will win you salvation. It is not what YOU do for God that counts, but what God has done for YOU.
Once you have God's joy, peace and LOVE in your heart, you add to your faith through the guidance of the Holy Spirit.
New born babies need to drink their milk. Every new Christian needs to read the WHOLE Bible even if it takes them 3 or 5 years to do it.
The world will try to distract you from the task, but how can you learn to walk with the Spirit if you haven't even learned to crawl because you refuse to drink your milk?
How will you move to the MEAT of discerning good from evil if you have tried to live off of reguritated milk instead of reading the pure words of scripture for yourself?
I dislike threads like this because to me it seems like people want to beat up the infants instead of feeding them scriptures and showing them the need to GROW in their faith.

God would no sooner abandon one of His children who has stumbled or fallen into a pit, then a parent would a toddler who trips and falls.
If you see someone has fallen, you don't kick them while they are down. You help them up and walk with them a while to make sure they are ok.
Now if you find someone partying in a pit and dragging other people to partake of their sins, you can put up warning signs and offer them a ladder out, but it may take a lot of prayers and God's intervention for them to realize the darkness they are living in. It may take godly sorrow that works unto repentance to realize that playing in the mud isn't really all that much fun.
God doesn't abandon His children, even if they run away from home.

If you are still afraid that means you still need to learn to WALK for you haven't made it to the final step of walking in LOVE.

I grew up in an OSAS church. Due to the fact that I was very much illiterate, and relied on the private interpretation of the church, I fell for this big joke. It wasn't until, as an adult I taught myself to read, that the truth was revealed to me.
The easiest way to to expose this false teaching is to use the very scriptures that OSAS believers use as support.
In the church where I was raised, the story of the prodigal son was used to demonstrate that, no matter how far the son fell away from his father, he never ceased to be his fathers child. But the moral to the story is expressed, in what the father said when his son finally returned to serve him. 'for this my son was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found.' And they began to be merry. So a child of the Father can get lost, so much that as far as the Father is concerned, that child is dead. But as always, our loving Father will forgive, and celebrate; (began to be merry) when we do return to serve Him.

I came across this quote and felt like it should be addressed. I say this only to point people towards the Word. No where does it indicate that God has unconditional love, in fact, He gives us many conditions throughout His Word.

I was referring to our love to others should be like God's love to the world, which is demonstrated by the fact He makes it rain on the just and the unjust.
We should not discriminate between who we help because we deem them "worthy" or "unworthy" but give them our love and aid and prayers regardless.

how does this apply? if you don't abide in God's word, God will not love you? You know its not true. God still loved rebellious Israel and sent prophets who they slayed even though they did NOT abide in His word. God still loved a world so lost in their sins, so enslaved in lies that He sent Jesus to save us.
yes repent, but you are given godly sorrow unto repentance because God loved you enough to place you in a position and give you wisdom to SEE your sin and how wrong you are. Again God does this while you are a sinner because of His love for you, not because of what you did but what HE did for you.

God's mercy... a wonderful verse to show God's UNCONDITIONAL love for the world: He has mercy and forgives repentant hearts when He would be justified to judge and condemn everyone for their sins.

Salvation is a gift of God. It is a sovereign work of God. It is NOT based on our works.

I think there is a sense in which "easy believism" has tainted people's view of salvation. A sinner's prayer, said to get out of hell, without repentance is often not (but not always!) a sign of salvation.
I think to tell people they are going to lose their salvation base on their works, is a sinful doctrine, which discourages and dismays new Christians.

Of course we must follow Christ and obey his commands. Because God has forgiven us so much, why would we not want to walk the narrow road that leads to eternal life?

When we repent, we turn to towards God with our heart, soul and mind. Metanoia in the New Testament means change of mind. Shuv in the Old Testament means change of heart. Both are translated in most places as "repentance."

I see that from your post you do not understand that Christians in this dispensation (the Church Age) are sealed with the Holy Spirit (See Ephesians 1:13 and Ephesians 4:30) and therefore are Eternally Secure. Every true Christian in this dispensation know as the church age, has eternal security. So, no a Christian cannot lose his salvation or be "Un-Born Again." Once a person gets saved, he becomes a part of the Body of Christ and he is now bone of His bone and flesh of His flesh (See Ephesians 5:30).
And those verses which you gave in your thread on Hebrews 6 do not apply doctrinally to a Born Again Christian in the Church Age. Hebrews 6:4-6 applies doctrinally to a saved Jew (Tribulation Saint) in the time of Jacob's trouble. You see Aniohevtorah, Hebrews is not written to a Christian in the Church Age, but it is written to the Jews. That's why you need to rightly divide the word of truth (See 2 Timothy 2:15). If you are to understand Sound Bible Doctrine, then you must study the Bible dispensationally. There are several divisions and dispensations in the Scriptures and when you do not rightly divide the word, you make a big mess of the Bible. Hebrews (the title alone) should be a hint to you that this book is written to and addresses the Hebrews. Not Gentile Christians.
Now understand that you can learn and profit from the book of Hebrews especially for instruction in righteousness, there is a lot in the book of Hebrews that can be applied to the Church Age for instruction in rigorousness. But when you start trying to apply the book of Hebrews Doctrinally to the Church Age, then you will start to see apparent contradictions. Notice I said "apparent contradictions." Not contradictions but apparent contradictions. Why is that? Because the truth of the matter is that there are different viewpoints in the Scriptures that do appear and look as if they are contradictions but that's only if you do not rightly divide the word of truth( Again, read 2 Timothy 2:15).
Here is an excellent example of an apparent contradiction:
8For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9Not of works, lest any man should boast. - Ephesians 2:8-9 (King James Bible)
From reading this passage in Ephesians, we can clearly see here that the Apostle Paul is telling us that we are saved not by our works but by grace through faith. So salvation is given to us without works.
Now let's see what James concluded in his epistle:
14What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him? 15If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food, 16And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit? 17Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone. -James 2:14-17 (King James Bible)

Do you see the apparent contradiction there? Again it is not a contradiction, it just appears to be. There are absolutely no contradictions in the King James Holy Bible, which is God's pure and perfect and infallible word.

It is because they see stuff like I just showed you with the passage from James and also the passage from Ephesians. They see the differing viewpoints and they see that you cannot reconcile them. Of course, the only way to reconcile this quote on quote "issue" of an apparent contradiction is by simply obeying the command given in 2 Timothy 2:15:

That is why when Christians do not rightly divide the word of truth, they cause contradictions to show up in the Scriptures and they make a mess of the Bible. You basically cause the Bible to contradict; that is when yuo do not rightly divide the word of truth.
For every apparent contradiction, there is a Scriptural solution. After all God cannot lie (See Titus 1:2) and the Scripture cannot be broken. (See John 10:35).
Having said that, it is obvious that the reason that the book of James emphasizes and teaches both faith and works is because the book of James is written to the twelve tribes which are scattered abroad (See James 1:1) And also the book of James is doctrinally for the Jew (Tribulation Saint) in the Time of Jacob's Trouble. In the Time of Jacob's Trouble, the only Jews which have Eternal Security are the 144,000 sealed Jews (See Revelation 7:1-8).
Other than that, for the rest of the tribulation saints, they must endure unto the end (See Matthew 24:13, Mark 13:13, Hebrews 3:6; 3:14; & 6:11) because they do not have eternal security.
And as for Ephesians; Faith without works is taught for New Testament Salvation in the Church Age. That is why Ephesians teaches Eternal Security for the Believer.
I really hope this helped you Aniohevtorah. And I hope this has helped other Born Again Christians on here who are still struggling with this issue of eternal security vs. losing salvation. Those that are still unsure about their Salvation and the Eternal Security that comes with Salvation.
Just because you screwed up your whole life and are trying to make up for all at once (by your own efforts), does not mean that those who are genuinely saved don't have assurance of Salvation and sense of eternal security...Also you make all the believers who believe in OSAS to be liars because nobody on this site I know who believes in OSAS teaches "do whatever you want." Thus in reality, you do what you want in making others into liars in your own mind, portraying them in falsehood. Shame on you!!!
Once I read your first sentence, I knew immediately there would be no need to read the rest. For I could see from that first sentence that you go by what the church says, and church interpretation instead of biblical understanding. Not to mention it comes across arrogant. I could care less about 'christian' dispensation. Especially since Yeshua and the disciples were not christians. Hindus and buddhists are called christians too. I met plenty who have said so. So here is a little word of wisdom. If you want to truly reach someone, don't start out your first paragraph as you did here. Look, there is scripture that can represent OSAS and there is scripture that can be interpreted as OSAS is not true. BUT even the consept of SAVED can have MANY meanings,,, When is a person SAVED?
What does saved people do different than other UNSAVED people? The Bible talks about people on different LEVELS. Where is the LEVEL when a person is known as SAVED by God?
So maybe we should first getermine when is a person saved? Or enters into the kingdom. Is the Kingdom on the other side of the narrow gate? What is in the Kingdom? Only saved people? Do we enter salvation here?
Here is what I believe...
God only knew the ones He saves, so he CANNOT love any person that He NEVER knew. God only save the ones He gives and draws to Jesus.... God does not bother with the lost and the ones that work iniguity. They put an seperation between them and God, and they NEVER reach salvation. They NEVER enter into the Kingdom or into God's glory. NEVER.
But the ones God do save ALL are KEPT in the Kingdom... they may have been sinners but they did God through the salvation of God... Called-Justified-glorified...God made them HIS CHILDREN, and He is their God and Father... What an awesome God He is... To Seperate peopleright here on earth, to be in the World but unlike the other masses, NOT from the World but from His Kingdom...
