Original or remake? Which do you prefer?

In Dewey, it would be placed in the 700s (for a film) and the 800s *(for the literature)
A biography of author Mary Shelley would be in the 920s.

Ok I will stop now. Nobody needs to know that.

Sooo Vampire Chronicles anyone? Or Dracula.
It's funny I don't like horror movies or scary ones but I don't seem to mind gothic vampire tales.

Was a movie ever made of this book?

i didn't read the whole thread, so forgive me! lol

for me, whatever i encountered first usually will be my preference.

GG, i could only handle listening to the first verse of cover of place in this world. i said, "nope! nope! nope!!!!!" lol.

i will say, in my opinion, David Crowder does a pretty good job at covers. I also enjoyed Jesus Culture's covers when i listened to them back in the day.

I will say that I didn't care for Toy Story 4...
But Toy Story 5 just came out and we got to go see it.
It's pretty cute and well done.
Or course, no where near the original, first story, but they did a good job with it.
(AND... I didn't fall asleep :LOL: I ALWAYS fall asleep at the theater)

Did they make new toys for it or did they keep playing with the old ones? That's quite a number of stories now, I mean a lot of movies if they keep going kind of end at 3 or 4. But I suppose, if it's CGI then the actors etc won't age.

What did everyone think of the Baby Sitter's Club Netflix series? They updated it, but it only lasted 2 seasons. The books have been remade into graphic novels.

I recently saw Sweet Valley Twins have also had the graphics treatment.

In the Netflix series of BSC, they got two or three things wrong.

1. Kristy in the book had brown hair. In the series, it looks kind of reddish
2. Claudia corrects Mallory's spelling in one episode. If you read the books, Claudia's spelling is atrocious. Was this meant to be an inside joke or was Mallory's spelling even worse? It shouldn't be, she's a writer.
3. Mallory didn't have glasses OR braces in the series, which she did in the books. But she did have the red curly hair.

this is a slight adaptation, which I'll let pass

4. Dawn in the books always had pale blonde long hair. She's from California, where all girls are apparently blonde. But in the series, Dawn is Latina with dark hair. She's still a hippie chick/save the planet/social justice warrior tho.


Yea I'm a BSC geek. Now...Geek Girl....book to Netflix series....

Okay, not going to give spoilers, but there are new things.
This story focuses on technology (that's all I'm saying about that :p )
And they did some things to Woody to suggest that he's an old man toy.

Huh let me guess
Competition from video games. Video games are toys people. Electronic toys.
 
I found out the Babysitters Club had dolls made of them.
Of the original book characters, not the ones on tv/movies. There was a whole lot of merch as well as calendars, journals, and board games.

I had that book. Howard the dog and Chester the cat, and a new bunny who has a strange tendency to suck the juice out of veggies.

My favorite parts were the cat trying to push a steak into the rabbit's chest, and "So long Chester. So long smelly old Howard." Hmph! Smelly indeed! I would have bitten his ankle, but he hadn't changed his socks in a week.

The one thing I didn't get was that Howard the dog ate chocolate. Isn't chocolate poisonous for dogs??

Boy am I tired of hearing that one...

People forget a dog's body mass and feed the poor thing as much chocolate as a human would eat. And it smells and tastes good, so the dog eats it without thinking about it. But if a 40 pound dog eats the same amount of chocolate as a 160 pound human, it has four times the effect on the dog.

Yeah chocolate is bad for dogs because dumb humans feed the dog a whole chocolate bar and get him so wired he could broadcast.
 
If I recall Howard the dog ate chocolate chip muffins, so maybe it didn't affect him as much as a whole bar of white chocolate.

White chocolate....ew...
