Well, it's been edifying. Thanks to all those who responded and didn't personally attack me.
I give you grace and peace.

I think it can be problematic for wealthy gals to find a decent partner/spouse who isn't after them primarily for their money too, like heiresses. So many scammers and catfishers out there. Don't fall for it.

I am definitely out of men's leagues if they are living overseas and cannot afford a ticket to fly to New Zealand, or a yacht to sail here lol.

It's interesting what men say about women and vice versa. I think it's a good thing in a way, to acknowledge that someone is better than you, so it would be wrong to pursue them, as you probably won't make 'a good catch' as us women say about men.

" I don't want no scrubs'

At least TLC defined what a 'scrub' was in their song.

A scrub is a guy
Who think's he's fly
Also known as a buster
Always thinking about what he wants
And sits on his broke a--

No hoops to jump through to see what you want to see.
But, ONLY IF you are a member of 'X' !!! :censored:

When people on CC post stuff from 'X' or some other site where you have to be a member of that site to be able to see the web page - it can very easily come across like this:

"I want to share something with my brothers and sisters in Christ - but ONLY if they are "privileged" enough by being a member of the web site I am posting a link to - the rest of you I don't care about..."

CC is the primary site - secondary sites should not become more important than the primary site. However, in effect, that is what happens when links are posted by members of the primary site on the primary site that prefer the secondary site. Is this making sense?

It's about having a reciprocal agreement....
Meaning the sharing goes both ways or not at all.
Amen! I am 100% all in for a CC policy decision against members posting links to web pages that cannot be seen by anyone who is not a member of whatever site the link points to.

( @RoboOp @Oncefallen )

I personally do my very best to never post anything on CC that any member on here would not be able to see. And, I do this for the sake of all CC members - because I actually care enough to give them that consideration...

That being said...

What will this become if I click on the blue button?
In this situation, I do realize that I can no-doubt opt-in to being tracked, etc. and could/would probably be able to see the content - but - should I have to???

People today really do not understand just how disruptive all of this tracking, etc. can be for individuals and society-at-large. It is really sad that people "just accept it"... :(

There was one famous case where one of NZ media's darlings was so bullied on Twitter that she committed suicide. Her 'followers' directly wrote to her 'Why don't you kill yourself' on Twitter.
I can imagine God telling these people on Judgment Day:

"Why don't you jump into the lake of fire and stay there forever - here, I will help you with that..."

There's no loniliness epidemic in my country. We're all very connected, its the domestic violence and bullying and child abuse that's more the problem.
Are you connected enough to come together as a society to rise above it and put a stop to all of that crap...???

Does this only apply to men describing women?
Often here we would say - she's too good for him.

Meaning, she's a better person than he is. Nobody really wants to go out with a low-life. This is in terms of character.
The phrases "She is too good for him." and "He is too good for her." are also familiar to us in the U.S.A.

No likely as its the people at the very top of society who often the ones who don't care. Abusers are going to abuse.

We have rehabs, we have jails, we have women's and pets refuges, we have hospitals, we have police, we have social workers, we have unions, we have plunkets, we have community groups, we have schools...but abuse starts with boyfriends and girlfriends, husbands and wives or partners then absent parents, then it's in schools, and then workplaces, and in government.....

its the whole girls vs boys things I think. Its boys picking on the girls. The older on the younger. The authorities that make the rules often just make them to suit themselves. Those in power are going to abuse it.

There's principals in schools that are padedophiles, there's teachers who groom their students. There are boyfriends killing their girlfriends. There's white collar crims committing fraud, theirs shoplifters and litterers. How are you going to put a stop to that? Fines won't deter them.

We can't change the behaviour and stop a wolf going after it's prey, but the least we can do is keep the sheep safe. This is why we all need a saviour and a shepherd. Safety in numbers?

How about you? What do YOU suggest.

I was just trying to make a point...

We all know that Jesus is the [true] answer to everything - without Him, evil abounds.

My point - to get folks to think about it in a certain way - is that - if folks in any group or society have a strong-enough common belief in anything good - and - are willing to "step up" together to make a positive change - they can actually accomplish it. However, the devil is really good at keeping folks divided so that they never come together in a way that will make that difference...

The central core "issue" or "problem" is communication - if everyone were on the same page, they could "act together" to make the difference.

The isolation is driven by fear (which is understandable) - no one wants to "step up" unless they are convinced that everyone else will do it with them.

For anything-at-all to work for the good of society, good people must do what they can where they can when they can - starting 'local' and working outward to larger "scopes" and "spheres" of influence.

"The Only Thing Necessary for the Triumph of Evil is that Good Men Do Nothing."

Satan has all of the societies of the earth so "rattled" and "afraid" that they do not even know what to do...

Yet - they all have it in their power to make a difference - IF - there is/were enough people in common agreement and with purpose of mind to act together to make that difference.

But - hey - I am just talking about things that are actually real-and-possible but will never happen - until Jesus comes - because way too many people in this world are too self-centered and cannot see the big picture...

I worked with city council so I kind know how local govt operates...very badly. Endless meetings that don't do very much. Token consultation. Budget blowouts. Keeping everyone else in the dark. Restructuring. The ILLUSION of working together, when really, the big boss or the one holding the purse strings has already decided.

Grass roots things are great, but they won't ever reach the top. The top looks after themselves. If the grass roots can do something bottom up, great, but it has nothing to do with the top, and if they think the grassroots are fine doing what they do, the people at the top don't have to do anything to make it easier. They'll just cut the tall poppies down to size.

I learned a hard lesson as a young idealistic millenial entering the baby boomer dominated workforce. We can't be the change we want to see when the ones at the top are the ones stopping the change, or changing things only to suit their already luxurious lives of ease.
local government isn't even local anymore, they've amalgamated everything into one big supercity, controlled by another smaller city halfway down the country. How does that make sense. I mean it's nice to be united, rather than divided, but as always it's a tale of two cities now, one rich, the other poor, and the disparity between them far and wide.

Police don't help women escape domestic violence situations. They kind of had the attitude like 'it's only a domestic, the man most control his missus' or 'she must have done something wrong, but men are the ones in charge, so as long as nobody is dead or in hospital. they should be able to sort it out.... carry on...'

Jesus did come! He shouldn't have to come again to threaten everyone if they don't behave.... He's working to put things right now, one soul at a time. We have charities upon charities all needing money and who had this idea that all christians are rich and should be the ones giving when...actually a great many christians are poor! It's robbing Peter to pay Paul honestly.

I find it interesting learning about Civil Rights in the US. Like Rosa Parks, and how everyone got behind her to protest segregation or Jim Crow laws.
And after all, anyone who is not Catholic and a christian is just know as a 'Protestant' because they protested the 99 theses on the Wittenburg door or something.

But you know what some people said about the whole climate change action where children skipped school, basically striked in protest and Greta Thunberg said 'how dare you!' How dare you take away our futures and ruin the planet for not just children but for every living thing that breathes????

The adults were like, oh they just a bunch of children that wanted to cut class, what do they know!

I thought of the Jesus Revolution movie and it seemed to me a very interesting time to be a hippie in America in the 60-70s.
But did that really change or revolutionise anything? It seemed like, well in the movie, it was just hey there's this charismatic preacher, getting the young'uns back into church again, except we gonna make it funner and groovier so they'll all come along dude.

Did it really save the US youth from a life of sex, drugs and rock n'roll? Cos things got very dire later on. And what was grunge all about? People were dying right and left, if not of AIDS but of drug abuse, overdose or shooting themselves like Kurt Cobain. I don't really rememeber any christian bands that were popular at that time or had a Christian message that reached everyone. CCM was in a category all on its own, and nobody, nobody was playing christian music on commercial radio or showing christian music videos on tv. And then it all turned out it was just like the secular music industry anyway...all about the money.

Idk, I just thought maybe I'm seeing or thinking things wrong. Maybe there really was a positive change. But why was it, by the time I actually got into church, it had turned into a moshing rock concert that hurt my ears?? And I wasn't even that old.

Question, what do men mean when they say this - she's out of my league?
I might be wrong, but I've always understood it to mean that a guy thinks a gal is too good for him or that he doesn't measure up. In other words, she would never date a guy like him because he's basically a nobody whereas she's a somebody. If I am correct, then it's a sort of self-abasement on the part of the guy and not a shot at the gal who he seemingly thinks highly of.

Yea maybe it's just being humble

I mean it can be interpreted a few different ways depending on who's saying and the context. If a guy says 'she's way out of my league' or if his friends are ribbing him and saying 'she's out of your league man' like don't even try or go there. Or it could be the 'friend' is competitive and what he's really saying this to discourage his friend and wants to date her himself.

I haven't seen the eponymous movie that I didn't know existed, but I do remember the movie 'There's something about Mary' about a guy who's in love with a girl called Mary but he's too scared to approach her, because she seems way too good to be true.
Is this often the case? And then his mates give him all this advice on how to approach her and what to do on a date, and she's kind of oblivious that he likes her.

I mean it's only a movie and not meant to be taken seriously, but I suppose it's sort of based on real life, and they poke fun at this premise. The reverse is more of a Cinderella thing, plain gal gets makeover/ puts on a pretty dress, and suddenly everyone looks at her in a new light.

Or as in My Fair Lady where this guttersnipe gets elocution lessons from a toff with a plummy accent then starts to falls in love with her, But twist - she only wants to marry Freddy the chimney sweep.
